Charming ocean-front cottage with all the comforts of home, set in a stunning Eastern New England backdrop. Relax on the deck or sloped lawn overlooking Linekin Bay, take stairs directly to a rocky beach with tidal pools, fish or swim off the public dock 50 yards away or read a book by an evening fire,

Cottage is 10 minute drive (or 2.5 miles walk) to downtown Boothbay Harbor featuring attractions such as whale watching, fishing, harbor, lighthouse, island and sailing tours, art galleries, live music, fine dining and other entertainment venues.

The area is legendary for sailing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, Excellent and convenient base for day trips to Camden, Rockland, Portland Old Port, Bath Maritime Museum, Damariscotta, and Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.

Approximately 1 hour from Brunswick/Amtrak, 1.5 hours from Portland/PWM, 3 hrs from Boston/Logan, 4 hours from Southern New England.

Location and coziness

Our family had an unforgettable 5 day stay at this cute red house. It was a very convenient and quiet location with everything provided. Everyone was comfortable and happy!

Beautiful peaceful waterfront

The cottage on Linekin Bay, just a few miles from downtown Boothbay Harbor is a great place to stay. Lovely view from a brand new covered deck, fully equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms. Fun to sit and watch the fishing and lobster boats at work, or get out there in your own watercraft!

Relaxing!

The house worked out perfectly for us. The location was great, and it had everything we needed. We love it here. The deck overlooking the bay was put to good use... Chuck (the owner) was extremely responsive to any questions we had, and recommended several places for us to check out while we were there. If you're looking for a place to just "chill out", this is it!

Wonderful Oceanfront Cottage

Our family of four adults had a wonderful time. The cottage is very clean, the kitchen was so well stocked, and it was lovely just sitting on the porch overlooking the bay (the chairs/table are all high barstool types and our one wish was that there had been some regular height chairs to lean back and relax into, but that's a very small thing). There were plenty of towels/washcloths, there were fans in the bedrooms- the owners have clearly worked to make sure their renters' stays are comfortable. It's a quick drive into town for shopping, restaurants and boat tours, but also peaceful and tucked away if you just want to read books and watch lobster boats. The owners were super responsive and friendly. We had a great week - thank you for your hospitality!

Authentic Maine at it's very best!

6 Bay Street is truly a wonderful and charming oceanfront cottage. We have vacationed in East Boothbay for over 35 years so trust me when I say this is the perfect home if you want the perfect coastal Maine experience. The location is exceptional and directly facing the rocky shoreline of Linekin Bay ....just steps to the water and a short walk to the public dock. The outdoor porch is plenty large enough for grilling, eating meals, birdwatching, harbor watching, enjoying cocktails or morning coffee. The home itself is larger than you would expect and can easily accommodate 8+ with lots of comfortable beds, two updated bathrooms, a large open kitchen and a cozy family room for movie night. My elderly mother especially appreciated the first-floor bedroom with connected bathroom. This cottage is absolutely loaded with kitchen utensils, cookware, spices, etc. You won't have to purchase things like napkins, garbage bags, tinfoil and on and on.... it's all stocked which makes life so much easier. And you will never find a home with more fresh towels, washcloths, bedding, pillows and the like. Also, not to be missed is the proximity to the East Boothbay General Store. It's a beautiful 10-minute morning walk for breakfast and an awesome way to start the day. Chuck took care of everything for us, answered all of our questions and made sure our stay was an amazing experience. You can search up and down the coast but if you want Maine at its authentic best, you will not find a better home than this.

Classic Maine Coastal Cottage

A great time in MAINE. Family enjoyed the out of the traffic locations, but close to Boothbay Harbor if you want. A short walk up to the East Boothbay General Store, check them out. One of our favorite things was just sitting on the porch and looking out over the water, day and night. Daughters liked to poke around in the rocks and in seaweed looking for crabs and sea glass (and the good WiFi).

Amazing Place

So nice to be in a true Maine cottage! Great location for wildlife viewing, we saw a bald eagle, juvenile bald eagle, mink, and seals. We were also able to watch the lobstermen and the Cabbage Island Clambake, while they worked. The owners were outstanding and responsive. Excellent communication.

Wonderful cottage at a great spot

We spent a week with friend at this really special oceanfront cottage. The house is absolutely charming and basically directly located at the water. A great place to relax and do nothing or to be very active. We went swimming and fishing off the public dock, played hide and seek with the kids around the house and explored the area e.g. we made a trip to Monhegan island, went digging for mussels at the beach, visited the Boothbay botanical garden and enjoyed the great food at the East Boothbay General Store. The communication with Chuck was really smooth and friendly. Chuck always responded extremely fast and professional. I can truly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful spot on the water

Great cottage, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Clean. On the water, beautiful view, we saw herons and several bald eagles at close proximity. Very nice spot!

Beautiful Oceanfront Red Cottage

Our group of six friends spent a week at this gorgeous oceanfront property in Boothbay. The adorable house is just steps from the water so we spent most of our time swimming off the public dock, hanging out on the lawns, grilling on the deck, watching sunrises, and playing board games at night. Check in was smooth and the owners were prompt to respond to questions, and had some really helpful local suggestions. Check out was also easy and it was really nice of Chuck to let us have a late checkout, and also recommend places for us to stay another night since we were looking to extend. The downstairs bedroom and the bathrooms are new/modern; the upstairs are a bit older but the cottage has a truly charming rustic feel. The kitchen was well stocked, so we cooked many meals soaking in that gorgeous view. The best part was the deck with a gas grill, where we cooked some amazing meats and lobster. It was also heartwarming to read about the history of the cottage. Thanks Chuck Lori and Bob! GPS tip: If mapping using google maps, look for Five Gables Inn, as the GPS will not otherwise locate this address.

Perfect home base

This house was absolutely perfect for our vacation. We were 3 adults and 3 children (14, 4 and 2). There was plenty of room for everyone. We went out exploring the area during most of the day, but it was wonderful to be able to come back to the cottage for dinner each night. There are so many things to do. Kayaking trips from the town launch and swimming from the public dock all in easy walking distance. Boothbay Harbor is a cute town with lots of shops and restaurants and is a quick 10 minute drive. Bob and Chuck were wonderful. Easily accessible and helpful with suggestions on places to go. We look forward to our next trip!

Perfect Maine Waterfront Cottage

We were so excited to check off a Maine beach cottage rental off our travel bucket list. This property is in a perfect location in Boothbay. We spent hours swimming and kayaking just steps away from the cottage. Nothing beats waking up and drinking coffee on the back patio. There is a great general store within a 10 minute walk - we ordered breakfast sandwiches there almost every day. Hosts were excellent and truly cared about our experience. Cottage is rustic, clean and fully stocked for those of us who enjoy cooking. I’ll definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Amazing view!

If you want relaxation & quite, this place is for you. The house looks onto the Linekin Bay with a stunning view of the water & surround nature. We spotted seals, eagles, and tons of birds from the deck. My husband & I went during Covid & didn’t go out much. We basically stayed put & sat on the deck, kayaked, and swam off the (very close by) town dock. It was heaven. There is a great little general store within walking distance. The owners were very easy to work with & helpful. We had no issues at all. We found it very hard to leave.

Delightful Stay

Loved scenery,quiet, and comfort of East Boothbay. Enjoyed local coastline and fall colors. Home was comfortable and rustic. The owners were sweet and made every effort to ensure our group of six had what we needed. The house was well stocked and had plenty of space. Sitting on the deck in the morning was especially nice.

Exactly as described & clean seafront house

We had an amazing stay here. Easy check-in, check-out, clean house (clean sheets !) with sea view and ideal localisation. A bit rustical but soooo charming! We definitely recommend this house to every family.

Family vacation on the Bay

Bob and Chuck made our first trip to Maine so easy! Always very responsive and helpful with random questions, we really appreciated their help! We loved our time on Linekin Bay and the plethora of bedrooms was great for the three kids and four adults in our group. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, enjoying the view and many short day trips out from the house. The house provides easy access to Boothbay Harbor and it’s restaurants and shops but is removed enough from the hustle and bustle, just as we had hoped. Did I mention the amazing views? It was also very fund for our kids to get to see the lobstering happening right in their backyard. The house is more “rustic” than we had expected (with a musty odor that got better once the windows had been open for a while). Definitely note there is not laundry on-site (it’s not advertised that there is but to be honest, I didn’t even think to look) but there is a decent laundromat not too far away if necessary. The houses is also very close to neighbors (as advertised) but we had no issues with noise. Overall a great stay and a great little area of Maine.

Amazing Family Vacation

My family just spent an amazing week at this cottage and it was really hard to leave! The location is right on the Linekin Bay and all our kids had a blast. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed and Chuck was so helpful with all the recommendations for things to do, eat, and see. I highly recommend a lobster boat excursion with Mark Stover too (Redhook Charter). He was very knowledgeable (grew up in the area) and showed us many different sites, including the seals. Location to Boothbay Harbor was a quick 5 minute drive and we did several day trips as well - Botanical garden (wife and daughter), Lobster boat tour, Camden State Park, and Pemaquid Lighthouse to name a few. Food and drink were awesome as well! My sons also enjoyed swimming from the dock and catching (and releasing) Striper fish from the Bay. It was a very relaxing vacation that covered all the bases for sure. Everyone had a great time! It's hard to put into words the beauty and tranquility of the area.

Cozy and comfortable!

We had a wonderful week in this charming cottage. Plenty to do close by or just relaxed on the deck and watched all the activity and wildlife in the bay! Great owners, very helpful. Would defiantly recommend.

The cottage is adorable! Very clean and spacious,

We rented this cottage for a week. There were three adults and three teenagers. The cottage is very spacious.The views from the back deck are amazing. The kids really enjoyed fishing and looking for shells and sea glass right behind the house. There are three bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. There were also spices,condiments, and other kitchen staples. The bedrooms were all very comfy. There is no AC, but with the windows open and the fans on it is quite comfortable. The owners are very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We have already decided to book again next year!

Memorable and inspiring views

The views from this house are truly amazing. It is a beautiful bay and the location of the house can't be beat. Minutes to the beautiful Ocean Point and a quick trip to Boothbay Harbor. It is an older house with older appliances and a well equipped (pots and pans, utensils) kitchen. The bathrooms are newer and quite nice. We were there with octogenarians and a five-year old and everything in the house was quite accessible. The steps to the water from the house are very steep and access to the rocky beach by the town pier is also steep and slippery, so keep that in mind. We were there during a pretty warm week and the fans in every bedroom, coupled with open windows kept us comfortable at night. We enjoyed our week!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Our family spent a week in July at this wonderful cottage and had a fantastic time. The cottage is spotless, comfortable and well equipped. The porch is an amazing place to relax and read or just look at the beautiful view and we spent a tremendous amount of time out there. We saw bald eagles and ospreys fish for their dinner every day. One eagle landed in a tree about 50 feet from the porch and sat there for a bit. It was a spectacular sight. Our four grandsons ranging in age from 14 down to 9 were in constant motion and we didn't turn on the TV once the whole week. They swam daily, caught a total of 14 small lobsters, and came up with oysters and clams as well. They fished off the town dock that is just a short walk away and caught several (unidentified) fish. All creatures were returned to the bay but the boys had a load of fun catching and releasing and picking through the seaweed along the shore looking for critters and shells. It's a wonderful place for kids to explore. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to spend a week or two away from it all, yet be close enough that Boothbay Harbor is just a short drive away, this is the place. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had prior to our visit and as mentioned above, the property was spotless. We had everything we needed. The East Boothbay General Store is within walking distance and makes fantastic sandwiches and homemade cookies and pastries. They make a breakfast pizza that the boys loved so we indulged them a couple of mornings and got to relax with coffee on the porch without having to cook. Win-win!

This property has been in our family for over 3 generations. Originally built as a summer vacation home, this is where learned to swim, row a skiff, fish for Mackerel and Flounder, and dig for clams. Summers at the cottage created life long memories; it was a place we always loved to visit as children, and still enjoy as adults.
