Artist's Beach Getaway

Located on a sandy Calle, this artistic beach house has spacious decks and gardens and easy access to the beach. In addition to the two upstairs bedrooms, there is a small detached cottage with a twin futon couch/bed. Charcoal grill. The owners request guests that will quietly enjoy the property rather than have celebrations or parties. NOTE: There is an apartment on the property that is a long term rental, it has a separate entrance and the tenant does not use any part of the yard or the main house. Dogs Allowed. Renters bringing pets: Additional pet fee for each pet: $25/night capping out at $150 per week for longer stays, $50 extra cleaning fee. Bed configuration: 1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Twin in House, 1 Twin in Garden cottage.

Love the large kitchen and the table is great for sharing meals and playing games. Kitchen nicely stocked, but could use more wine glasses. Yard is very secure for dogs. Bocce ball court is a fun addition. A few of the windows wouldn't open.

The Essential 2 Jose Patio Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I'll start by saying that this was a troubled stay. On our second day, electricians were in and out of the house all day; they were good lads, but it was intrusive and the power was out for a time. That work knocked out the hot tub and the tv's streaming services. Later in the week, we had more workers (hot tub maintenence + hot tub repairman). In all honesty, it was a bummer at not having those amenities, and having frequent disruptions. The saving grace was Fritz, who himself came and fixed the tv. But we love the property, and would welcome a discounted night if we return again.

The only issue when we arrived was that the hot tub was not working, but we called the number in the book and they got it up and running the next day.

Had a great time. Highly recommend. Great kitchen and appliances for cooking.

Would prefer the pot belly stove clean and heard mixed reviews on the hot tub so did not use it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 2nd time at this house and we just love it. Only negative the need for a plumber in the house for several hours due to a clogged sink that was obviously a problem when we first arrived the day before and apparently an issue in the past as well. But aside from that this is a lovely, art-filled house with a baby grand piano and only a few steps from the beach. Will be back again.

Artsy warm home

This family home is filled with the owner's art and quirky deco. We had fun exploring the house and enjoyed the location - quick walk to the beach and a short bike ride to town. (One thing that would have made it even better: screens on the windows so that we could enjoy the fresh ocean breeze sans mosquitoes).

Stinson beach is about 4 minutes down a path and its spectacular for sunsets. The house is unique and the windows and patios give a great view of the mountain, where by the way, you can hike. All amenities were as promised.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The main front door to the house wouldn't stay closed, so if you didn't lock it, it would blow open. The beds were extremely soft - too soft for us...we kept rolling into each other. The bedroom with the king bed didn't have window coverings on all the windows, so getting dressed and undressed was a bit more exposure than we were comfortable with. We also had a MAJOR house fly problem! At one point, I'd say we had at least 100 flys in the house. Seating 4 of us in the sitting area wasn't all that comfortable - could use some upholstered chairs there.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location in relation to the beach was excellent, a 2 minute walk and you are there. The hot tub was also nice but has no view which would have been nice. Because there are no screens on any of the windows and you need to keep them open because the house gets stuffy, mosquitos get in. We were literally covered in bites after a week at this house. Also, the matress in the master bedroom was pretty worn out and uncomfortable, so much so that we ended up on the couch several nights. Aside from the sleeping situation, the house was ok. Everything was well stocked and provisioned. This house is a decent value but could be improved with new matress in master and mosquito nets on beds or window screens.

Beautiful property with artsy beach charm

I stayed here with my family for a couple days as we were visiting friends in Stinson and this place was wonderful. Just a couple houses back from the beach, this spacious place captured the feel of Stinson and its surrounds. The home was well equipped and homey, and as an artist myself, it had charm, character and personality. The grounds were perfect too for the kids and you could hear the waves and smell the sea breeze in the sunny evenings with views of Mt Tam on one side. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an alternative space, in keeping with Stinson's unique personality, and artsy beach life. We loved it! Thank you!
