The Maisonette apartment is located in the holiday home Oberstaader1 and lies on the edge of the Bodensee shoreline nature reserve, which is an 8-minute walk away. The impressive, 500-year-old listed half-timbered house has been luxuriously renovated. On the outside, it has retained its unique character. Inside the old walls, new, comfortable rooms have been created that invite you to relax and linger.
The Maisonette apartment is one of three beautiful apartments in the building 'Oberstaader 1'.

The apartment has an idyllic garden, partly planted with culinary herbs, and features a large terrace plus a sunbathing lawn. The outdoor shower (hot + cold) is wonderfully refreshing after a long bike ride or a strenuous hike.
The electric grill invites you to a cozy get-together with family or friends. Steaks, burgers, or vegetable skewers are sure to turn out great.
The entire garden of the Oberstaader1 house, where the holiday apartment is located, is fenced with privacy screens. Of course, the maisonette apartment has its own terrace and garden area.
The house is two kilometers from the Swiss border (Stein am Rhein) and has three apartments that can be connected, offering the option to rent the entire house if needed (up to 12 people).

The part of the house, namely the holiday apartment "Maisonette," is designed with high quality, with a particular focus on comfort and standards. This is evident in the two bedrooms with relaxing box-spring beds, the large walk-in shower with overhead shower in the bathroom, and the kitchen area equipped with professional kitchen appliances (filter coffee machine, Nespresso machine, Gaggenau, Miele).

Two French doors connect the living/dining area directly with the terrace/garden area, expanding the space during the warmer months. There you will find high-quality garden furniture with sun protection, nestled in an idyllic garden oasis.

There is a free parking space and reliable Wi-Fi available.

Each of the three apartments in the Oberstaader1 house is a completely self-contained holiday apartment and is therefore usually booked individually. The option to open the connections between the apartments can only be guaranteed if the whole house is rented.

Where is the maisonette, what does Öhningen on the Höri offer?

This holiday apartment is located in Öhningen, right on Lake Constance. Öhningen is the town that lies directly on the Swiss border. Stein am Rhein is on the other side of the border and is an absolute medieval gem that you definitely should visit.
Of course, you’re also well taken care of in Öhningen and its three districts, just like everywhere on the Höri with all its insider tips.

In Öhningen, the widely visible and impressive monastery complex, the former Augustinian Canons' Monastery, invites visitors to explore. The founding of the monastery is dated to 965. The convent, bailiwick, church, and chapel are impressive.

Öhningen's restaurants and cafés offer the chance to indulge in culinary delights without having to cook.

By the way, Öhningen's beach also has dining options and, of course, a beautiful sunbathing lawn plus a sandy beach. This really sets Öhningen apart from all the other nice beach resorts on the Höri.

Öhningen also has a harbor, which invites you on daily trips with the regularly scheduled passenger ships. Various themed tours are also on offer.

In the Wangen district, the MuseumsFischerhaus awaits with impressive finds to bring history closer to you. There is also a stilt house to admire.

An absolute highlight is the Werd Monastery Island, which is reachable for any experienced walker. You can actually take a small pilgrimage hike directly from Öhningen to the little island Werd in the middle of the lake, where Franciscan monks still live. If they have the time, they will also tell you a little about their lives, and of course, you are warmly invited to the devotions held three times a day, if interested.

Schaffhausen in Switzerland, especially famous for its roaring waterfall, should definitely be on your list of excursions.

For hikers and cyclists, the entire Höri region is also a paradise. It has extensive forest areas and designated hiking and cycling paths.
E-bikers can rent an e-bike right in Öhningen for a fun little tour.

If you feel like checking out the classic highlights like Mainau Island, Konstanz (maybe even SeaLife), Meersburg, and so on, you can get there in just a few minutes by car.
