Welcome to Whiteside Villa Elevation: 4850 feet!

Location, Location, Location! Contact me now to get on waiting list! Spectacular, panoramic mountain view of three states (North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia). This luxury home is located on Wildcat Ridge (above Wildcat Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina) on top of Whiteside Mountain (one of the oldest mountains in the world). It is the highest home in the area, placed right next to forest service land for additional privacy and easy access to hiking trails. PLEASE email me if you don't see immediate availability. There's always a chance I can get you in this year or next.

Our home has every convenience: Smart TVs, Tivo, Blu-Ray, Dvd players in the living room and three bedrooms. Premium cable and high speed, wireless Internet in the home and on the decks. Showers with at least two shower heads and excellent water pressure. Two-person jacuzzi tub with panoramic views. Numerous decks with a variety of patio furniture. Weber grill and outdoor fireplace. Enclosed garage. Central heating and AC as well as ceiling fans. All modern appliances and spacious laundry room. TempurPedic and Heavenly beds. Automatic generator. Delicious privacy.

* No other property in the area has a view equal t the one! None! *

The house is fully stocked (towels, linens, soap, toilet tissue, garbage bags, paper towels, cleaning agents, etc.). The refrigerator has purified water. Unlimited long distance calls within Continental US.

All rental income goes directly to maintaining and improving the home, and improvements are made every year.

The property location is priceless. Truly priceless. We rent the home so that we can keep it in the family for many generations.

Minimum stay is seven nights. Stays are Friday to Friday (check in at 3:00pm; check out at 9:00am).

Maximum Occupancy is 6 persons.

This is a wonderful house, particularly if you’re a Frank Lloyd Wright fan of mid century modern architecture. Absolutely stunning! The view is incredible and the house is comfortable in every respect. Our host was very easy to reach and interested in making sure our stay was perfect. Couldn’t have been better!

A house & mountain views

Lovely well maintained home in great up to date beautiful condition with all amenities and fantastic mountain views. Situated in a private secluded area but only 15 minutes from either Highlands or Cashiers over paved well maintained roads. The architecture of the house is unique and charming.

Never Disappoints

After almost 30 years of choosing this as our "carved in stone" time of year my whole family comes together -- Whiteside Villa has functioned as our second home. We treat it as such and our gracious host continues to surprise us from year to year with updates and improvements. The only thing that never changes is the view, the history and the charm. It never disappoints.

Exceptional views with great accommodations!!

A very well appointed house, close to downtown Highlands, Cashiers and 90 minutes to Asheville. This is our third year staying at Anne’s home with plans to return. We highly recommend this home.

Most perfect setting in the Highlands

The proximity to Whiteside Mountain and the spectacular views make this a perfect Highlands location. It is located halfway between Highlands and Cashiers which is ideal.

Haven in the Clouds

Whiteside Villa never disappoints. For almost 30 years this has been my family's place to relax and recharge. All the up to date amenities of modern life with the same 30 mile view enjoyed by the original settlers of HIghlands. The best of both worlds and no better place to be on the Plateau.

Always perfect

Immaculate, beautiful, comfortable. And this is just the inside. Outside there are incredible views of three states, sunrise through sunset. It makes me happy. Can't recommend it highly enough. Anne is easy to work with and very prompt.

Awesome as always.

Still delivers a home away from home feeling ... that is, if your home has a 30 mile view and rarely gets above 72 degrees in the heat of summer. My family never gets tired of our time together here. This is the best The Plateau has to offer.

Outstanding mountain views

If you’re looking for incredible long-range mountain views then you definitely will want to stay at Whiteside Villa. This is the most unique house on the side of the mountain with a direct close up view of Whiteside Mountain. Anne is the most superb host! The house is always incredibly clean and well maintained. She takes great pride in doing upgrades in the house every year. I can’t say enough about this wonderful property. :).

Up in the clouds

This is the 2nd time we’ve rented this property. A truly unique house - both its architecture and setting. This house is situated at one of the highest elevations for a home in the Highlands area and has an extraordinarily expansive view. This property has been very well maintained. We will return.

Never ceases to amaze

Our first visit to Whiteside Villa was when our children were in elementary school. Now in their early 30s, they both make their way back from LA and DC to spend time with us here every year. While the house is updated every year, the spectacular view remains the same. And the memories last forever.

Paradise on Whiteside

We have rented this gorgeous home for many years, and it never disappoints. The home is magnificently furnished and immaculate. No detail for the ultimate vacation is left undone. A short distance out of the front door leads you to the Whiteside Mountain hiking trail. The home is conveniently located between Highlands and Cashiers with plenty of privacy. The views from the wrap around deck are breathtaking! We simply cannot get enough of this beautiful home. We look forward to returning again in fall.

Amazing views at Whiteside Villa!

There is no way that words can describe the views here. You are directly adjacent to Whiteside Mountain and the surrounding views are unsurpassed. Anne is the BEST property manager imaginable. The house is always immaculate and she’s only an email away should you need anything (which we normally don’t). Everything you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation is here. :)

WhiteSide Villa; a MCM Paradise

WhiteSide Villa is a true Mid Century Modern treasure nestled on the Southwestern or “Nose End” of WhiteSide mountain. Whiteside Villa is the highest home in the Highlands-Cashiers area at 4850 feet, and it abuts the Whiteside Mountain Hiking Trail Forest Service Land. It has the most expansive views of any home on the Ridge which can all be viewed from every room in the home as well as from any of the numerous outdoor decks. It was designed by architects Robert Opsahl, Jim Fox, and Jeff Cox, all of whom favored the Frank Lloyd Wright style of organic architecture -- that is, designing in harmony with humanity and the environment. This unique home also boasts master craftsmanship with the natural stone and wormy chestnut interiors as well as custom built furniture designed by Jim Fox. It's not merely a home; it's a soul-rejuvenating experience.
