Spacious 5 bedroom/3 bath beachfront home with dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean from Monterey to Santa Cruz!

Located at Pajaro Dunes on a secluded expansive beach on the magnificent Monterey Bay coastline. The entire front of the house has windows facing the ocean. The dining table with it's long window seat is perfect for games, gathering and meals with amazing ocean views.

This award wining tri-level home is a wonderful place to gather family & friends. One bedroom, one bathroom and the family room (which can also sleep 2) are located on the entry level. Up 6 steps is the main level of the house, including living room, dining area, kitchen, and the master suite with queen bed separated from the main house across the enclosed deck. The third level is 10 steps up, and includes three bedrooms, one bathroom and no bunk beds!

The kitchen is fully stocked and equipped for your cooking needs. The separate laundry room includes a full sized washer and dryer.

Pajaro Dunes has 24-hour security, biking & jogging trails, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. Kayaking and bird watching at Elkhorn Slough are minutes away. Nearby cities such as Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel are only a 30 minute drive including famous golf courses, restaurants and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Wonderful home for large family

We enjoyed our stay in the home for our parents 50th. There was plenty of room for everyone and the location could not be beat!

This house was perfect for our whole family. Having a dining table that could seat our large group and be right next to the enormous picture window was outstanding. There was plenty of room to gather and hang out. There were enough bedrooms/beds for all of us. All of the amenities met our needs. And the awesome 70's decor and house design was brilliant! Being right on the beach made all the difference. The host was quick to respond and attentive when we needed them. Highly recommended!

Great stay

It was a perfect house for our extended family gathering of 13 which included grandparents and a handful of teens. The dining table was a great place for large groups to just hang out and admire the incredible view. It was even more spectacular than the pictures provided! We would highly recommend it.

Comfortable for family

We enjoyed our stay on the beach. The spaces were good for us to gather. The house was not well supplied (kitchen towels, toilet paper). The location was great being close to the red woods, Monterey and the beach, of course.

Perfect stay!

The house accommodated our multigeneration family stay perfectly. The kids spent the entire day on the beach, grandparents relaxed and watched from the house, and parents did all of the above. The kitchen is well stocked, and we had no issues cooking all of our meals. The house was much cleaner than other rental houses we have stayed at previously. To sum it, we look forward to staying here again!

Sunset at Your Dining Table!!

Beautiful location right on the beach. What else could you ask for more? House is very clean and the view is fabulous. Either eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner sitting at the dining table staring out to the sea is priceless!!

Very convenient beach front property

We had a family gathering with our adult children and their young children. The house was perfect - right on the beach so easy to go back and forth with sand toys and for naps and meals. The house was very child friendly and we all had so much fun being together! The hosts were very nice about the checkin and checkout times which made it easier for us with 5 grandchildren 3 and under. So much fun!

Perfect home for large family getaway

Perfect home for our large group. One of the best stocked homes we have rented at Pajaro. Beds are not very comfortable unfortunately - went from too hard to too soft, but other than that it's a wonderful home with gorgeous views. Thank you!

Loved our stay in house 5!

We so enjoyed the layout of the house. The huge table right by the window was wonderful! Some loved the protected deck. One daughter missed having an open deck. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was so convenient to be right by steps to beach!

Perfect quick getaway

Great space for a multi- family getaway! It’s clean, spacious, and full of charm. We loved the fabulous 70s decor and the amazing view from the kitchen/huge dining table. Responsive hosts. Some ants, but never been in a beach house with zero ants- didn’t bother me

Beautiful Location

Very impressed by the location, but even before coming, we realized the property is older and had not been updated for a while. We did find ants in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom. My grandkids had a wonderful time, and must say that all 14 of us had a memorable 2 days stay.

Wonderful Family Time on the Beach

The house was nearly perfect for 11 of us, including two infants. That the master suite was separate from the rest of the house by a nicely designed courtyard was just perfect to let grandparents sleep in in the morning, when the kids were up and making a lot of noise. Easy access to the beach was wonderful. The view from the long table in the main room was splendid. It can be foggy and cool at Pajaro Dunes, but our vacation was near perfect because of the house and its incredible location. Lucky owners!

Exquisite and comfy

We’ve gone to Pajaro dunes every year for probably 45 years. This is the first time we’ve stayed in this house and I’m so happy we found it. It’s large, but still feels cozy. The six of us had plenty of room and a beautiful view of the ocean. We were there to draw and watercolor, and couldn’t have been more pleased. We saw whales, dolphins as always, and we were close to the storytelling tree Which we sat and drew for several hours. The owners were wonderfully communicative.

Highly Recommended

We stayed for 3 nights and had 12 people total. The place is uniquely designed, extremely comfortable and we all walked away happy and rested. My favorite attributes about the place is the central deck with the high windows protecting us from the winds while being able to enjoy the outside and socialize, read a book, relax and BBQ at night. Also loved the suite with it's own bathroom across the deck from the rest of the house with bedroom views of the ocean. Kitchen was extremely well stocked with utensils, glassware and plates. All we had to do was bring the food. I hope to make this an annual weekend adventure going forward.

Fantastic Beach House

This house was perfect for our family trip. We had 4 children ages 7 thru 11 and 4 adults ages 38 thru 60. The house was spotlessly clean and the view was exceptional. My only suggestion would be more beach towels as there were only 3 in the house upon our arrival although this is a 5 bedroom house that sleeps up to 14. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and we had meals nightly enjoying the view from the dining table. The master suite is across the enclosed private courtyard and has it's own bathroom. The owners were great to work with and the booking process was smooth. Thank you!!

Master Bedroom Roof Leaked

We really enjoyed the design of the house, however it rained one night and the room my 88 year old parents were staying in (the separate building off to the left of the house facing west), the roof leaked onto their bed, waking them up in the night disturbing their night's sleep. Owners had to have known about it because we could see water marks on the roof in certain areas of the house. Getting into the house was difficult because the office/gate staff gave us the wrong key three times!

We are sorry that you had issues with your stay. Thanks for notifying us of the roof leak; we will have the roofing contractor out again to repair it. We will also review your poor experience with the gate house staff. They are there to help guests check-in and get settled into the house.

Family gathering for my 4th kid moving to college!!!

My daughter wanted to attend UC Santa Cruz , so for her moving day , the whole family stay at House 5 in Pajaro Dunes , about 30 minutes away from campus , this house is nice and beautiful inside and outside, the space is enough to be in there without feeling crowded, the access to the beach is just steps from main entrance and the view from dining room and kitchen are the best and enjoyable by everyone while eating breakfast or just drinking coffee early in the morning, we loved to stay at house 5 ,checking in and out went well and fast , the only thing that happens there is that no one wanted to leave and for me was a little harder to get everyone out of the house, kitchen is well stocked to cook home meals to enjoy, just someone has to pay the price of being cooking , I did it for my daughter she will be four years away from home , coming in between but is not the same , my oldest son who is married and have three daughters said, here is perfect to have thanksgiving together , definitely was a nice staying together at house 5, I personally enjoyed seeing all my children together at the table playing games , or down the stairs at the beach . Lifetime Memories

We brought our adult children and grandchildren for Christmas week to House 5. We used to spend two weeks at House 5 every summer when my children were babies, now they are grown with children of their own. It is a special place to spend time with loved ones.

Our family, from Sunnyvale California, has owned House 5 for almost 50 years. We have passed its care from our parents to the children and soon grandchildren. We all live in the Bay Area and visit the house often.

Over the years, we have gathered family & friends here for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation! Our fondest memories include playing games at the dining table ... building sandcastles on the beach ... gathering for the Thanksgiving meal amidst God's incredible creation!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The house was designed by Charles Moore and William Turnbull of MLTM / Moore Turnbull. It received one of the 1970 Excellence for Design Awards by Architectural Record.

And to answer a common question ... Yes, it is beach front. There are no houses or structures or fences between us and the incredible Monterey Bay!
