Nice Property

Nice property with great amenities. Great location. Fun to see the deer traipse through the property every night. You do need to bring toilet paper and paper towels! And, there are two coffee makers, a Keurig and drip. This is not mentioned on the listing and I was told there was only a drip. I would definitely stay again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Newmans Beachview was a great choice for our family Christmas vacation. Loved the openness of the living areas. The indoor heated pool was an added bonus as it gave the grandchildren (and adults) a place to swim if the ocean was too cold. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pans, pots and utensils. If someone wanted to watch tv they had choice of 4 (2 in bedrooms, 1 in living room and 1 in pool area).

Very clean, only downside was we could not enjoy the pool, the humidity in the pool area was unbareable and the Chlorine level was way too high, my daughter attempted to use the pool and it bleached her black swimsuit to purple. It advertised a salt water pool this is incorrect, the smell of a salt water pool does not set your sinuses on fire when standing in the room, ps keep the pool doors closed or the whole house will radiated the extreme brash smell of highly concentrated chlorine.

The indoor pool is great for rainy afternoons or days we've spent too much time in the sun. The Newman's have made some wonderful updates the last couple of years that include a nice walkway to the trash cans and around the back to the outdoor firepit/cornhole/swing area. It is by far our favorite place to stay and the best section of beach. Working with Jekyll Realty is always a great experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property took our breath away - the pictures don't do it justice. We usually do not spend much time at the home we rent other than to sleep and eat. At this property - we didn't want to leave! The pool of course was great but the patio - darts, cornhhole, adult and child swings, the firepit, tons of seating, a choice of charcoal or gas grill, outdoor seating under a roof. There is also seating in the pool area. Plenty of seating inside also for dining at a table or at the counter and comfy seating in the living room. The kitchen is extremely well stocked (altho only 1 nonstick skillet was in good shape) - you could use a different patterned dinnerware every meal. Tons of serving dishes. The house was very clean. Beach access was within walking distance. A call from the owners to check in on us and encourage us to fully use the property's amenities added to the specialness of this property. We have rented homes on JI for 23 years and Newman's Beachview is far and above any other home we have rented.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Newmans Beachview is the best vacation rental we have ever had as it is so well-done in every way. The home is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. There are lots of seating options both indoors and out. The location is great and a bike path is across the street. The pool area and backyard are perfect. The pool room was our hangout spot. The garage was great for storing our bikes and excess gear. The kitchen is well-stocked with lots of dishes, flatware, and etc. (although it could use a skillet update). There are K-cup and drip coffeemakers. The water line in the fridge was broken so the icemaker was not available during our stay but I'm sure that it would have been promptly repaired as Jekyll Realty is very responsive. If you have sensitive skin then you might get some reactions to the pool water but it's very clean and of a good size. We didn't use the propane fire pit or grill because of the requirement to have the tanks refilled. The Jekyll Realty app didn't work for us but it wasn't an issue. We didn't use the free beach gear credit so cannot opine on that offer. In summary, we loved this place and had a fantastic 3-generation holiday vacation in very comfortable living conditions!

Reviewer Comments: With the exception of the poor area, everything was amazing. 1st of all this is not a salt water pool. My daughter had an old black swimsuit that is now purple due to the Chlorine levels, if you mistaken leave a door open to the pool area the whole house will smell worse then the local YMCA. Even when you put the pool cover over the pool, the smell and humidity is extremely fierce. If it wasn't for the odor and humidity I would recommend this place to family and friends but the pool area took so much away from the experience I would say don't bother with this place. The pool area is what drew us to this property and we were unable to enjoy it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect for families with small kiddos. Loved everything about the house and all the extras especially the indoor pool. We loved the pool for our infant so we could enjoy the super hot afternoons inside without our baby getting overheated and sunburnt. The check in process was easy. Loved that this house had safety plugs for outlets and extra kid locks on doors to pool. We enjoyed tidelands center and the sea turtle center for our infant! Of couse our trip woulnd be complete without us going to st simons so we could eat at barbara jeans! We would love to rent this house again in the future and are recommending it to friends!

It was large enough to have plenty of space but you could also be close enough to spend time together. The indoor pool was an added plus on days that aren't exactly good beach days. The walk to the beach was short and an easy walk. We had nightly visits from the deer. The beach is large at low tide but not much room at high tide. It is also not crowded which was our favorite part. The waves weren't huge and powerful so our 2 year old grandson could run and play along with us in the ocean. Shops were close to the house so you could just ride a bike or walk if you would like to. Overall a great week for our family.

We've stayed in many great rentals over the years, but Newman's Beachview is our favorite. Our kids always leave the island saying it was thour best vacation ever and this year did not disappoint! The Newman's installed a new outdoor patio with swings and corn hole to make their already amazing house even more wonderful. It is really hard to leave such a beautiful island and we've already scheduled our stay for next summer. We love Jekyll Island, Jekyll Realty, and Newman's Beachview, and we can't wait to return!

October 2022 Stay

Pros: The house had plenty of room for our whole party and there were plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. The indoor pool was amazing and we really enjoyed being able to swim in October! Overall we liked the house and would stay again, but there are some cons. Con: At first glance it appeared clean when we arrived, but there was trash under two of the beds and gross stains on the mattresses. I'll definitely bring mattress covers for all the beds next time. There was dust/dirt on the bedframes and around the furniture and decor in each room. The pool bathroom rug looked like it had been used outside. The whole place could really use a thorough cleaning. I expected it to be cleaner considering the price we paid. I shouldn't have to vacuum and wash rugs when I arrive.

WONDERFUL SURPRISE!

The photos do not do this property justice! It has a lovely open floor plan with a large kitchen and spacious living and dining areas. The master suite has a large king sized bed and walk in closet, plus a luxury bath. It even has private doors to the huge 4 season room with a heated in-ground salt water pool (which we all thoroughly enjoyed). The additional bedrooms and closets are spacious, and there are two add'l full baths - one is located in the 4 season room. There is a patio with a bar, table, and grills for convenience. It is beautifully equipped. It is only a block to the ocean for beachside fun. Whenever we return to Jekyll, it will be our vacation getaway for sure.
