It’s a beautiful home with a large outdoor deck and lots of big windows facing the lake. The view of Mica Bay is spectacular! And it’s very nicely furnished too.We were there in mid-October when days are nice and evenings (especially next to a lake) are quite cool. Unfortunately, the indoor thermostat can’t be set any warmer than 72, so the house itself, especially the upstairs area, felt rather cold most of the time. The room my husband and I slept in had only sheets and a light bedspread, so I had to search the house for extra blankets. They really should have had at least 1 one on the bed. There were small wall heaters with fans in some rooms, but the one in the downstairs bath (which had a very nice shower in it) couldn’t be turned on so it was a bit too cool when taking a shower. The fireplace in the main level living room would be nice, but has been out of order both times we’ve rented here (this year and last). The home was clean, but there were plenty of spider webs where the ceiling and wall met. That tends to happen in fall and the owners should have their cleaners look for those.Renters should be aware the the house is located well below the road, and the rough stone stairway from your parked car to the front door zig-zags and is a bit difficult to negotiate— at least for us (all 4 of us are 70 in age). It’s a nice location and has lots room and a beautiful view. But given the limits of the heating system I would not want to be there any later than October.
