The Space:

Charming, dog-friendly, and with an ocean view, this Rockaway Beach vacation rental is a perfect family retreat. With three bedrooms, room for dogs (with an additional fee), and a rainbow of cheerfully colored walls, this home is great for a small family. Cook up some barbecue on the patio's private grill then light up the firepit to make s'mores together as the sun sinks into the sea.



What's nearby:

Beyond dipping your toes into the invigorating Pacific waters, Rockaway Beach is also in a great location to explore more of the Oregon Coast Just a little over one mile away is Lake Lytle, a lovely spot for fishing. Around town are plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, and other businesses. You can also take a visit to Oswald West State Park just over 14 miles away. Just 28 miles away is Tillamook with its famous bay and Cape Meares Lighthouse.

Rockaway get away

Rockaway was a great place to explore the Oregon coast. We especially loved the Red Cedar Wetlands boardwalk. We visited the Tillamook Creamery, the Tillamook Air Museum and Mears Cape Lighthouse. We ate local and fell in love with the Sand Dollar breakfast pies at The Beach Bakeshop. We will be back!!!!

Sweet house on a hill

We really enjoyed the location of this property. It was right on the edge of the forest but close enough to the beach to walk. In the evening we watched bats flying in the backyard and a deer walked right up to the deck. One of the biggest reasons we chose the property is the enclosed backyard which was great for our dog.

Small Cozy House

We enjoyed our stay at Rockaway Beach. The house is relatively close to the beach, and close enough to hear the waves. New washer and dryer, stove worked well and the pots and pans were in decent shape. There are some minor repairs needed: upstairs shower has a drip and the shower curtains need to be replaced. Hopefully these get taken care of for the next guest.

Quiet hideaway not too far from the beach

Our family spent a week here, along with our dog. The house is within walking distance of town and the beach, but you should be aware that the road to the driveway is a bit steep. It's nothing an average adult can't easily walk but may be a hindrance to anyone with health or mobility issues. For one who needs to drive into town, there is a public parking lot just down the hill, and we found that it was never full despite our visit being in July. The house has a private, fenced yard with a fire pit and picnic table, which was perfect for family time after adventurous days. The house was clean and had most of the amenities one will need. We mainly spent time on the beach, but we also rode the Oregon Coast Train to Garibaldi, visited the Tillamook Creamery, and explored Hug Point and Cape Meares. This was a nice central location for all of these things. We recommend the Beachside Bake Shop, Barview Jetty Taqueria, and Crab Rock Pizza (in neighboring Garibaldi).

Rockaway stay

The house is perfect, outside area so relaxing with all the trees, and the fire pit was amazing. We loved being able to walk to the beach in under 10 mins, even if the street to the house is a little steep, and being right in the heart of town for food and groceries. Lovely little stay, I think we may have to move here!!!

Cute home close to downtown

Lovely little home. No real ocean view, but it was nice to sit outside with coffee in the morning, listening to the birds and the ocean. Bring any supplies you may need; coffee, salt/pepper/spices, specific items you may need. There are a couple of pots/pans/dishes/utensils. Anything else you need, you should bring. Tv was a challenge to deal with also. Extremely firm bed and toilet tends to run upstairs. Overall, it was a nice stay though.

Private cabin

This is a private cabin with a fire pit and peek-a-boo views of the ocean. It is set up purely as a rental with no personal touches and only basic amenities. The bed was comfortable. The road up to the house is steep, as mentioned, no problem for the car and a good workout for my quads. There is no cable tv and I was only able to use Netflix. Overall, we were comfortable and happy with the cabin and had a fun vacation.

Pictue didn't do this place justice! So much better!

From the picture and price, we were expecting a much older and more worn place, but this house was so much better than pictured online. It was clean and neat, inside and out, and it had more room than it appeared in the pictures. We didn't mind being further from the ocean, but you could see it in the distance, and where you entered the beach was only about two blocks away, close enough to walk if you wished to and a few minutes if you drove. The last part was up a steep hill, as mentioned by others, but it was paved. (A grocery store is at the bottom of the hill, very convenient.) The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, etc., and the living room was comfortable and overlooked a balcony, which had a picnic table on it. It rained a couple of the days, so we didn't use the balcony, but from Rockaway Beach, we were able to visit towns and beaches in the area, both north and south. The bedrooms were comfortable and roomy. The bathrooms were clean and had lots of towels and good showers. We really enjoyed our stay and would do it again. (There was my husband and I and our grown daughter and a medium sized dog.)

Property was ok. Looked pretty much like how I expected. I was a little disappointed with the deck because I thought I would have a better view of the ocean. Lots of overgrown trees etc witch obscured my view. Access to the beach was further than i expected. Had a wonderful time though and that is what I was after. House was clean and had everything we needed for a good stay. Would go again.

In the trees

This is a private place surrounded by trees. It so quiet we all slept soundly and slept in. The neighborhood is great for walking and it is an easy walk to the beach. Decorating is fun and place was clean and inviting.

Dog Friendly and Close to everything

About a third of a mile to the beach from the property. It is on a hill, so the walk is a bit steep. Dog friendly make this a great choice for a group of people and the place can hold many.

Great place for family getaway

3 bedrooms were as described. Perfect for our family. Close enough to beach to walk. Plenty of towels, pillows, bedding. Pretty quiet place. Lots to do with fire pit and barbecue. Games, books, puzzles and movies (ok - spent too much time at beach and Tillamook cheese factory to enjoy those, but was great they were available. Would definitely recommend.

Slightly dissatisfied

The overall experience was good. Me and my guest were disappointed that one of us was forced to sleep on a twin sized bed. There are three bedrooms, one full, queen, and a twin. We were disappointed to find out that when we opened the sheets on the queen, there was dog hair and human hair and some staining. It looked as though the sheets on that bed had not been washed. Also located behind the bed of the full size, there was dust and dirt as if the cleaning was done around the furniture Instead of moving the furniture out of the way. There was also some form of liquid on the floor behind that bed as well. There were also dishes that had been put away that had either not been cleaned because of the food particles left or there was standing water in them. We were forced to wash dishes right when we got there. The rest of the house was clean and cute. Easy to get to the beach and into town.

One bed that is under the twin bed had dirty a dirty sheet, couldn't find a plunger.

Upstairs bathroom water is not draining well.
