Picturesque Rockport Queen Anne Cottage

Great location in beautiful Rockport. The house is a ten minute walk into town - Bearskin Neck shopping, art galleries, restaurants and the Shalin Liu Performance Center. Also a short drive to some of the Cape Ann's best beaches.


***PLEASE NOTE the stairs are original and a bit steeper then average. The house is not suitable for small children or people who have knee challenges.

This family home was built in 1876 and is lovingly maintained. The family is related to Richard Tarr one of the first settlers in Rockport. Quaint, charming, sunny and cozy. There are special touches like the hand painted murals from the 1940's that make the house uniquely inviting. There is a lovely garden and patio for outdoor dining.

This house has three bedrooms- the spacious master with one queen, a second small bedroom with two twins and a tiny bedroom on the ground floor with a single. The driveway serves two cars with additional street parking available.

Rockport MA at its best

The house is in a fascinating street, within a ten minute walk of the town centre. It has a friendly atmosphere created by the family which has owned it for several generations. We were delighted to stay there.

Unique antique home

Staying in this home added to our understanding of the regionā€™s history, as it has been in the ownerā€™s family since it was built nearly 150 years ago! The house is filled with many historical and personal touches. Itā€™s slightly quirky, so it may not be for everyone, though it is just as described in the ownerā€™s write-up. Location is excellent. We enjoyed our visit.

Comfortable, relaxing, and historic.

My husband and I stayed here and we were very comfortable. Rockport is such a cozy New England town. I would definitely stay here again. Karen was so easy to work with and very kind. The stairs are doable, which I was somewhat concerned with but there wasnā€™t anything to worry about.

Wonderful stay at this house with my family, including 15-month old. Back yard was lovely and private. Great location and house was fun with antique intricacies. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely House Full of History

My mom, my aunt, and I so enjoyed staying at this lovely historic home in Rockport! We visited Boston and Salem, but Rockport is a great destination all on its own, with cute shops and delicious restaurants. This home situated in a quaint seaside village is welcoming and comfortable after a long day of exploring and shopping!

This is one of the most charming and historic houses I've ever stayed in. We loved being surrounded by the art, books and historic mementos of this Rockport family that has lived here for generations. In the dining room, there is a mural that depicts the sea and the lighthouse where their great-grandfather was once keeper of the light. Upstairs, the bathroom and one bedroom are decorated by mermaids and fairies, certain to delight children. The stairs are narrow and steep, however, and must be negotiated with caution. Despite its age, the house has central air conditioning, which was wonderful. There is an adorable garden off the dining room, and a table, four chairs and an umbrella, where you can have meals or sip drinks. The house is an easy walk from the center of town, on a quiet, shady street. The owner and property manager were lovely, and very helpful and accommodating when we had an unexpected emergency. We spent two very happy weeks there and hope we'll be able to return again.

Cozy Cottage

We spent the week in this beautiful cozy cottage in Rockport Massachusetts. Couldnā€™t of been a better place to be while we visited the area. We were able to Uber into Salem into Boston it was an all-around great experience. Would highly recommend this cozy cottage to anyone.

A lovely cottage in walking distance to small beaches and amazing galleries. Historic local family has owned this cottage and the love and care is felt in every room. We cooked all our meals, the kitchen has all you need. Vintage dishes, art and furniture makes it feel like you walked back in time. Hung out on the patio sipping coffee and admiring the garden.

Wonderful cottage in great location. We enjoyed seeing the historical references around the house, including the original cost of building the house. Walk to town was very easy. Loved the murals. House is extremely clean.

Perfect autumn cottage

My family and I spent a week in this perfect home. I absolutely fell in love from the minute I walked in. The house is clean and very well kept , everything was provided for us. It made crisp fall days absolutely beautiful.

Charming, superb location, a great retreat

This is a wonderful property full of sun light, gentle breezes, and charm. Located only minutes from downtown Rockport, the house is central to many activities and fun adventures. Lovely house and excellent location

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely historical house. Everything was clean, the rooms were comfortable and sunny, and there was plenty of space for our group. As other reviews mention, the kitchen is small, but we prepared many meals in there, and it is well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. The stairs are indeed steep, but the 5 year old and 75 year old in our group managed just fine! We loved being able to walk to downtown Rockport, to some of the small beaches, and to the park and playground. We'd definitely stay here again!

Exceptional Stay

We had a fantastic time at this property. The house was cute, historic, and filled with personal history. It was short walk to downtown Rockport, the piers, and Bearskin Neck. In addition, the property manager Rachael was amazing and super nice. We had a problem with the TV, and she came over during a middle of storm to help us fix it! We had a perfect stay at this house, and we would most definitely stay here again.

Rockport Respite

Four adults were comfortable and enjoyed this unique property. Cute house, just a few minutesā€™ walk to the harbor, shops, and restaurants of this charming seacoast village. We recommend seeing a show at Shalin Liu if you can; a highlight! Just walking around Rockport is fun. We forgot to order sunshine, but made the best of four rainy days. Recommended if you like old houses and family history.
