Incredible mountain chalet minutes from Solitude and Brighton Ski Resorts, a summer and winter destination resort. World Class skiing, hiking, frisbee golf, mountain biking and just being in the spectacular Wasatch Range. This property has everything: 60" Internet HDTV , high speed wireless internet, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, 1000 square foot view deck, gas grill, etc., etc. If you're training for a cycling or running race, you can't find a better spot. Awesome high altitude running trails and some of the best mountain biking in the country. Bring the family and have the vacation of your life. If you're a skier, our cabin can't get any better. Walk out the front door to the best back country snow shoeing and skiing in the lower 48. If you yearn for lift assisted skiing, we are next door to Brighton and Solitude ski resorts. Uncrowded, easy to difficult groomed trails, and easy back country with return to the resort. Imagine skiing all day, returning to the cabin with a six-person hot tub, separate outdoor Finnish sauna, two large wood burning fireplaces (we provide a mix of pinion and cedar wood), every amenity you can think of. Enjoy the type of vacation most people only get to read about. Fly into Salt Lake City and an easy 45-minute drive to paradise. Summer road to Deer Valley, Park City, and the Canyons makes for easy 20-minute scenic drive. Alta and Snowbird are a 45-minute drive.

Once you book, I will send you our Vacation Rental Agreement. Please review, fill in the blanks, sign/date and return by email. Our rates do not include the Salt Lake County/Brighton City lodging/use tax charged at 14.42%. If you book in Salt Lake County and the City of Brighton, and your host does not pay this tax, they would be in violation of the law.

Wonderful cabin and close to Brighton

The place is simply outstanding and was very nice for our family of 5...all adults. Very close to Solitude and Brighton. Also close to the Silverfork Restaurant for food/takeout. Like another review stated, the private road can be a bit treacherous. We were fine until our last day, mostly because we had a warm front and snow had melted. Last day we couldn't get back up and chose to walk our luggage down and stay with my cousin in SLC. Honestly, it made for a stressful departing. The host did reach out several times to stress 4WD/Chains/"Snow Socks". The car rental company really us down and we did not have true 4WD nor the correct tires. I also found out no rental companies provide actual snow tires, but only "all season". It's important to note that you will only get up the icy private road with rugged snow tires, chains, etc. The place is amazing, but they need to find someone to properly maintain/salt the private road then this would not even be an issue. Kind of ridiculous.

Lots of space - Great for families or large groups

House was immaculate and covered all of our needs & more! Home owner very responsive via text. Kitchen well equipped for cooking as we cooked all of our meals when not on the slopes. Must buy supplies in SLC, especially in winter when snow fall & canyon roads are unpredictable - cuz you may get snowed in. We LOVE the Big Cottonwood Canyon, snowboarding & winter hiking even better when you return to a cozy fire & relaxing hot tub! In winter the road to the house is no joke (we are experienced snow/ice condition driver's)- 4 wheel drive & chains are necessary!

Great space for 5 of us to all have our own rooms, Hot tub and sauna were great after long days on the slopes. Bonus...we were able to head out on skis directly from the property for some backcountry touring. Can't wait to stay again.

Brighton/Solitude Mountain Stay

Marks home was the perfect home for me and 8 friends to enjoy our ski vacation. Marks house was equipped with everything you would like in a ski house , Hot tub ,Sauna and fireplace. Mark was super responsive when we couldn't figure out how to turn the sauna on. As noted on marks description 4 wheel drive is an absolute must as the road up to the house is a little tight. We will definitely be back to stay at Marks home.

lots of space, good beds, nice hot tub, well stocked, only problem we had is 4 ft of snow kept us from driving in and had to walk in due to big snow. owner responded well and got a plow out next morning.

Great location, great mountain house, great stay!

The house is well set up for a large group! Bottom floor with bar and game room is great! Living room on main floor had room for our whole group to watch a few bowl games. The barrel sauna and hot tub were huge bonuses! Great place for a larger group!

Fun Family Time

We really enjoyed our 5-night stay at this beautifully designed and decorated log home. There was a lot of room for everyone and it was all very clean!! We appreciated the story of the decor as it added character to our time there. One of the nice features was the hiking trail just up the road from this home. We did that hike at least 2 times during our stay. The deck and living room had incredible views. We didn't use the fireplace or hot tub or sauna, but we would have if we had time. Our days were full. The location was great for hiking of any kind. That was our main focus, so the location was really important to us. We would recommend this place to groups that like separate areas or families with 6+ people.

Beautiful, cozy cabin

This cabin is easy to get to from SLC and in a beautiful setting. There are so many woodsy, charming details. The cabin is very well equipped and there are many thoughtful amenities - throw blankets, space heaters, flashlights, nightlights, extra pillows, games, spices and condiments, and even an electric tea pot. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. We would definitley stay again!

Great location

Beautiful property and very comfortable accommodations. Our two families fit perfectly. Owner Mark is very easy to get in touch with and extremely helpful. Great to have the hot tub and the sauna! Just as an fyi, chains are needed to get up the turns and inclines to the property when it snows (having AWD or snow/ rain compatible tires as recommended for the sticker program in Cottonwood Canyon was not enough for us). Renal car companies do not allow chains on their vehicles and do not have studded snow tires as an option, so make sure you have back up options for transportation!

Wonderful cabin weekend!

Just a fantastic spot! Not far from Brighton or Solitude. This spot was perfect for our family “uncles trip”. The cabin was packed with EVERYTHING we needed. Crock pot scents after a day on the slopes? Grill worked out for NFL playoff wings. Decor and little extras went a looong way. A word about location: this cabin is at the top of a private road with some hairpin turns. 4x4 and snow tires REQUIRED. Our 4x4 van was actually too large to make some turns. Plan accordingly. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks to the great hosts for amenities and communication!

Good experience and great host

The property was excellent. Authentic log cabin in the middle of a canyon. Beautiful inside setup, from wall decorations to furniture. Convenient layout for 8 people (2 families). Everyone had their own room for the night and place to chill. Outside was beautiful as well. Lots of snow and nature and beautiful view out the window. Roads suck, but we've been warned so that's not on the host. We got stuck going up in a Q3 quattro with decent tires. Should have followed Mark's suggestions and gotten the chains, but who knew, we're city people. If you come here in the winter, definitely get a 4*4 car with chains or a lifted truck. Also try to go up the small roads in one shot, don't break. That's how we ultimately ended up going up. Sand doesn't really help. You basically have to slide back down to a flat area and gun it until you get to the house. Turn around and park facing down. If you're snowed in, you won't be able to turn around in that driveway. Also, lost power due to snow one of the days. Ended up staying in and building a puzzle. Plenty of board games and analog entertainment (books, puzzles, ...). Unfortunately no generator. Fireplace works fine. Had that going the whole day to keep warm. Location was good. Basically I'm the middle of nowhere. If you're planning to come here in the winter and ski Park City, it's probably not the best location. It's fairly close on the map, but the through canyon roads are closed until May. You have to go back up through SLC which is about a 50 min drive with no traffic. The day it snowed the drive was almost 2 hours due to a couple accidents. Get food ahead of time. The nearest store is 30 mins out. Plenty of spices and sauces at the house, but get water and everything else. Overall a good experience and an excellent host. Mark kept us up to date on the power outage and was available to answer any questions throughout the stay. Would stay again with proper planning.

Winter wondering

The home was beautiful, location beautiful and so much to do. We had issues getting to the house and the snow made the vehicles get stuck when we arrived. However once we had 4wd and chains it was no problem at all. The family had a great time!

Great location and cabin

The cabin was everything we were hoping for. It's in a great location. We wanted a place to get away to hike and relax. There are great hiking locations within walking and driving distance from the cabin and the cabins layout and view were great for relaxing after a day outside.

Great Family Getaway

My family enjoyed staying in this cabin so much! We would go hiking on the trails that were right by the house and took a few adventures just about an hour away. It was the perfect location for all that we had planned.

Amazing Location and Cabin

Cabin is fantastic, location is a couple minutes down the road from Brighton/ Solitude. Road a bit hairy in the winter with the snow but no problem for an SUV. Suana and hot tub were diving after a long day of skiing! Can't wait to be back!

We would love to stay there again!!

Even though we skied PC 2 days, the house is so special that the travel time to PC was worth it. Only concerns we had were the hairpin turn was completely ice over making it impossible to reach the house. We had to park at a neighbors house near the hairpin. I called the Mayer to request treating the surface with cinders. He got to it the following day. Also we could not turn on the sauna I could not reach Mark for instructions so I texted the manager. She was not very helpful. None the less we were very happy with our stay! Thanks Mark

Excellent location and all the amenities

Mark's home made the perfect base for accessing all the best resorts in Utah. With Solitude and Brighton up the street and Snowbird and PC within an hour a drive, the convenience made for a low effort trip. Make it a point to walk down to the Silver Fork Lodge for a plate of meatloaf and the beer and shot special. Spoiler alert: it's Hamm's and Old Crow. Mark's home had everything you need to entertain yourself on OFF days. The hot tub was large and the sauna got HOT. To work out any soreness I'd recommend the Jane Fonda fitness VHS. Could not have asked for a better place to rest up in between hitting the slopes.
