Casa Bella Compound is ideal for groups wanting serene privacy with easy access to both primary centers in the Taos area: The "Village of Taos, New Mexico is "8 miles south 12 minutes and the "Village of Taos Ski Valley" 8 miles north 15 minutes and is a most highly sought after location due to its being exactly half way between both primary centers. Skiers, hikers can head north and shoppers, sight seekers, adventure seekers and historians can head south.

The guest house (studio) ideal for the folks who desire separate space from the larger group, comes equipped with full kitchen facilities, laundry facilities, satellite flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, deck and hot tub, stream and garage, gas log cast iron fireplace, radiant floor heat and portable air conditioning.

Located in Los Altos, the only community of its kind in all of Taos County. 35 single family homes all with access to the Los Altos Club House, indoor pool and outdoor tennis court.

In the early beginning, the Compound was "home" to the architect (Sally) and her husband (Rick) the contractor / builder of the Los Altos community.

At that time, what is now the casita was a 300 square studio where Sally designed all of the Los Altos homes. In 1999 the new buyer added a double sink bathroom with tub shower combo, a foyer / laundry facility, walk in closet and exterior furnace room, increasing the size by 250 feet. The garage was "Rick's" builder supply room. His office was located where the now existing 4th bedroom and newly added bathroom are. This 2nd master bedroom faces south with direct access to the back yard deck, hot tub and stream. This bedroom is still called "Rick's" office by the owner, caretaker and maintenance people who still care for and maintain the property.

Great spot for being close to the mountain and Taos!

Overall, the location of this property cant be beat for people looking to explore the mountain and the town. Gary and Isabel were amazing throughout the trip. There were some unexpected issues with the house that popped up during our stay and they were prompt to get them resolved and were very communicative throughout the whole process. The house is advertised to sleep 14 but with 11 adults we were very tight. Would definitely recommend the house as long as you are okay with it being a little outdated. Outside of that, Premier Properties as a whole is a 10 out of 10 so if its not this house, I would highly recommend finding one that they manage.

Love Los Altos but not this home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed in Los Altos for 20 years. This year we wanted a home for 10 people. Casa Bella Compound is large but the furnishings, bedding and kitchen are outdated and well worn. The house is not an open concept conducive for engaging entertaining. The kitchen is closed off from the living area and is not equipped as a gourmet kitchen. Pots and pans are old. It is unfortunate that more consideration was not given to taking advantage of the beautiful mountain view instead there are limited windows and blocked views. The Master bedroom set up is very strange with 2 separate full bathrooms and a separate massage table room. Most rooms have old thick curtains that are drooping and nonfunctional with the cords attached. There is old worn and spotty carpet and area rugs throughout. The heating is wall units not the true radiant floor heating. The heater was nonfunctional in the large master bath but a space heater was provided. This is not a true 4 bedroom 4 bath main house. The casita which is attached to the garage, is more of a garage apartment as opposed to a cute free standing casita It is in the same condition as the main house with old and worn furnishing. The property manager/caretaker, Kristi, was very responsive and professional. The property was clean, but clean does not outweigh the outdated and aged appearance of the furnishing and fixtures and flooring. Another disappointment was the gas fireplace. We enjoy a true kiva when in Taos. The gas logs worked fine but do not have the ambiance we enjoy. Owners can do better to assure the status of Los Altos and should work and invest to keep Los Altos home rentals competitive with the new construction and updated rentals popping up in and around Taos.

Beautiful, comfortable, peaceful

A gorgeous property. The house is so unique, comfortable and beautiful, it is really a treat to stay there. We loved the views! The yard is so lovely and peaceful with the stream gurgling through the trees. The hot tub was delightful. The kitchen and dinning area were wonderful for meals. We had a wonderful time and would love to return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Casa Bella overall is a nice home in a beautiful area in Northern New Mexico. Our family overall had a great time visiting Taos Farmers Market, Taos Pueblo & Taos Ski Mountain. Casa Bella seems to be a little neglected in overall cleanliness & upkeep. Cleanliness issue noted upon arrival was the condition (not cleaned for our visit), accuracy (pool code) & out-of-date (Old pamphlets) "blue Book". That side table, the dining table & kitchen counters & dishes had food debris/dirt(?). Not enough silver wear. Dead and alive bugs were found in 2 of the carpeted bedrooms. Front door alignment, water leaking in bedroom might be cause. LR couches are old & stained. There were downed & partially downed trees in back yard area. The main house hot tub is older, no net to clean top debris. On the bright side, the air conditioner cools the house very well, the beds were clean comfortable & there were plenty of blankets, towels & pillows. High chair was a plus!! For 2-3 nights, it generally worked!

The second hot tub near the casita was unusable, the trees overgrown and cover was caked with dirt. The other hot tub was fantastic but a little low on water. The floorboards in both the main house and casita were quite dirty. The condition of the casita overall was very dirty, the mats didnā€™t even look like they had been washed. The couch had stains as well, and my guests complained of the bedding smelling of mildew.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed staying at Casa Bella. There were 9 of us and two were very young children. The youngest loved the babbling acacia that ran right beside the house and the big hammock that was hanging right outside the back door. We spent most of our time on the deck - cooking, eating, visiting, watching the 6 year old and the 4 year old dip their toes in the spring. We also enjoyed the swimming pool at Los Altos. Everything worked well except for the water pressure which was very low. The house was clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms. There was some confusion when we arrived. We had rented the house and the casita but were not able to gain entry to the casita until late in the afternoon (early evening) because the key was not left for us but Premiere worked to get that resolved. This is the third time that we have stayed at this property. We always use Premiere Properties when traveling to Taos!!

Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful vacation at Cassa Bella in the Taos area with lots to do, comfortabler accomodations, lots of space, inside and out andperfect weather. Some of the issues that we reported to the housekeeper were: hot tub at cassita did work, water in shower in master bath was not hot a couple of times and never got really hot, high chair discusting, baby crib unsafe and unusable! Throw away! Porta crib worked just fine. Dishwasher often left dishes dirty. Need more kitchen towles and wash cloths. Water issue on our lest day was settled to our satisfaction.Generally we had a wonderful time in a beautiful home. The problems listed can be easily solved with little effort and $, but you have to know about them to fix them!Loccation, colse to more than we could have done, was perfect. We will recommend this area and property and be back if and when we can!Thank you!

I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a large home with everything they could possibly need.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was perfect for 10 people. The house was beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped and fun for the cooks. The teenagers loved the privacy of the casita and their own hot tub. The deck, yard and creek were fabulous and the bbq good. Our dog especially loved walking in the creek and watching the prarie dogs. On the. Negative side a few light bulbs were out, one of the bedroom doors would not lock, one of the shower heads in the master did not function, the gas stove was not cleaned thoroughly and the jacuzzis were dirty. The highlight was the Millicent Rogers museum, the weaving store in arroyo seco and Bella's restaurant in Taos. In spite of the negatives I would recommend the home to a friend as the home was a major plus

Wonderful Spring Trip with Family and Friends!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Casa Bella Compound was the perfect place for all three of our family to have plenty of privacy and come together for our meals and fun memorable times. The convenience of getting the kids to ski school is at the top of our list. In less than 15 minutes we could be on the mountain. Arroyo Secco is a few minutes away and the kids enjoyed the ice cream shop. We will come back for sure!

The kitchen was equipped with any thing you could possibly need for daily cooking and entertaining. We entertained 23 people for Christmas Dinner without a problem. Would highly recommend this property - would like to rent it in summer! .
