A spectacular place to stay with a group!
A Maple house on Garden Island was absolutely amazing. This was our second time staying and it definitely lived up to my memories. We stayed there for a family reunion and other members of our extended family rented the other cabins on the island. What a magical trip! Garden Island is one of my favorite places to stay in the summer and one of the best kept secrets in Vermont.
Maple has two bunkbed rooms for the kids, even though you only see one room in the pictures. It was perfect for our gaggle of kids. All of the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. They have lots of fans help tremendously to cool things down at night. We were very comfortable sleeping there. The kitchen, and communal areas are perfect for hosting a big group gathering. The only thing that might bother some people is that there are only two bathrooms - one with a shower (downstairs) and one with a bathtub (upstairs). We spent so much time outside at the beach or playing on the expensive lawn that only having two bathrooms didn’t bother us in the slightest. The one in front of me is a great place for the kids to run around and play and they have various swings and structures in place for the kids to plan on. The beach is the highlight of Garden Island though - soft sand, a floating matt, and plenty of kayaks and paddle boards to use. We love paddling around the island and exploring the walking trail that loops the perimeter.
The owners and the summer crew that work there are all very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating.
This was our sixth year, staying at one of the cabins on Garden Island and we will keep coming back as often as possible. It is a beautiful and relaxing place to spend a few days or a week!
