Hillside Over The Atlantic Unforgettable Beauty, Ocean Views & Privacy

A lovely gated home in a private yet residential setting. Two fabulous units!! AND NO! You never have to share the property and pool. This is a single family home.
A two bedroom unit upstairs sleeps 4. A well appointed kitchen for eat in or poolside dining, and just a great place to gather with friends. The living room is comfortable by every standard, the bedrooms are large with plenty of storage. There are Indoor and outdoor showers and baths. Completely screened porches have a dining area and comfortable chairs for all leisure activities. High-speed internet is available, as is satellite television.
A one-bedroom ground-floor retreat poolside also has every comfort imaginable.
If you are booked with us? You never have to wonder, "Will there be other guests in the other unit?". The answer is no.
Please note the house is not suitable for children under 12. To get our great views, you need to travel a steep dirt road, so NO GOLF carts.. you will thank us for this.

Casa Mimosa was a perfect location for our family trip to Vieques. Kim and Steve were exceptional hosts - excellent communication, thoughtful details, great amenities. The house had everything we needed and provided plenty of space for 6 adults.

Picture Perfect

The house is beautiful and perfect for families that need a little extra space. It has full living quarters both upstairs and downstairs. We truly enjoyed the wonderful pool and views. It’s located close to things but the neighborhood is quiet and at a distance. The host and property manager couldn’t be more accommodating. Fantastic stay we loved it!!

Beautiful home

Breathtaking views

This has been by far our best vrbo! The communication with our host was excellent, she sent us a whole packet about the island. Listed places to go,restaurants,beaches,etc. The house and pool was a dream come true,dont be scared away by the driveway reviews,as long as you have 4wd it is fine. Our host provided toiletries,condiments,coolers,beach chairs,floaties, coffee and a very relaxing atmosphere. We hope to return to it next year.

Exceeded our expectations!

This home and property were above and beyond the best we have ever experienced! The home was well equipped and clean. The swimming pool and outdoor living area were so great to relax by anytime day or night. The views were phenomenal. We enjoyed the screened in porch for a morning coffee spot to discover colorful iguanas in the large backyard. You could see the ocean, and so much wildlife! The owner was so helpful and communicative. The Guestbook became my island "bible" with so many great tips and insider information. We even had a Mimosa kit waiting for us to enjoy upon arrival. This home well exceeded our expectations and we would love to return in the future.

Amazing!!

Everything from booking to check out was amazing! So much so we will be back and can’t wait to relax around the pool & explore more of vieques! The house is off the beaten path but only a short few min ride to town and you can walk to the beach. You will want to rent a car, we rented a car and utv and both worked well on the back roads. The house was perfect for 6 people with plenty of space and everything you will need. We cooked out multiple times by the pool and had friends over that we ran into on the ferry heading over. (Small world). I can’t imagine anything more perfect. Thank you for stealing my heart with your home and island!

Soulful stay at Casa Mimosa

Casa Mimosa was perfect for our group of five. The house "lives" very well, with private accommodations on each floor (in our case, one couple downstairs, and a family of three upstairs). The house has great outdoor spaces, with two screened-in porches and a beautiful pool deck. We spent hours by the pool, especially hanging out there late into the night watching the stars. The house is very well equipped, including a huge grill, plenty of beach chairs, a couple of coolers, and even some snorkeling equipment. We didn't lack for anything. You really do need a Jeep or Bronco to access the house because Route 200 gets rough as you get close, and the road leading up to it is pretty much a rutty path. But that's why we love Vieques, right?

Wonderful spot!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this villa. Perched on a hill, we enjoyed every sunset and the ocean views. It is very conveniently located: 8 mn drive from downtown and less than 20 minutes to stunning beaches . The pool is the best one we ever had in a rental! Loved it! Yes the access to the house is not easy: we rented a Bronco and it was perfect. We stayed last week of April and used only upstairs unit. Beds were really confortable and living space was plenty for 3 of us. AC was a plus at night, not because we needed it that much, but it allowed us to close the windows as the chickens and dogs can become very vocals some nights. Our daughter preferred to sleep with the breeze. The kitchen would benefit to have more pots, pans and Tupperware containers to bring food on the beach but Isotherm bags and coolers available for guests are really a plus! The WIFI was strong and consistent, which was also something we really appreciated. We could be all connected at the same time without slow down or interruption (it’s not very often in Caribbean islands). Susan was exceptional: from sending someone to pick up us at the airport (drive us to the rental and then to the house) to find a plan for us to enjoy our last day after checkout, she was a gem! She quickly answered all questions before and during our stay. She provides a very detailed and helpful guide for you to navigate the island. Just read it! Her service is above excellence! We strongly recommend this villa!

This is a great place

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this house. It has an incredible view, its roomy, and a lovely pool. The owners have pretty much everything you need for the beach, and we were able to use the kitchen for many meals. The WiFi was consistent and strong, which was great for us because we worked 1/2 days each day. We were confused about the address of the location. Please be aware that it does not have an address, so it won't show up on google maps. Susan was marvelous about picking us up from the airport, taking us to the rental car agency, and leading us to the house. You won't be able to find it without her. She also provides excellent advice on restaurants, activities, etc, and she welcomes guests to contact her with concerns. She always replied in a snap. The biggest issue is the road to the house. It has been worn from weather, and you absolutely, 100% no question need to rent a jeep- not a Kia, not a Bronco, and don't even consider a golf cart. It has to be a jeep to get up the road. You will also appreciate having a jeep if you want to access remote beaches, as those roads are also in need of repair as well. I would stay here again.

Been to Vieques many times, second time renting this house. Appreciate the changes in cutting back security lighting, love the night sky. Driveway is a challenge, but Vieques. Pool and screened porch are fantastic!

Breezy Hill

The name of this house should be Breezy Hill. There was always a breeze and even on less breezy days there was never a need for A/C. We were two couple in this house for 19 nights. This was our 3rd trip to Vieques in the last 10 years, all in different houses. We never used the A/C except in the master bedroom with couple 1. We chose to drown out the dogs and roosters as much as possible. (Island life as they say.) Couple 2 did not use the A/C in the down stairs bedroom. The screened porch on both levels is great for eating outside. It can be a little cramped if there are more than 4 people. The house has two levels with a kitchen, 2 beds and 1 bath upstairs. Downstairs there is one bedroom and 1 bath and a kitchen. We chose to use the downstairs also because of the bathroom situation but we prepared and ate our meals upstairs. It is a two bath house but not on the same level. A word of warning if you want to rent this house. The driveway is TREACHEROUS and you must rent a Jeep or real SUV. DO NOT rent a golf cart, sedan of any make or model or the generally offered KIA Soul. We did not know about the municipally owned road until we got to the house. Every time we left the house and came back we were worried about puncturing a tire with the rocks or busting an axle. We actually got stuck once and everyone had to get out of the car so I could get it past the mini Grand Canyon we had to drive on. Consider yourself warned. There are many bad roads that are off the main roads, such as some beach roads. None are worse than this road to the house and over the years we have been on most of them. The kitchens are surprisingly well stocked with utensils, tools, pots and pans and dinner wear. Some outdoor/pool dinner plates would be nice. A large fridge is in both units. Hot water is problematic and takes some getting used to. Thought out plumbing was not a priority when this house was built. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The lower bedroom had what seemed to be a plastic cover on the mattress. There is DirecTV if you want to watch TV. FYI: the DTV remote controls the TV and the DTV receiver. There is a sound system that is controlled by its own small remote. The house is well secured with locked gates and entries. The view is great off the pool. Plenty of float toys for pool. The pictures offered are true to life. We would go back to this house if we were coming back to Vieques now that we have the knowledge.

Superb Spot!

Well appointed house with lots of beach gear. Close to town with great views. Susan was a wonderful host, picking us up at the ferry and providing lots of local information. The pool was a plus. Accommodations were well suited for 3 couples travelling together. I would return in a heart beat!

Mimosa House!

This place is roomy and great for one couple or several couples. Susan the property manager was awesome to work with from the very first email to following up through our stay. We were there for a week and my daughter and her husband came for three days. So we used both upstairs and downstairs. If you are a couple renting this and not sure you want to stay up or downstairs, its just a matter of preference but it is awesome having that flexibility! The stars at night from the pool deck were incredible. Yes there is a flood light that comes on but it is motioned sensor-ed and doesn't stay on long. Great location, great amenities, great property manager. Overall just a great stay!

Great house, great view, great location

This was our tenth visit to Vieques, our first after Maria, and our first time in this house. We would love to stay here again. Salt pool was wonderful, even though it wasn't a requirement when we started looking. Breezes from being up high means never having to use AC. Beds were very comfortable, tons of great beach and bath towels. Screened porch was a wonderful place to sit at dawn and dusk. Pool patio was a wonderful place the rest of the day when we weren't at the beach. Susan, the house manager, was extremely helpful and a delight to work with. Our only complaint was that the security lights were too intense to really enjoy the spectacular night sky available in an otherwise dark area. We had a wonderful trip, great to see the island again. Already looking forward to next year!

Immaculate, beautifully decorated, relaxing, great for families with teenagers

Far exceeded our expectations! Our daughters enjoyed having their own space. The pool was gorgeous and such a great place for the family to gather. Susan went above and beyond with her recommendations and advice. Specifically, we have one daughter who is vegetarian, and Susan located some absolutely out of this world Indian food. We arrived on a Saturday night and happily there were sufficient foodstuffs, some adult (and child) beverages and coffee for the next morning. We'd had a long journey, so it was such a relief to just immediately hit the pool and start relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. Enoyed the Netflix and Dish satellite music stations. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thanks so much!

Can't say enough good things about this place. A very comfortable stay. The property manager, Susan was terrific and serves as a great source of local knowledge. My only regret is that we didn't have more time on the island.

Beautiful view

Wonderful house accommodated us all perfectly. Had everything we needed from Beach Chairs to Towels and Snorkel Gear. Pool is beautiful and made for a great end of the day dip after the Beach. Only thing we never got used to were the Roosters calling at 4:30 in the morning.

Wow! Our first four star review. :( We can't do anything about neighborhood roosters. (or neighborhood horses, iguanas) We live in the Caribbean, our island is 2/3 wildlife refuge. We DO have air conditioning, so the house can be closed up, so they can't be heard. I sure loved meeting you, your family, and your friends! Thank you for taking such good care of the house. Any other family who has the pleasure of your renting their house? Yay! for them (just like us!) Fabulous renters <3 We hope you return to our lovely island someday

What a great vacation!

This was our very first trip to Vieques and we definitely fell in love with the island - but especially this beautiful house. It had every amenity you need and more!!!!! I can't say enough about Susan and all of her help navigating us on our first journey - and she makes a great Painkiller!!!!!!!! Can't wait to come back!!!!

Amazing Property

We have been to Vieques a number of times. Staying at this house was, by far, our best experience. Our standards are high, and nothing disappointed us! We especially enjoyed the pool after a few hours at the beach. Sitting on the upper deck each morning to welcome the day was perfect. This is a private, pristine property and we felt fortunate to have enjoyed a week there.

Relaxation At It's Finest

This property has it all...ocean view, pool, all the "modern" accessories needed for a comfortable stay, and a terrific location from which to launch your island exploration. If you're looking for city life with lots of things to do, stay in San Juan. If you're looking for a place to get away to where you can relax and take things as they come (island time), then this is the perfect place. Matt and Kelly, thanks for sharing your home with us. We loved it.

Incredible!!!

This is an amazing home. My three girlfriends and I spent a week relaxing and exploring. We loved it so much that we are headed back again this year and hope to make it an annual trip. There is so much to do on the island or just relax by the pool. It is our little piece of heaven every year. Thank you Matt and Kelly for allowing us to stay at your home. Thank you Susan and Sepo for making this a trip we look forward to every year.

A pleasure and safe vacation home with many amenities.

Casa Mimosa was such a pleasure to stay in with its beautiful view, clean and lovely rooms and screened in porch. The pool was a wonderful bonus to swim laps early in the day and then relax in the evenings. Many thoughtful details such as the guidebook put together by the owners and the efficient management by Susan added to the overall delight and wellbeing of our stay at Casa Mimosa.

Absolutely Perfect. I actually don't want to talk about how wonderful it was because I feel like it's our secret spot. I traveled to vieques with my adult children and a few friends and we all loved every second of our visit to mimosa house. The beds are very comfortable, the shared spaces are cozy and the kitchen has everything you need to make meals (or you can use the outside grill by the pool). We went to the beach every day, but used the pool constantly too. We sat outside most of the time because the views are superb. We also loved the regular visits from the local horses and the daily iguana sightings. The location was perfect for us and it was quick and easy to drive everywhere on the island. Susan, the property manager, was the most helpful, kind and generous person. She made the trip amazing for us! We will definitely visit again!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The pool is one of the largest residential pools on the island and perfect for cooling off after the beach. Views of the big island and epansive skies for stargazing.... all on our 2-acre property. Situated on the north shore we enjoy great breezes too.
