Jamaica home

Very nice, safe, comfortable home. Had all the amenities. We walked to Doctor's Cave Beach two days, a bit hectic. The people were friendly, our driver Ossie was a Godsend.

Fantastic every time!

This was my second stay at Monique's beautiful cottage and it will not be my last. Monique and Michelle (on the ground check-in staff) are both lovely, kind, and gracious hosts who feel like I've known them forever. The location, the spacious home, the beautiful backyard garden, fast wifi, hot water, 3 cable tvs, washer/dryer and the beautiful sun room. Don't think twice...book it!

Location is everything

Very clean, perfect area to hit the mountains or beaches. The green room is the perfect gathering area at the end of the day to discuss our daily island adventures. The backyard gardens is it's own oasis and the evening music in the air is a warm wonderful touch from the neighboring resorts. We will stay again.

This cottage was the perfect place for a true Jamaican vacation!!

I highly recommend Monique’s cottage for your Jamaican get away. The cottage is in a perfect privately gated community. The landscaped yard is something else the hot water for showers was incredible. Monique provides all the detail items in her vacation home that make the stay enjoyable. Close to everything lots of nightlife and day beaches. We will be soon back!

Fun in the sun

Very convenient to the airport and hip strip which is great, not much activity or beaches for those looking for this. Although the doctors cave was within walking distance and that was a nice beach and the swimming was great. The cottage was clean and has a/c . Everything is there for cooking except a BBQ,

Always an incredible stay, never want to leave!

I have stayed at Monique's property MANY times and will continue to do so because it feels like a second home. The location of the cottage is perfect...on a private gated street, but close to the action of Hip Strip, and across the street from one of my favorite free beaches in Mo Bay. Walking distance from the famous Doctor's Cave Beach, and a scenic walk away from other free beaches Dead End & Harmony Beach Park. Monique is a perfect host, very kind & gracious & communicates quickly. Her property manager Michelle has become a friend of mine, very helpful, smart and nice!I would recommend this cottage to anyone, except for when I plan to book it ;) I will likely be back in a few months, it's become apart of my routine.Great hot water, great AC, washer/dryer, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a GLORIOUS sunroom.... a fish pond in the back, soursop, breadfruit, mango and pineapple trees in the back. It's heaven on earth!!!!

Nice home base in MoBay

We had a short stay and were off doing things much of the time. The home is as described, clean, spacious and very secure. The kitchen is modern and well appointed. The beds were super comfortable- we agreed it was our best sleep during two weeks in Jamaica :) . Enjoyed relaxing in the back yard in the evenings. Great location for walking to public beaches (or Doctor's Cave), restaurants and bars. There were just two of us but this would be a great option for a family as there is lots of space and different areas to hang out. Recommended.

Perfect jumping off spot to relax and explore.

We spent a week in this beautiful house and it is just as the pictures, descriptions, and reviews describe. A beautiful yard filled with flowering cacti and tropical plants, comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. Beaches, bars and restaurants just a short walk away. Monique, Lennox, and Khimanie were wonderful hosts intent on making sure we had everything we needed. We relied on them throughout our stay for transportation to local shops and restaurants, as well as taking advantage of a wonderful excursion into the mountains to visit the family pineapple farm. If you’re looking for a Jamaican experience that goes far beyond what you’ll get at a resort, this is the place for you.

My home away from home

When I say this property and it’s owner and support people are amazing I am not exaggerating… from the time Michele greeted me to Miss Alice coming to clean during my stay and everyone always responding to any communication… Monique is so sweet as well . I treat myself to a long trip after my busy tax season as an accountant and this is my second year in a row staying in this house … I’m all about the experience of living the life as if I lived in Jamaica because that’s my dream to have my own house some day and this cottage is my home away from home for now … you can’t go wrong staying there it’s been great to me my friends and my family… we are already deciding on our time to spend there in 2024… if you are looking for a great house look no further ❤️

It was perfect!

My husband and I enjoyed our week’s stay at the cottage. So glad it was available as we did a spur of the moment trip. It was perfect. Everything was 100% as quaint and comfortable as described. My favorite amenities were the tranquil backyard, the assortment of hot teas provided and most importantly to me anyplace we stay: the hot, hot, hot temperature of the shower. It’ll make or break my stay. For real. Thank you! The other big deal was being able to walk everywhere we desired to go: buying groceries for when we wanted to stay in and finding delicious meals and drinks when we wanted to venture out. We would definitely stay at Chatham Cottage again and will recommend it to our friends and family. Michelle, Judith and Monique were attentive and hospitable hosts/managers when needed. You truly have a gem of a property here!

Charming Cottage

This property was just as depicted. It was nice and roomy, and the backyard was idyllic. Monique was always quick to respond to questions and always helpful. The cottage was on a quiet street of 8 or 9 houses with tall fences and security gates barring entry for anyone not invited. Although my husband and I loved the cottage, we were not as captivated by Montego Bay. Every time we went out, we were besieged by people trying to sell us pot. There were only three beaches within walking distance. Two of them were very nice but small, so if you enjoy long walks on the beach, you may want to reconsider your destination. There were quite a few nice restaurants within walking distance, and there was live music every night just a block away.

Beautiful cottage, breathtaking backyard, on a quiet lane in the heart of the hip strip

I had the most incredible stay at Monique's cottage. I travel frequently to Mo Bay and am familiar with the Hip Strip where the cottage is situated... I would often walk by the gate to the cottage, which is next to the tennis courts...and wonder "what's back there?" Thanks to Monique I learned. A beautiful quiet, private & safe lane with a few other cottages and a super cool hi tech gate that keeps you secure. Monique's property is outstanding... a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, with a sunroom and a laundry room and the most incredible backyard. She's got wonderful trees mango, soursop, pineapple..you name it. Monique was incredibly courteous to me before and during my stay. Her on the ground hosts were the same, gave me great suggestions for a bakery and florist & just general advice, available whenever I needed. I can't say enough about the property... I will be booking at least twice more this year I think. I didn't want to leave at all! It instantly felt like my own home, comfortable beds, couches. Great AC, no issues with washer/dryer. Lovely housekeeper & gardener.... I have no complaints! Thank you Monique and your wonderful crew for making my trip so incredible

Spectacular find in Mobay!

Wonderful home in small gated community. Very spacious, with great kitchen (which we closed off while cooking to keep the heat contained) and "green room" looking out over a private backyard garden oasis. Pictures do not do this house justice! The air conditioners are very efficient and cool quickly-we enjoyed the Jamaican breeze and nightly music from one of local resorts while sitting in the green room-awesome! It's a short walk to beach just outside gate where you can catch the sunset. Doctor's Cave and Margaritaville/Hip Strip short walk just up the street. Doctor's Cave was a pleasant surprise-rent the goggles and snorkel if you don't have your own-the water is crystal clear with lots to see. Safe area-if you are approached and aren't interested in what folks are offering just smile and politely say "no thank you mon" :)We rented a car and explored the North Coast prior to landing in Monique's gem. What a wonderful end to our trip! The neighbors were delightful and Megamart was a very short drive for all our grocery needs/Blue Mountain Coffee, and you can also pick up a Black Forest cake made with local rum. It is also a short drive over to Negril or contact Monique to arrange a driver. Just around the corner on the way up to Doctor's Cave are a couple of grocery stores for quick items, as well as JR Chicken-yum! Judith got us checked in quickly and was very helpful with our questions. Monique was great at communicating with us prior to our arrival with ideas for local outings and she stayed in touch and available throughout our stay. She provided piece of mind to a couple of North Carolinians braving driving around Jamaica getting in touch with the locals. You will be glad you decided to stay at Monique's lovely home-we hope to go back soon!

Great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. Monique was very responsive to any messages sent. Walking distance to the beach. We had some issues with the hot water but assumed that was just the norm. Monique was great with suggestions and we highly recommend using Richard as your driver. If we come back to Jamaica we will definitely stay again!

Perfect Place to stay outside of a resort!

Had an amazing stay! The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming! Very accommodating and guided us! This was our first visit to Jamaica and without the help of Bob and Michelle, I don't know how we would have gotten along! Michelle took the time to make us feel very welcome, she taught us the ins and outs, and we appreciate her greatly! THANK YOU MICHELLE! Bob made his self available when needed and if he couldn't be there, he sent us someone trustworthy! We highly recommend these people and this home! Thank you for helping us have such a great vacation and thank you for sharing your home with us!

Perfect Home Away From Home!

Beautiful, well-maintained, comfortable and well-appointed cottage. Both the owner and property manager are very hospitable and responsive to any concerns or questions. Perfectly located near the beach and Hip Strip with easy access to the Montego Bay Airport. Completely safe in a wonderful, small gated community. Would stay here again....a real hidden gem! Be sure to ask the owner about the absolutely wonderful Pineapple Farm Tour available! Well worth it! Be sure to enjoy the cottage's absolutely gorgeous front and back gardens as well. You will enjoy your stay at Chatham Cottage #3!

Charm plus!!

We are so in love with this place! This charming cottage is so beautifully appointed and furnished! Every little detail is seen to. Plenty of supplies (towels, sheets, WiFi on site and boosted for the sunroom— even sunblock!!!) available for guest use. The garden in the back yard is jaw-dropping, and we spent a lot of time in the green room— so light and airy! The owners and family are extra friendly and helpful (we love Khimanie!!). If you get a chance, take the tour of the family pineapple farm!! And the place is so well situated. Close to the “hip strip” and some cool, local hotels. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Great home with ample space and walking distance to the Hip Strip

Did the last "family" vacation (kids recently graduated college) and wanted something different from the usual resort experience. This house had plenty of space to have quiet time or all sit together outside or in. The kitchen had all the appliances one might have at home (toaster oven, coffee maker, stove).The backyard was private and spacious with plenty of seating options (the pics don't really do it justice). Monique was quick to respond to my questions and Lennox was very helpful checking us in and offering some ideas for things to do. Monique was also able to secure us pick up and drop off from the airport which was one less thing to worry about! We were close enough to walk to the hip strip and found a small public beach right across the street for a quick dip when we had other plans. Doctors Cave was fun, the markets near the house had everything we needed and were very convenient. We ate out for most meals and have to say that Toby's Resort was not not only close but the food was great and the prices very reasonable. Our last night we booked at Margueirite's, they offer complimentary pick up and drop off which was nice so that the girls could be dressy and wear high heels! This was exactly what we were looking for... a peaceful and unscheduled vacation where we could rest or explore. Thank you for providing an oasis for us!
