Step onto the spacious balcony, accessible from both the living room and master bedroom, and soak in breathtaking Gulf and pool views. This modern retreat features two completely brand-new bathrooms, custom-built closets, Pottery Barn bedding, and a brand new state-of-the-art air conditioning system. Stylish furnishings that include a super-comfortable, oversized West Elm sectional sofa, chic décor, freshly painted walls, and an updated kitchen with new countertops and appliances complete this dream getaway. Relax, unwind, and enjoy beachfront living at its finest.

Surf Side Shores #2205 is a Gulf-front 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium located on the 2nd floor in building II overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 820 sq ft with views of the Gulf from the living room and Gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size washer and dryer. There are 2 full en suite bathrooms. The master bathroom has a tub/shower combo and the interiorly located guest bedroom has a bathroom with a shower only. Both bedrooms have king size beds. Unit sleeps 4 and does not have a sofa sleeper.

Surf Side Shores I and II are 9-story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Surf Side Shores has two beachside pools, one of which is a heated/extended season pool, and a small kiddie pool. The property also has a grilling area that services buildings I and II. 2 car limit. Stays longer than 30 days must purchase parking pass(s) for every month.

STAY AND PLAY
This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package', which includes complimentary tickets to the best area activities including golfing, deep sea fishing, dolphin/nature cruise, amusement park, zoo, and movie rentals. Each rental comes with our "Stay and Play package." Some restrictions apply.

*The 'Stay and Play Package' begins on the scheduled date of arrival and is not available on day of departure. Services are non-cumulative and non-transferable. All services are subject to change, subject to availability, and weather permissible. The 'Stay and Play Package' does not apply to monthly rentals.

Related to the condo itself, we could not figure out how to turn on the light above the dining table and found it hard to close the curtains in the primary bedroom and living room. Also, it would be nice if all the lightbulbs above the bathroom sink matched and worked. The beds were very comfortable and the place was tastefully decorated.

Lovely relaxing stay. Please extend our thanks to the owners. Couple of suggestions: Dressers or larger clothes storage in bedrooms. The building sprayed for bugs the day before we departed. Up until that point we didn’t see any bugs. After they sprayed we did you might want to spray when the condo is empty for a few days if possible. All questions were answered by the excellent staff at Gulf shores Rental. Thank you Meg Beckman

Great except for initial access to property

My family and I had to take a couple planes to get to Pensacola and then drive an hour from the airport. We were scheduled to arrive at the property around midnight. Knowing this I had called earlier in the week to verify after hour arrival and they told us that we were in luck that our property had a keypad and on the day of check-in they will text us the code. They did. Except when we arrived the code wasn't working. In fact the entire mechanism didn't work as it was out of batteries it seemed as the numbers were not lighting up as they were entered. We called the after hours number and the soonest someone could let us in was another hour. Not wanting to drag all of our luggage back to the car and not wanting to somehow miss the person coming to let us in, we waited outside the door in the cold. Eventually they came to let us in and someone came to replace the battery the next morning. The property and location was great - clean and comfortable. I suppose not much could be done with a dead battery, but maybe someone could have verified access earlier in the day?

Needs work

We’ve been to gulf shores/orange beach the past 8 summers. This has to be the worst condo we’ve stayed in. The location and pool was decent though. Their were holes in the wall by the living room doors and drywall was literally dropping on the floor while we were sitting on the couch on a raining day. Sheets were dirty and had patches of blood in the master. Ice maker didn’t work. No pantry or any type of shelving so NO room to put food except crowd it on the kitchen counter. No WiFi password so everyone else was using it and never got a connection. Overall I wouldn’t stay in the unit till there was some major TLC done to the condo.

Needs structural repair and a deep cleaning

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The layout and furnishings in the condo were as described and seen on the website. The location of the building was great. What is not acknowledged in any way on the website are the rotting molding, buildup of dust and dirt everywhere, extensive ceiling and wall patches, and the list goes on. Management should consider taking this unit off the website until they deal with maintenance issues. If we’d have known the condition, we would have stayed elsewhere, but there was no way for us to know. We were very disappointed in the lack of care shown here. I don’t know if their other units are maintained (or not?) like this one, but I can’t recommend a vacation here. I hope they will have a talk with the cleaning crew. I have pictures of some of the issues, but cannot post them here.

I really hesitated to do this review, as I don't like being negative. But, my hope is the owners will use it as a gentle reminder.The decor was cute and attractive, but it needs to be deep cleaned. Our socks/feet would be literally black from the floors. And, the mattress was very bad. Both my husband and I had sore backs each morning.This place has huge potential, and as I said it is located in such a great area.Overall, we had a good vacation, as the weather was spectacular and we were at the beach or pool most of the time.I can't, honestly, recommend this condo in its current condition.I had seen some reviews stating the same issues, so I mentioned this to the rental agency prior to renting. I was assured that it is professionally cleaned and should not be a problem. So I went ahead with the rental. I am going to pay more attention to the reviews in the future.I sure hope the owners hear this, and have the condo really cleaned. Then it would be a fantastic place to visit!!
