Big beautiful 3 story cabin. 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 4th bedroom loft. Sleeps 11. WIFI. Gated community with playground, lake for swimming and fishing at an elevation of 5000ft mile high Long Barn! Full kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee maker. Fireplace/woodstove wood provided, cable tv/dvd, WIFI, bbq propane. close to pinecrest lake, dodge ridge, ice rink, snow play, yosemite, black oak casino, columbia state park, railtown state park, big trees state park wine tasting.

CLEANING:
We have always and will continue to use clorox, lysol cleaners, disinfectant sprays, and laundry sanitizer, vinegar, bleach as appropriate for each surface type. Our crews wear protective masks and gloves. We have always taken great care to protect our guests! You should leave it tidy, rinsed dishes go into dishwasher so there's no ants etc. Cabins blankets and towels stay at the cabin. The crew does the rest.

Wonderful Trip

Ski team travel house

Convenient place to stay for our ski team chaperones and athletes in between racing at Dodge Ridge. Plenty of space for kids to spread out and be comfortable. Quiet and unique neighborhood that would be cool place to come back to in summer and explore area more!

Mountain Relaxation

Wonderful area, very accommodating digs. Great deck that hosted marathon card games and a bunch of grilling. Kitchen works great for prepping and serving up meals. And so close to so much mountain greatness! Recommended strongly!

Winter Holiday Escape

Our family had a very comfortable stay in the Knotty Cabon, savored the fresh air from the patio, walks through the forested community, ice skating up the road, hikes at Lake Pinecrest, and exploring Yosemite - loved being there in the winter as it was so quite and peaceful. Darlene was timely and polite in her communications, and do bring what she lists in the visitor information - we were well prepared!

White Christmas plan but

With friends and family, planned for snow. But there was no snow, however enjoyed the stay and neighborhood. It was a perfect place for both winter and summer. Will surely get the same one again in future.

Beautiful and cozy cabin!

Everything was neat and clean and just as in property and cabin description. The area is very quiet and the Setting beautiful with large windows looking out to the pines. The cabin was very comfortable for our diverse age group. Nice areas to walk, sled and a beautiful playground. Within minutes is the skating ring, skiing and finish the day off With great dinning at a local pizza place! Can’t wait to come back, and any questions you have are promptly answered by host!

Great cabin we are going back again!

We loved this cabin and had a great time. We used the sledding hill in the community which was fun and easy to get to. We were unable to use the patio as it was covered in snow. We managed to clear a path to the bbq and use it which nice and had an extra tank. We maxed out every bed and all 11 slept well. Only down side was trying to find the wood pile in the snow and it was almost impossible to get to the wood so we had to go buy some the next day. We are going back this summer and are planning our next visit. This is a great spot!

Great place for a family get together

The children loved the playground since we did not have snow for four days so bring basketball balls, football and a softball so they can play basketball, kickball or football.Bring board games also. On the last two days, it finally snowed and everyone was delighted because the house was on a hill and they sled on the slope. Lots of blankets, sheets, towels, and firm mattresses but no pot holders, colander, nor potato masher. Bathrooms were very clean but mold in the inside siding in the lower level where the children slept were a concern. We tried vacuum cleaning the living but the vacuum cleaner was useless. Thank you for allowing us to rent your cabin.

2nd time staying and we will be back!!

We came for the our annual snow trip, but there was NO SNOW!! We were shocked but we made the best of it. The cabin is a gem and we truly enjoyed our time here. Spacious and clean and very well organized. Darlene was very communicative and responsive to any questions I had prior to our trip. Our first time here, my niece had made all arrangements and was familiar with the area. We were not and this was my first time booking with VRBO and driving into the Pinecrest area, so we were a bit anxious about being able to locate the cabin but it all went smoothly. The lockbox location across from the gas station was a little bit hard to find, but we found it!! I suggest bringing your own wood because the wood that is at the cabin was too wet to use. Also, they have a great variety of pans to use, but if you are looking for a certain type of pan, just bring it to be on the safe side! (I forgot my crockpot, but my niece was able to bring her stockpot for Birria) Thank you Darlene and team for a wonderful stay!!v

Winter Wonderland

We stayed a few nights during my daughter's ski week in late February. We enjoyed our time there and Darlene was able to assist whenever we had any questions - usually due to my human error. She was able to walk me through how to put the lock box back and use the wood burning stove (I'm not the most handy, if you couldn't tell). The cabin itself was extremely nice. Our kids loved it. It's near some nice sledding areas and not too far from groceries and restaurants. Dragging the kids around the neighborhood in the sleds was fun too. We were joined by another couple and their kids and there was more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable. The only real complaint can also be seen as positive: there is very poor cellular reception and no Wi-Fi. There's no TV reception and only a DVD player. Stressful for dad working but a great way to force the kids to experience the outdoors. It's an easy drive from the Bay Area. There is a local park, pool and pond so a summer trip might be in the works :)

Great spot!

Darlene, the property manager was very responsive & communicative. The cabin was perfect for our 2 families (9 total). The gated community with playground was perfect for the kids. The cabin is pretty well stocked with kitchen basics. Just know that you have to bring your own salt, pepper, seasonings, dish soap, hand soap, etc. Fun spot that we will come back to!

The information given prior to arrival lets you know to bring what you need. Basically everyone has their own food items, soaps etc at home to bring up so they know they are safe in these times. Great House for a Big Family!

The house is spacious and perfect for a big family with a beautiful deck shaded by trees which are perfect for the summer. The open loft made the house feel more spacious, and the large beautiful windows allow a lot of natural light to come through. Although a little outdated, the house has all the necessities and is located a short 15-20 min drive to Pinecrest Lake and less than a 10 min drive to Zoe's Coffee (great little coffee shop with WiFi) and Twaine Hart market. My family of 10 stayed for a whole week, and it was perfect!

Loved this cabin!

We had an amazing time renting this cabin! We looked into sledding parks, and then realized we had the best location behind the cabin. The kids had a blast sledding! Highly recommend!

Peace from the city

Hi, I'm glad you had a peaceful stay. This cabin is great for a disconnect. It's nice to actually take a vacation. The cabins that don't get a good cell signal have house phones for local calling and we recommend to bring a calling card for long distance calls. We have an 888# to reach us. There are spots on the mountain that don't get a good signal, lots of trees, which is ok. It's a really peaceful place for families and the little lake with playground area is convenient for kids. Weekend get away

Loved the cabin and the location . The list of need to know need to be updated. It states a charcoal bbq which it’s actually propane. ATT cell service does work, Verizon did not. We enjoyed the park and playing in the snow. Hopefully we can make this a yearly trip . It is beautiful waking up to seeing everything covered in snow

Hi, I'm so glad you had a great time. It's good to know atts new tower is working. We do have 888# that works from the cabin phone. I'll check vrbo listing for the bbq information. Thanks for letting me know, we replaced the bbq and it was updated in the vrbo app but I'll look to make sure its updated on the other apps. Great place!

While I was impressed with the photos of the property, they didn't do justice to how spacious and comfortable it actually was. Well stocked kitchen (cooking supplies), a beautiful deck and lots of space made our stay better than I had hoped for. While the lack of Wifi caused from grumbles for my kids who love their internet, it gave us a chance to bond more and find ways to enjoy ourselves together as opposed to individually staring at our screens. The surrounding area is beautiful mountains and forests that I missed since my days camping as a Scout. You will not regret renting this property!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience as a family. The cabin is a big wonderful place with 3 spacious floors. Wifi up here is difficult, line of site with trees from 50-75ft. I know what you mean about camp when you were a kid, before I moved here from city, as a kid I went to camp and just took pictures of trees, I was hooked. It's truly a wonderful experience every kid should have coming to mountains and nature. It was a pleasure to serve you. Thanks Darlene

Clean place

The cabin was really clean and organized. It has everything you need when you away from home the only thing it doesn’t have is your shampoo. The propane bbq makes it really easy to bbq outside on the big balcony. Overall really nice cabin to stay.

Wonderful Fathers Day trip

Beautiful cabin in prime location. Kitchen well stocked, huge bunk room for the kids, big beautiful deck to hang out on. Hoping to come back again soon!

When I started, the cabins didn't even have TV, it was the forest and fun that drew guests up the mountain to play, swim, fish, hike, bike, horseback ride and visit Columbia State Park, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, Pinecrest lake, Ice skating, snow play, Tuolumne and Stainislaus River, big Trees and so much more. It has been a pleasure to serve thousands of guests over the years. We do our very best to make each stay a great experience. The crew works exceptionally hard to keep everything going!
