Rosemary Hill - Located in Placerville, this fabulous house is a dream. With 2 bedrooms/2 bath. The primary master suite includes, 1 king bed, and 1 Sofa bed with Trundle. The downstairs bedroom has a Tempur pedic queen bed . Our tranquil property offers a phenomenal stay for guests. This area and this house has so much to offer… The home is 1,777 sf. located on 5.2 acres. Three of the acres are beautifully landscaped with fencing. There is 180-degree panoramic views overlooking the Cosumnes River Valley and local wineries. There are beautiful sunsets from this property. You are in the foothills of Placerville’s Historic Gold Country, the 1849 Gold Rush where gold was discovered at Sutters Mill in Coloma. Close by are Gold Bug Mine and historic Hangtown in downtown Placerville. With great Boating, Kayaking, Fishing and Hiking around our local lakes and rivers like Sly Park Lake, Icehouse Reservoir, Union Valley Reservoir, Loon Lake, Hell Hole Reservoir, and popular Lake Tahoe is close by (less than one hour) with the many casinos and many Ski Resorts. George Town and the historic Rubicon Trail are also close by. Drive Mormon Immigrant Trail towards Hwy 88 or visit Apple Hill. There are over 50 Local Wineries, and all are within a short drive away. We are located in between Fair Play and El Dorado wine district. Placerville is close with shopping and dining just 20 minutes away. Or visit the local Bones Roadhouse less than one mile from the house. Sacramento is an hour's drive away. Because of where we are located you might get a glimpse of a Wild Turkey, Deer, Bear, Fox, Skunk, Squirrel, Possum, Bobcat, Mountain Lion. All except the deer and turkeys are very elusive. We are on 5 acres in the foothills / Forest on horse property “we don’t have any but our neighbors do” You might have the smells and bugs that go along with them. Come up on the hill and enjoy everything we have to offer! Bring your RV, plenty of room to park. NO RV hook up is provided.
Sit by the waterfall stream and feed the fish.

Perfect location for visiting Apple Hill with the family. Nice, quite house on a large property. Everything was clean and in good condition. Great spot for visiting the Placerville area.

Great Getaway House

We were in the area to visit Apple Hill for a few days and this house was great to stay and rest for a few days.

The description of this property was spot on! This was a very quiet and relaxing location. The property is absolutely beautiful and the house has everything that you need. The hosts provide a book with all the info/ instructions you will need. Susan was super responsive as well! It was a great girl/mom's getaway weekend for myself and my friends of 29 years. We would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to anyone looking for a similar experience.

Peace & Quiet

Very relaxing home & property . Views are amazing and the exterior is beautiful with many different trees and places to relax . Had a great stay with my dog and will stay here again when I am in the area .

Beautiful home and property! Home was very clean, comfy and welcoming. Communication was very good with prompt responses to any questions I had. Lots of privacy and extremely peaceful. Would definitely book again!

Serene and peaceful, perfect family getaway!

My husband, 5 year old daughter and our 2 pups had a wonderful little family getaway at this beautiful spot over Easter weekend. The hosts were so thoughtful, making sure the home was stocked with any little necessity we may have forgotten and even left a welcome basket full of snacks, doggy treats for the pups and an Easter basket of goodies for our little girl along. The home was nicely decorated, very comfortable and extremely spacious! We really enjoyed the HUGE backyard, and our daughter had a great time "exploring the forest" :) We will definitely be back again and would highly recommend this property!

Amazing Quiet Getaway

We had a great stay with our friends and dogs escaping fireworks on the Fourth of July. The back yard space is beautiful and there are several tables for dining options. I always bring cutlery when possible at vacation rentals so if a sharp knife is import ant to you, it never hurts to bring one along, but overall the kitchen is nicely equipt. The cutting boards are a little strange but work! Amazing hikes close by and grocery store within 5 minutes. Lots of extra blankets in the house. The host left some welcome snacks and had excellent communication! The place was super clean on arrival despite a few small issues that are expected with a beautiful home in nature. Our dogs got covered in burrs from the backyard so bring a good burr brush if you have a fur companion with you. Easy to brush out! We would absolutely stay again.

House of flies

Disturbing. The house was unsanitary with an infestation of flies. Had to kill over 30 flies. Unsanitary for eating. Fly landed on friend while sleeping resulting in poor sleep. Big spider in hallway. Barely any water running from downstairs sink. Host has not refunded anything. Very poor experience.

Retaliatory review. Erin was looking for a free weekend!! Erin Lost her REFUND request. Working with VRBO to have this FALSE review removed. Host responded within 30 minutes of text about flies in home. Only one fly noted at top of window screen. Front screen door was ajar when we arrived. Left fly swatter and bio friendly fly spray. We do live in the country near horse property so there can be an occasional fly. We had cleaned 3 hours prior to their arrival and did not see any flies. Guest is asking for refund of stay and cleaning fee and left 1 star review. First complaint ever... Erin is NOT welcome to stay with us again.

We have lived in the area for the past 20 years and love it! My wife and I take care of this beautiful home, We care for the grounds and the orchards with all the different fruit tree's. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on one of the many back decks and having a glass of wine or having morning coffee on the balcony outside the master suite. The birds visit often. We love to sit and watch the wildlife. This home will someday be our retirement home. We want to share it with you for its beauty and location to everything this area has to offer. Wineries, Hiking, Boating, Fishing, Rafting, Skiing and it's weather! Come up and enjoy our property on the hill and you will never want to go home!

Rosemary Hill is located in a quiet neighborhood between Pollock Pines and Placerville. When you drive into the neighborhood, you are on a one lane paved country road. You may see the local deer family, quail and various birds. We love the quiet country feel and driving in and seeing the hill/country view is just beautiful. Our favorite thing to do is sit by the waterfall/stream and feed the many fish.

This is a view property, that's what sold us on the property. The peacefulness in the backyard with the koi pond and waterfall stream is beautiful. There are many types of trees and a small orchard on the property with apple, cherry and grapes growing. The inside of this home is mostly knotty pine with vaulted ceilings. There are views from all the windows. We love to watch the hawks soaring from the large windows. Whether you are inside or out there is such a peaceful feeling here.
