The Space:

Experience a carefree vacation at Pop Pop’s Place on Edisto Beach! This classic rental home was renovated in the winter of 2021 and is now more comfortable and appealing than ever. Vaulted ceilings give the property an open and spacious feel that's perfect for a large group or a small family gathering. Two enclosed, hot-and-cold showers and TVs in every room will keep everyone entertained and relaxed. Spread out and enjoy the sweet southern breeze on various decks and a screened porch. Views of the ocean are stunning from any vantage point.



The beach access is a minimal walk from your doorstep. Depending on the season you visit, you may even have the opportunity to see loggerhead turtles nesting or hatching. Memories are always made on Edisto Beach, and Pop Pop’s Place is a relaxing home base at a comfortable price.

Great experience!

Our family had a great vacation week in Pop Pop's Place. The home is clean and comfortable and perfect for our family. We have stayed at Pop Pop's Place two years in a row, but were sad to learn that the home will not be available to rent for next summer.

Family Vacation for 12

House was good and plenty of room. Location was great near beach access. Kitchen was well stocked. Could use more attention on thoroughly cleaning inside and tidying up outside areas. We would stay again.

Comfortable Stay

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Pop Pop’s Place. The proximity to both the beach and Whaley’s was super convenient. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and clean. We enjoyed the shared beach toys and were grateful to be able to use those. We would love to stay again someday. Thanks!

Beautiful House. Great location/distance from Beach Access 25. Advertised as having ocean-view...um, even from 3rd floor balcony MINIMAL-AT BEST to NO OCEAN VIEW, but you can HEAR the ocean. The kitchen trash can placement was a little awkward for us when someone else using counter appliances. 👍👍🏖

Great Edisto property

Short walk to the beach. Spacious home, lots of beds, towels, games. New appliances. Dozens of deer feed at dusk, almost every night.

Family time

Enjoyed a week with family and friends with plenty of room to gather or have space. Great location with a short walk to the beach. Kitchen was well stocked to cook and grill. We enjoyed all of the bike trails around the island. Overall the house was surface clean, but could use a good deep cleaning especially the bathrooms. There was sand in the bathrooms when we got there and there was mold in the showers.

Beach Relaxation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed staying at Pop’s Place. The accommodations were very nice. It is only three houses away from the beach. The only small things I would mention is the electric starter on the gas grill did not work and the hot water. I called Atwood about the lack of hot water but it never got better. It would only last for a minute or so then cold. There were only two of us at the house so we made do. We never got hot water in the kitchen sink. It was a wonderful home and we enjoyed staying there. We would stay there again.

Great space, no parking!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is perfect for a large family like ours. We are a family of five and our kids each had friends over various times of the week and my parents and there was ample sleeping room. The parking and underneath area was our main issue. Very narrow parking space with the palm trees lining the drive and no grass parking except all the way out at the road. We took our boat and jetski so if we wanted to take those to the water we had to play musical cars. Also, the underneath area was spacious but impossible to enjoy at night to play games with the family - SO HOT! The lattice around the house allows zero airflow.

Could be 5 stars but. . . .

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home could be 5 stars easily if the furniture was upgraded and one more bathroom added. The beds were substandard to say the least. The couches are worn out and torn. The house is set up for a lot of people - we had planned on 10 but only had 8 and I'm glad because of only two bathrooms, one accessible only through the master bedroom. Again, that is unacceptable for most folks. If this were my cabin I'd spend some money and make it the 5 star it has the potential to be. It's a great location, plenty of room, outside sitting on the porch, showers for the beach, etc. but just falls way short of what it could be.

Perfect Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Pop Pop's Place. Check in was quick and easy. The house is a short 2 minute walk to the beach and was much larger than I expected. This house was fully stocked with everything you would possibly need for the kitchen, bathrooms, bedding, etc. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. The wrap around porch was really nice and we enjoyed the screened porch as well. You can hear the waves crashing from the porch but there wasn't much of an ocean view except from the top deck and the master bedroom. All of the bedrooms were a nice size. The kitchen has an osmosis system so you don't have to use the tap water (which is safe but pretty gross). The washer and dryer were a nice bonus as were the 2 outside showers under the house. My only complaint would have to be that the yard could be better maintained. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone. Thank you for making our vacation in Edisto one to remember for years to come. We cant wait to come back. P.S. we saw a lot of dolphins at the beach which really excited the kids. Be sure to bring your cameras.

Bright and Spacious

Pop Pop's Place is a bright, spacious beach house that easily accommodated our group of six. We had stayed here before, several years ago, and since then it has been totally renovated. The kitchen has all new appliances and bathrooms are beautifully updated. We also like that Pop Pop's allows us to bring our dog! Our only complaint is that the screened porch is quite small, and since we had several downpours during our stay, it got wet enough to deter much porch-sitting. If a porch is one of your priorities, this would not be the house for you.
