Surf Court 70 - Forest Beach Townhouse

Surf Court 70 is a two-story townhouse with a street level entry and first floor. King bed in the primary bedroom, double and twin beds in bedroom 2 plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. Surf Court 70 is 1 block from the beach and also from Van der Meer Tennis Center. Vacationers will enjoy an easy stroll to and from the ocean. In addition, guests are able to park right in front of the entry door of the condo. Living room sliders open to a first floor patio to provide easy access to the beautifully landscaped courtyard and large swimming pool. Surf Court is within 3 blocks of Coligny Plaza and the new Lowcountry Celebration Park. This quaint downtown area offers guests a wide selection of restaurants, shopping venues, and entertainment for all ages.

Accommodations had everything we needed. Slight musty smell at check-in. King-size mattress in master bedroom was very comfortable. Slept great! Perfect location!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This Surf Court unit is definitely more outdated than others we have stayed in the past. It was clean but an older style - there are no overhead lights or ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms or in the living space. Also, we were never told the pool would be “closed for the season” when booking or when we arrived at the unit. We found out by a sign on the pool gate, and we feel as if that was false advertising and it was not fair that it was never shared during booking.

We really liked the property layout and size. It fit our family of 5 well. The beach location was great - just walk to the nearby road, cross, and the access was right in front of you. Like other reviews - the overall unit could use some TLC but it was a nice place. Communication with the host company was easy and they reached out with anything news we needed. Parking was was in front of the door.

Great location

This place was perfect for our last minute spring break. Walkable to beach and Coligny shopping. It was comfortable, exactly as shown/described, and had everything we needed. Thanks!

Excellent stay!

This condo was perfect! Zero complaints and I’m a picky person. The carpeting was a nice change from most places we’ve stayed on HHI. You can’t beat the proximity to the pool and being able to park at your front door (especially with small children and all the stuff that comes with them). Location was fantastic - short walk to the beach, Coligny, playground, etc. Biking on the island is our favorite. We would absolutely rent this condo again! Favorite things we did on the island this trip (other than exploring bike paths) included the pirate playground, the splash pad at Coligny, The Frosty Frog, and of course The Ice Cream Cone. We tried Poseidon and oh my gosh everyone’s food was EXCELLENT, we will definitely be back. Bonus that they take reservations (one of the few places) and the service was quick and efficient. Giuseppi’s wasn’t great (we typically get it every visit but probably won’t next time). Mellow Mushroom was delicious. We love the Piggly Wiggly for groceries. We had great weather and a wonderful visit. Made lots of great memories. Highly recommend!

Reviewer Comments: Always have enjoyed Surf Court, but this unit was the worst we've ever stayed in. Very musty, carpet looked disgusting, paneling old, dated. Felt lamps and outlets were a hazard. Mattress in master sunken in middle. Entire unit needs updated badly! Surf Court property well maintained and location good.

The Condo had a odor when we got there & we had to deodorize. The carpet was worn and there were no updates. Seashore Vacations has always provided excellent customer service and I will continue to stay at Surf Court however in another unit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed a 2-week vacation at Surf Court 70 in March 2023.Booking with Seashore Vacations is nothing but a joy. They are very well organized, helpful, keep you informed and make you feel like they are there to make your stay a great one!Unit 70 is very well located, next to the pool and across the street from the beach. It’s just a short walk to the mall with a grocery store and many other stores and restaurants.Although unit 70 is comfortable, the ground floor is a bit outdated. The unit would be much more pleasant if the carpet and furniture were updated and the built-in microwave was replaced rather than a second unit taking up counter space in the kitchen. Lastly, a propane BBQ would be great in place of the charcoal unit supplied.All in all, a nice stay and I would certainly stay in this unit again, especially if the comments above were addressed.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Obviously with the hurricane matter it was an anxioustime. We left a day early. ON the unit our main complaint would be the downstairs furnishings. Clearly outdated. Brown sofa and love seat too too big and "manly" Only one person could sit comfortably near an end table with lamp. Chairs in LR not comfortable. Tryingto move a chair back in dining room difficult both with heaviness of chairs and shag rug. Too many dining chairs. Then no patio to speak of and a rather beat up two seat table and chairs. to walk to pool you had to walk in mud as no grass had replaced a muddy pool of dirt from rain. Patio definitely needs attention. Upstairs was nice and comfy with pretty up to date colors.

Outdated decor, no frills, has the essentials except for common use condiments including salt/pepper/sugar - within walking distance to beach and major shopping center wi th lots of restaurants.

Great Value

This is a ton of space for the price. Beds are comfy. The public beach access is farther than I anticipated but still just about a 5-7 minute walk, very convenient to not have to drive. Overall fantastic property, we were all very pleased with our stay.
