This Kai Lani condo in Koā€™Olina is exactly as advertised. It was very clean and check-in with the owner was very easy. We would definitely recommend this condo and hope to stay here again when we return to Oahu.

Lovely complex in a great resort

Kai Lani is beautifully landscaped and kept in excellent condition. It is quiet, nicely run, and very convenient for getting onto the highway or to the Ko Olina resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have booked again for next year, but the unit is already booked.

Perfect location. Ocean view from lanai, next to multiple beaches, golf course, restaurants, gift shops, etc. Beautiful manicured neighborhood with walking/biking paths. City of Kopolei 3 miles away with everything you could need. Condo spacious and fully stocked with supplies and beach equipment. Beds comfortable and laundry top notch. Landlord a great guy.

Itā€™s always Location, Location, Location! Kai Lani is literally a stoneā€™s throw from the freeway entrance, making travel to anywhere on the island easy. Itā€™s a very quiet condo complex with flowering plants and greenery as well as an ocean view. Itā€™s a short walking distance to a shopping area, restaurants, shops, 4 lagoons, and Paradise Cove for snorkeling with tropical fish and sea turtles. Costco and a major shopping center are only 3.5 miles away in Kapolei. You will even find a movie theater there. The ownerā€™s condo is well appointed! The kitchen is stocked like a gourmet kitchen: large refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, stove, microwave, blender, slow cooker, rice steamer and ample cookware, dishes and utensils. The dining room seats 6 comfortably and the lanai seats 4. There are 3 tvs, ceiling fans in every room plus AC. The main tv has Roku. Each bathroom has a full tub and shower. There are ample bath towels and beach towels. The main bedroom is a king and the secondary bedroom has a queen bed with ample linens for each. There is a large capacity washer/dryer ! The condo is so inviting and full of amenities that your vacation literally starts as you open the door. You will be thankful for making this condo your vacation choice!

Condo in Paradise

The 3rd time at this property was a charm. Herb is a very gracious host and he keeps this rental condo in tip top shape. If you want a clean and friendly environment to just relax and enjoy the Hawaiian Sun or a place to go for fun and excitement then this is the place for you. The location is one of Oahu's best for peace and quiet. It is also close enough to Honolulu for you to enjoy big city fun and excitement . Our son and his wife live in Honolulu and visited us on the weekends in order to get away from the big city. Our daughter, her husband and their two children stayed with us for a week and they enjoyed the sun and sand at the lagoons at Ko'Olina as well as snorkeling and hiking all over Oahu. My sister visited from Colorado and found the condo magical and a great escape for all children of all ages. The place has recently been given a facelift with fresh paint and it was sparkling clean when we arrived. After checking the pantry we crossed many items off our shopping list it was so well supplied. All appliance were in working order and the only problem we encountered was the dishwasher. In the middle of our visit the roller for the top tray broke and Herb had it fixed immediately. It took three days to finish the repair only because a part had to be shipped in. There were no other problems. I highly recommend this place and will return as soon as possible. Bob M.

Our experience

I wouldnā€™t have chosen this place if someone else had the experience I did. (1) found bed bug on pillow on bed 1.5 hours after checking in, (2) caught bed bug in ziplock for proof, (3) no items or people went on bed except for my 3 showered young children wrapped in towels from the condo (4) we left quickly and searched for hotel (5) owner next morning asked us to continue our stay and see if we find any more bugs. We said no way (6) husband met owner at property with live bed bug and searched beds for more bugs (did not find any but did not search carpets, couches, etc) (7) owner said heā€™d give us a full refund and we booked another property for the month (8) one week later owner changed his mind because he now thinks we brought the bed bug into the condo and he tells VRBO we were using property to eat and store food (this was incorrect because we didnā€™t have access. Hundreds of dollars of unused groceries were left with ownerā€™s knowledge because we had nowhere to put them) (9) ten days after I found the bug, owner had an exterminator in to check property. Exterminator said no bed bug evidence found, owner gives us a 40% refund and invites us to finish our stay. We declined since we already settled into another home for our month long stay and we still didnā€™t feel comfortable staying here (10) upset because our 1.5 hours in this home was full of stress to start our family vacation and we lost money but thankful 1.5 months after finding bed bug, we havenā€™t seen another!

More than unpleasant of a stayā€¦. DIRTY. DINGY. MUSTY.

Photos lack details of key rooms because they are unsatisfactory. The unit was unkept. Bathrooms were dirty. Showers were full of mildew, mold & hair. Plumbing did not drain properly in showers. Kitchen was dirty & greasy. Furnishings were dingy, stained & dusty. Carpets were heavily stained throughout the unit with multiple area rugs covering stained carpets. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. An extra sheet set was satin Playboy themed. After our first unpleasant night I called VRBO, it was never stated I was past the 12 hour period to file a complaint. It was suggested to dispute the charges w my credit card co & to resolve issues w host on my own. The owner was uncooperative & unpleasant. He demanded to inspect unit. Day 5 a cleaning service came. They stated cleaning cannot start until plumbing issue was resolved & they would not be able to clean unit to satisfactory results considering the condition. We made the decision to vacate the rental after not being able to resolve issues. The host refused to issue a refund for the nights unused like VRBO had asked him to do & we lost the 30 day rental amount we had paid. We found a new spotless rental in the same complex with a local property management service for a comparable rate. It would be helpful to provide photos however, I can't. I relied heavily on reviews when booking this rental. The reviews with complaints are more accurate than the positive reviews. If you have issues w checking in call VRBO in 12 hrs.

This is our third day at this facility. It is always clean and well furnished.There is always an ample supply of necessities - like toilet paper, paper towels,soap for the washing machine and dishwasher, and even coffee and creamer! There is even cable TV andAll the appliances worked great including the AC! Plus, itā€™s just a 10 minute walk to the Ko Olina beaches!

Oceanfront living at it's best!

My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property and cannot wait to visit again soon; - this West Shore gem is not to be missed! When I saw the ocean-front view in-person, I knew the condo would be the perfect place for me to work remotely and for my "older" parents to ease out of pandemic isolation. Check in was quick and easy. Herbert welcomed me into the space with a quick tour and invitation to leverage the well stocked fridge and pantry, and to use the beach gear in the garage. The beach chairs provided really come in handy for nightly sunset viewing. Oh and did I mention the pool? Evenings in the perfectly heated pool are a great way to wind down. The condo is extremely spacious with a wonderful lanai (equip with plugs for working outside) and a desk area in one of the two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, walk-in closet, and full bath with tub and shower (the photos do not do the room justice). The second bedroom is offset and has two doors for additional privacy. The washer/dryer and amply stocked household amenities come in handy when you spend long days at the beach or drip shave ice on your clothes. I can't say enough good things about this property... We will be back!

This was our 8th year staying in Kai Lani and our 4th time in this unit. Great location. Great landlord. Lots to do in the immediate area and around Oahu. It keeps us coming back every winter.

Sunsets!

Close to the ocean, coves and lagoons - all walkable. The apartment is well equipped and pretty large. Herb is very responsive. Donā€™t miss the amazing sunsets at the small beach closest to the property.

Nice view from unit, once you climb the 18 stairs up to the condo. which is not on the description on VRBO site. therefore not a good place for the elderly with medical issues. ( hip or knee problems ) There is no smoking anywhere on the premises. including outside . Which to me is ridiculous if you enjoy a cigar after a meal. Also not in the VRBO site. On a more positive note the condo is in a great location . easy to get to , close to beach areas and resorts. Very close to the pool which is very nice, well kept and clean. Grilling is done in the pool area only ,but close enough to the unit, to return with a hot meal. Very well stocked with cleaning aids, Plenty of room to move around.

We love this place so much, so we decided to spent our holiday in a condo again. We new what to expect and it was exactly the same excellent as during our first visit. The apartment is big, comfortable, equipped with everything which is needed for a long stay (we have been there for 3 months). We enjoyed every morning our coffee on the balcony with the view to to the ocean. And we enjoyed the sunsets on the little almost private beach 2 min of walk from the apt. And swimming in the lagoons located in walking distance. Everything was just perfect. We strongly recommend Herbert's apartment for holiday!!! Herbert, thank you for all your tips and support. We are already considering to coming back to your place even for longer (and lets hope it will work!) Couple from Switzerland

Everything perfect. West Side Paradise

The condo itself is roomy and spacious, and has a nice view of the ocean. The lagoons are a very short drive, or a longer walk if you like walking. They fill up quickly, and cars line up to get in, but the line can move quickly. The bar-b-q area, along with the pool and hot tub, are well-maintained and relaxing. Enjoyed our stay here! Loved my stay while on Oahu!!

I need to start off by saying thank you to Herbert for responding so quickly to my email request. I live on the Big Island and often have to go to Oahu for my work. I needed to get out of my hotel as it was very noisy in downtown Honolulu. It was such a relief when I arrived at the condo. It was immaculate and had everything I needed. It was a very short walk to the pool. I was so comfortable and able to spread out in the second bedroom with the desk and it was perfect for working. The lanai has a beautiful ocean view and I often took walks down to "secret beach" which is so beautiful and the lagoons as well. While I took daily walks I was able to meet other property owners and they were very friendly and helpful with information in KoOlina. There are places to eat within walking distance and it was nice that the ABC store was as well. It has been the nicest place that I have stayed on Oahu. I am looking forward to going back.

My wife and 2 kids (2&4) stayed at this 2bdr condo and it was amazing. The view, set-up, location, neighbors, pool was perfect. We will stay at this location every time we come back home to Oahu. Herbert was great upon arrival and his condo is kept up and well stocked. We never had to call for any assistance. This is a MUST BOOK!

Lovely property

This is our sixth winter staying at this development and our second time in Herbert's unit. Wonderful location. Terrific landlord. So much to do and see on Oahu. You can't beat this place for a better get away.

Wonderful Condo, Fabulous Swimming Lagoons, Terrific Location

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. Furnishings are lovely and comfortable, condo is fully stocked in kitchens and baths and is very clean. Owner/manager is on site and is very responsive and helpful. It is a short walk to the ABC store where you can find almost anything you need and several places to eat or a short drive to Costco and other stores and restaurants. Breakfast at the Kapolei golf course is great. I walked down to the beach lagoons every morning. The local seniors were at lagoon 4 almost every day playing their ukeleles. We also drove down to the lagoons where there are 5 or 6 different public access parking areas. This made it easy to take chairs and snacks to the beach so we could swim and then sit under a shade tree and stay for awhile. We were at the condo pool almost every afternoon. It is clean, a good temperature and is not heavily used at all. I will definitely be coming back again. This is the perfect Hawaii spot with a lovely condo, wonderful swimming lagoons, great pool, beautiful ocean views and sunsets, morning lattes at the Marriott and evening happy hour at the Four Seasons. Life is Good Here.
