Heart of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail

Conveniently located in Hector, NY, on the east side of Seneca Lake. This beautifully renovated farmhouse cottage is bordered by vineyards owned by Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards. During warmer months, enjoy a glass of wine sitting on the large back deck while surrounded by grapevines. In the evenings, enjoy a relaxing evening on the deck around our gas-powered fire pit. The wrap-around front porch provides cool shade and wonderful breeze for hotter days. For winter rentals, the house is fully insulated and heated by a gas furnace, with an electric fireplace for ambiance and a cozy winter stay.

Inside you will find hardwood floors throughout the dining and living rooms, a kitchen with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator with in-the-door ice and water. A few steps down from the kitchen is a cozy sunroom - perfect for morning coffee! The large full bathroom includes a washer and dryer for our guests' convenience. The second floor features two bedrooms with an incredible view of the vineyards and Seneca Lake from the master bedroom.

ā€œHector Vineyard Cottageā€ sleeps four to six persons ā€“ two in each bedroom, and two on the living room futon (with a queen-size mattress). Bedrooms feature two twin beds that can be arranged as separate twins or put together as a king-size bed with a comfy king-size mattress pad - just let us know what you prefer!

Other amenities: linens (sheets, pillow cases, blankets, mattress pads) provided. Guests should bring their bath towels. Pack and Play portable playard available. Public water. Charcoal grill (don't forget your charcoal), dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker and Keurig, toaster, ironing board and iron. Basic paper products supplied. Basic satellite TV service, smart tv, free wifi, and excellent cell coverage area.

Hector Wine Company is just across Route 414 ā€“ perfect for walking over to enjoy their weekend live music and a glass of wine on their patio. Be sure to check out their artisanal marketplace for fresh, local foods, including meats, cheeses, veggies, and more!

Some of Seneca Lakeā€™s best-known wineries and restaurants are all within less than five miles from the cottage including Wagner Vineyards & the Ginny Lee Cafe, Scale House Brewery, Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards, Leidenfrost Vineyards, Stonecat Cafe, Red Newt Wine Cellars & Bistro, Damiani Wine Cellars, Atwater Vineyards, Two Goats Brewing, and Finger Lakes Distilling. Enjoy wine tasting, live music and other ā€œoff-hourā€ events hosted by the wineries and restaurants.

Although we do not have lake access, Smith Memorial Park is just 1.5 miles away with a public boat launch, swimming beach, picnic facilities and a small playground. Lodi Point is about 10 minutes north, Clute Memorial Park is 10 minutes south, and Watkins Glen State Park is just 15-20 minutes away.

This house was perfect for us!!! My 3 siblings and I surprised our mom for a surprise getaway to celebrate her 70th birthday. The house and location were wonderful! We visited many local wineries/breweries and restaurants. We would definitely rent again. Our only complaint was the beds. They need to be a bit bigger and a little more comfortable.

We stayed here last year and this year and as always it's clean and a perfect location. Such a cute cottage not eh wine trail! Close to so many vineyards and Watkins Glen is 10 minutes south. Great location and house to stay.

Clean and comfy! Great location; was a walk away from a great winery and close to many main attractions in the area. The view off the back deck was beautiful. Host was very responsive. We would definitely come back!

The house was very clean. The location was great. We enjoyed the Hazlitt Winery being close and their Friday night music.We really enjoyed the Muranda Cheese Factory and the great band they had Sunday afternoon. We would definitely stay then again. Jen was excellent at replying to my emails. The house had everything we needed.Thanks Jen for everything.

We had a great stay! The house is a little close to the road which I didn't realize, but the backyard, front/side porch and back deck were amazing! Inside space was great for our family of four. We added a day to our stay and the owners were very accomodating. Would definitely recommend this place!

Peaceful and comfortable stay!

A pleasant stay at this quaint and cozy home. Jen was responsive and courteous with her communication. The house was full of charm and character, and the views of the lake were beautiful from the back deck. Just be careful of the low ceilings upstairs. Highly recommended!

Perfect accommodations!!!

Perfect accommodations for our long weekend cute little house with a beautiful view of the mountains. Our host really had the house equipped with everything right down to the Last Detail. Also supplied us with a complimentary bottle of wine. everything was a short drive to wineries breweries and Watkins Glen State Park. I would definitely rent this property again.

First impression it was a nice little house in a great location. Porch was perfect for this farm house. When we opened the door, you got a strong musty smell. The basement must get damp. We opened windows to air it out. For a weekend home base, it worked. The lights didnt work in the sunroom

Perfect location

This was the perfect location for our stay at Seneca Lake. Everything was in driving distance and it was quiet and right off the main road. This little cottage was great for a birthday celebration with friends! Jen the property owner was easy to work with and kept us well informed for our stay!

Cute house in a vineyard

Group of 4 - we had a WONDERFUL stay. Property exactly as advertised. EXCELLENT location - especially for wineries on the west side of Seneca Lake - you can even walk to a few of them. Great porch and back deck. House has everything you need and is very comfortable and clean. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.
