Beachfront House - Right on the Beach in Ocean Beach

This private home is in an amazing Ocean Beach (OB) location ā€“ steps to the beach with great views and amenities.

This recently remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on the 2nd story level features a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops. All the kitchen appliances and utensils you need for a relaxing vacation including: blender, coffeemaker, toaster oven and full-size oven, 5-burner gas stove and a variety of pots and pans. The kitchen also has a bar-height counter and stools in addition to the dining area table with amazing views of the beach. Watch the sunset as you dine.

The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, vaulted ceiling, and access to an outdoor patio, unique custom bath with tropical tiling, oversized tub and custom shower.

The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both feature tropical dƩcor and queen and full-sized beds, respectively. 4th bedroom is a lockout available upon request with additional fee.

This house also includes a private tropical patio area as well as a balcony off of the entryway and master bedroom. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. 1 off-street parking spot provided.

For entertainment and business (if you choose to do any) this house features an HDTV along with wireless internet access.

Nice quiet OB location, yet close to everything San Diego has to offer. With only a few steps to the beach you canā€™t beat this location ā€“ perfect for surfing, kayaking, body boarding ā€“ or just relaxing on the beach. You can even watch the surferā€™s and beach action right from the dining room table - you may even see dolphins playing in the surf. With views from living room, dining room and kitchen you will never feel far from the beach.

This house is an easy walk (just a few blocks) to the famous OB pier (the longest concrete pier on the west coast) and the main business district of Ocean Beach ā€“ Newport Avenue. On Newport you will find restaurants (ask about our favorites), antique stores, coffee houses, bars, bike and surf shops. On Wednesday evenings Newport Avenue features a Farmerā€™s Market where you can find local fruits, vegetables and flowers, street performances and food vendors.

I should have read the listing more carefully. I thought it was right on the beach. I didnt realize they make a flood wall during winter. Ocean beach has changed since I lived in San Diego 30 years ago. The kitchen was great. 2 out of the 3 beds werent great bit the host was great and we had a super time. We are getting old and fussy lol

Great stay in OB!

OB is a classic San Diego neighborhood and this is the place to enjoy it. Walking distance to anything you want, and a short uber from all the best SD has to offer.

Great Beach Getaway

The owner has created a cozy home away from home! We enjoyed the art throughout the house, the stained glass window, and the mosaic decorative art in the bathroom and on the outside staircase. There is an amazing view of the ocean and easy access to a beautiful beach! We enjoyed walking the beach in the mornings and watching the surfers, then continuing up the beach to dog beach to watch the dogs playing in the water. And everyone cleans up after their dogs and is respectful. There are also lifeguards, which we were happy to see as our kids (ages 12 and 16) enjoyed boogie boarding. Check in and check out were very easy and everything was hassle free. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Pros: ocean view from dining room, lovely and spacious bathrooms, large and well equipped kitchen, good beach chairs and equipment for children. Comfortable beds. Cons: stressful check in due to being given wrong code for door and host not picking up calls (a friend had to check on host as she was not responding to us or VRBO). Ice maker did not work, photo showed gas grill as well as binder but no gas grill. Marijuana smell was thick on Sunday coming from neighbors, take ear plugs as house is under flight path. I will probably get a negative review as guest as I assumed there would be parking for 2 cars since it sleeps 8.

This experience was unacceptable and extremely stressful, particularly because it was our family Christmas vacation.Upon arrival, the home was unsanitary and clearly not properly cleaned. We observed:Spider webs throughout the main living areaGeneral uncleanliness that did not reflect a paid cleaning feeNo batteries in the fire alarmNo carbon monoxide detector presentThese are basic safety requirements, especially for a home accommodating families and children. We were traveling with our family and immediately felt unsafe and uncomfortable.When I contacted the host to report the condition of the home, I sent photos documenting the issues. Instead of addressing the concerns professionally, the host was dismissive and disrespectful and explicitly told me not to contact VRBO. This response alone was alarming.Because of the condition of the home and lack of immediate support, my husband and I had to clean the house ourselves late into the night, purchase cleaning supplies, and buy a carbon monoxide detector just to feel safe enough to stay. This was not how we planned to spend the start of a holiday trip.I contacted VRBO multiple times, provided documentation, and requested reasonable remediation. Despite the seriousness of the sanitation and safety issues:VRBO was slow to respondThe concerns were repeatedly minimized or dismissedNo comparable alternative property was offeredWe were told the host would only refund the cleaning feeWe requested at least a one-day.
The living room my family and I walked into. The beds had dirty sheets and un-made, the fridge had shaved hair pieces. And the room downstairs was open and had a foul smell, we bought candles.

Excellent beach getaway!

Amazing nicely decorated property with an incredible view of the beach and the sunset. Great water pressure. Great location walkable to a lot of restaurants, right at the beach, with beach toys and gear available to use. Susan the host was very responsive and easy to get a hold of, communicated well. 10/10!

Beautiful Biking in San Diego

Great location for our biking group to stay as we toured around San Diego. There were 6 in our group, the house was very comfortable for us, with a big kitchen, dining area and sitting areas. We were able to store our bikes outside and under cover. This location is also close to plenty of restaurants in the center of Ocean Beach, bird watching on the San Diego river and watching the sunset. Ocean Beach has a classic hippie-surfer vibe...friendly, laid back & eclectic! We really enjoyed our stay :-)

Canā€™t beat the location for walkability to the beach or shops/restaurants. 15 min from the zoo. Perfect place to bring the family for a San Diego trip.

Great Family Beach Vacation

We absoultely loved Susan beach house. It was super cozy and made us feel at home. No issues, except we had to leave. It was so great waking up on the beach each morning. Everything is very walkable.

What a great spot

Property is well equipped well cared for and beautiful. How nice to be so close to a fabulous beach, with a parking place too. The owner was very cooperative in helping deal with glitches in getting into the unit. We had a great stay!

I bought this property when we were in our early 30's. I have used it as our primary residence and as a rental for over 40 years. We completed a major remodel in 2007 and since then have continued to make additional improvements each year. I now live here for about 4-5 months in the winter and then in a small town of Nevada City the rest of the year. I love my OB home as do our kids and grandkids who love spending time with me at the beach. Great California beach community!!!

I have owned many homes in Ocean Beach over the last 35+ years. They have all had their own unique qualities but in the end I chose this unit as my favorite because of a combination of view, closeness to the beach and walking distance to restaurants, breweries and shopping in OB.
