Great Condo with Perfect Views

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at unit 2113 many times over the years, and it is the best location in all of Sandpiper Cove. There is only one negative, and that is the door lock frequently does not work when first checking into the unit. This has occurred five times in my last six stays. Very frustrating that no one can solve the mystery, but it is still a great unit.

The condo was nice, for the most part. However, we stayed there 3 days, and, in the span of 24 hours, we spotted cockroaches 5 times within the condo, and they were very large. We killed 3 of them, and we had no idea if the remaining two times we saw the cockroaches were the same or different cockroaches that we killed. Regardless of it being either 3 or 5 times, that’s 3 or 5 times too many cockroaches. Besides that, the condo was nice, but it’s clear that it has been a while since any type of pest control has swept through the condos.

Sorry To Not Be Accepted To Return Renting SPC Unit #2113 In 2025

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Escapia misquoted this review as 29 days In March, 2014 when it should correct to 29 days in February, 2024.Although my recently [July, 2023] deceased late wife Jane and I enjoyed about 10 wonderful years at Sandpiper Cove #2113 until last year, above average rent increases discouraged our pleasure. Accordingly my most recent rental review may have seemed excessively negative, intending that your management embrace it to learn by its renters perceptions; negatives and positives. Businesses must not dismiss or 'begrudge' the negative feedback, which sadly was the case here. On Feb. 28/24 when attempting to exercise what I thought to be my prerogative of again reserving the same unit for winter 2025, which earlier staff allowed my later decision, I was faced with an irreversible SPC management decision that the unit was already rented/committed for my slot next year BECAUSE I WAS NOT ONLY LATE WITH MY DECISION, BUT THAT MY CONSIDERABLE NEGATIVE [EARLIER] REVIEW WAS [INAPPROPRIATELY] INTERPRETED THAT I WOULD NOT WANT THE UNIT AGAIN. Also, implying that the owner approved another tenant! I was referred to your SPC Manager of rentals who was carefully guarded not to directly insult me, but was what I felt was unacceptably discourteous, abruptly dismissing me, without even perhaps offering me other unit alternatives or options. SPC's wonderful counter staff witnessed this very uncomfortable exchange with apparent disbelief. Rather than embarrass myself, my reputation, and onlookers with further unfriendly banter I simply left; and discounted any immediate thoughts of escalating to higher industry advisory boards. Now, please accept this criticism as positive, and review it with the appropriate management staff, who may have been 'deemed to only doing her job'.

Reviewer Comments: After about 10 happy years renting this condo unit, and before my precious 58 year married wife Jane passed away 6 months ago, we had last season booked to return again, DESPITE THE OUTRAGEOUS IMPOSED NON-NEGOTIABLE RENT INCREASE OF 94%; CALL THAT AN UNCONCIOUSABLE DOUBLE!!!! Destin popularity, supply and demand together with lucrative 'Spring Breakers' have seen overall general area rent increases investigated to be roughly 10%-30%, but inquiries unanimously offered that 94% was totally unwarranted. So, reluctantly I have to caution future renters to judge if the tired 1980's vintage décor is worth it. You're not getting luxury for the luxury price. Pleased with the rental office staff, especially Joellen.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Best view and one of the closest units to the water. Has gotten crazy expensive, but probably eliminates the undesirables. Everything works and had rebuilt the deck with newer furniture as well finally. Was cool, comfortable, and clean. Secure gated entry and convenient to grocery stores, airport, harbor, and great restaurants. Beach guys set up exactly where we requested and like to be each morning. Stayed in 2113 many years and do not know of a better view or location, close to the water. Miss the repeat stay discount and the reasonable rental rates. Thank you to the owners for sharing this property with us, the location is why we stay here. Always a special time.

This unit would not be good for someone with physical limitations because of stairs and tall bathtub step, but it was not a problem for us.Service and food at Rick's was great, best we had in Destin!

Reviewer Comments: After returning from government mandated COVID absences, to this desirable gulf front location enjoyed for several 3 month winters, we regret that outrageous 92%!!!! rent increases have priced this somewhat tired condo out of our 'reasonable' budget !! Together with our attempts to negotiate a fairer rent, the rental agency's unrelenting position requires that we leave for alternate accommodation's elsewhere.

Reviewer Comments: After returning from a 2 year COVID absence, our 8+ years at this our favourite unit, and 4 years at a different unit in Sandpiper Cove, has unfortunately left us bewildered and disappointed at the ongoing tiredness of furniture, kitchen accessories, and décor long past their [1980's!?!] expiry date. But, more importantly, the intolerable, outrageous 94%!!! monthly rent increase, read double!!; plus, decreasing 3 full months to just 2 1/2 months to only mid - March, Spring Break time! Our attempts to negotiate a budget friendly decrease, failed to have a senior SPC rental agent respond to our 3 formal requests for an appointment. [Other SPC and Destin area comparative rent increases are generally in the understandable/acceptable 4%-8% range.] Sadly, my wife and I are actively being interviewed for more elegant, ocean view, and affordable like units elsewhere in the Destin area. This units ownership is sensitive to our dilemma, but states unable to overrule the "system's" pricing. So, Brian & Jane bid Farewell to our 'second home'.

However, once that was dealt with, we had nothing but a beautiful view and anytime we wanted to see the beach all we had to do was open our balcony door. Condo was clean and decorated nicely.

The rental itself was in pretty good shape and had just about anything you could need. The only drawbacks were 1) maintenance - there were loose boards/screws on the back deck that could be dangerous, and 2) the couch seemed grungy/stained but that was about it. Thanks!

Annual Vacation Trip

A few things to be prepared for... the dishwasher does not work and the washer only washes with hot water (no matter the setting). We called maintenance twice and left a message but they never returned the call.
