Beachfront condo with amazing views! AC, WiFi, and daily maid service!

Luna Azul Condominium, Unit #5. This third level unit offers exceptional views of Half Moon Bay and the Caribbean beyond. The beachside terrace is a perfect place to watch the sea turtles feeding and playing in the bay, schools of tropical fish, osprey, pelicans and other marine wildlife. The breezes come off the bay and all is quiet and private.

The unit offers a fully equipped kitchen with a new cooktop/oven, coffee maker and all appliances that you may need to prepare your own meals or enjoy snacks and cold drinks on the beach. Off of the kitchen is the dining area with seating for six and a bar top for 4 more. From the living and dining areas you can enjoy the view of Half Moon Bay through a wall of windows and sliding doors leading to the beachside terrace. The terrace is furnished with a beautiful granite bar and chairs for you to enjoy dinner and drinks with the breezes and sounds of the surf.

To the rear of the unit are two bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious and private with large master bath and king bed. The guest bedroom is furnished with one double bed and one single bed and enjoys a private bath. AC in bedrooms and living area. Ocean views from all rooms in the condo, including the master bathroom.

Luna Azul is one of our favorite condominium properties. It has a great central location within walking distance to Akumal's Yal-Ku Lagoon, restaurants and other services. The management here is excellent and always takes great care of our guests.

We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. Great place for the family

We had a wonderful stay at Luna Azul and weā€™d definitely stay there again. Clean and comfortable condo with great access to immediate snorkeling on Half Moon Bay. We highly recommend this property. Great staff and amenities.

Great condo, great location

Great condo, great location in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Several restaurants within walking distance (Que Onda is some of the best Italian food we've had anywhere!). Half moon bay is very good for snorkeling, just bring your water shoes as it is rocky in spots.

Nice Beach Condo

The condo was great -- just as pictured. The staff was responsive and most helpful. The 20 minute walk into the central area was pleasant and enjoyable.

Great Getaway!

The appartment is perfect for a family with kids. Sometimes you might find so little ants in the kitchen, but no big deal. The beach is great, if the sea is calm you can spend the whole day snorkeling. If you are into snorkeling this is your place. We really had a great time there, you can drive into Akumal and find affordable restaurants, or get your self groceries to cook in the kitchen. THe bedding is great, the AC works, we are very happy to have taken the trip!

Very nice appt with great view

The appartment is spacious and very clean. The view is amazing. BUT it is a pretty windy bay and it has a lot of ā€œsargassā€ elk. We could not swim. It was bit disappointing for that. A nice restaurant on the beach, 5 min walking.

Lovely View

I think this was the most up to date condo in the Luna Azul building nice decor and updated bathrooms etc.. The view was nice 3rd floor so the palms were in view along with the water. Everything was in working order/ air conditioning, kitchen appliances etc.. Great management Adrian was a wonderful manager Akumal Sunshine. No ants or bugs in the unit. All guests were quite at the appropriate times. King bed was comfortable. We didnā€™t use the guest room. Good snorkeling in Half Moon Bay right off the shore. All in all very nice stay

But the best part was Scott Brown, who was absolutely wonderful as a property manager. We weren't too thrilled with the condo we originally booked, but Scott managed to find us other accommodations and let us transfer locations. He was always pleasant and eager to please. Akumal Direct is the best!

We loved every minute and felt it was rejuvenating and mind restoring. We hope Half Moon Bay stays this way.The only con and the reason for four stars and not five, is the king bed mattress needs to be replaced. One side is softer than the other and I found myself embedded in the morning. I exchanged sides with my husband and the other side is still too soft.Other than that this condo was perfect for us, the whole staff was lovely and helpful. Convenient location to everything. We would love to go back.

Lovely spot, lovely unit, lovely beach

It's accurate as described. Quaint, quiet town with good snorkeling and swimming at your feet and much to please you nearby. We snorkeled a few times and saw rays to the south of the bay, squid, anenome and urchins, plus all the gorgeous tropical fish you expect on Yucatan reefs. Coral to the north side of the bay was more extensive. Water was warm and clear. Some seaweed on the beach meant walks were best done at low tide. Great breezes kept things cool - we never needed the A/C in a hot March week. Nearby store and restaurants are easy to walk to. We used a car and drove to various vacation attractions with no problem. We also enjoyed eating in the west part of Akumal across the highway. There are gorgeous murals all over Akumal. The buildings and architecture are lovely, as is the vegetation. Yal Ku snorkeling was amazing. We wish we had time to do the turtle snorkeling and Akumal Bay, but were content with our ventures in Half Moon Bay and Hal Ku. We also visited the nearby Monkey Sanctuary (awesome, not cheap but for a good cause), and the cave and snorkeling at the cencote Aktun Chen, which was amazing as well. Tulum was so close and a day trip to Chichen Itza and Valladolid were easy to do. We also visited the architectural museum in the jungle at Francisco Uh May, a shorter trip that was well worth it. Great place to stay. Would highly recommend.

Ein Kritikpunkt gibt es auf das kleine Bad. Der Abfluss von der Dusche hat nachts Ć¼belriechende Gase freigesetzt, Das war oft sehr, sehr unangenehm. Ich habe das auch reklamiert. Aber leider hat sich da nicht viel geƤndert. Ansonsten waren wir sehr, sehr zufrieden auch mit unserem Concierge. Perfection!

We could not be happier with our choice in condo, this place is adorable, clean and had a fantastic patio view! This is by far the most perfect condo we have stayed in, it is just as good if not better in person and would 100% stay here again! Also loved half moon bay and how quiet and quaint the area is!

Best spot on Mayan Riviera

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A friend and i stayed at Luna Azul for 8 days. It is the perfect place to chill and enjoy lovely weather, crystal clear water and Mexican hospitality. We asked our maid to only come every other day - though she was supposed to come daily - and she did a fabulous job cleaning.Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Restaurants La Buena Vida and La Lunita are minutes away by foot and offer really tasty food at affordable prices.All service workers wear masks and hand sanitizers/ temp taking are offered at most restaurants. The Midway convenience store across from our villa had all the essentials st better prices than the Chomak in town and the chica working there was helpful and very accommodating.Our only complaint was that taxi prices were inconsistent - we were told a taxi from our villa to Akumal Pueblo would be $10 US (by the guys in the office). We were actually charged $12 one way and $15 the other . When we questioned this (I am fluent in Spanish) they shrugged and basically said ā€œThatā€™s what I chargeā€, unfortunately making us feel we were being taken advantage of. Another couple staying at Luna Azul said they only paid $7 for the same trip. Also - the communication I got from Locogringonsaid that the Covid test would be about $17 when it was in fact $44 🙁Overall, a very satisfactory experience. I had been to Luna Azul about 20 years ago and found that particular stretch of beach pretty much unchanged and as lovely as ever.We didnā€™t want to travel much outside the resort because of Covid, but I would recommend renting a car if youā€™re going to spend more than a few days. Akumal is about a mile walk along brick-paved streets and you probably donā€™t want to do that every day. Akumal Pueblo on the other side of the highway seems impossible to get to without a car. And of course there are so many wonderful ruins, cenotes, and colonial towns to visit as well.

Location is good and near La Buena Vida restaurant and a small market. The staff at the office is very friendly and helpful. The house was very clean, kitchen had everything you need, SmartTV in each bedroom, and blow dryers were available on both bathrooms. I would recommend renting a golf cart as we used it daily to go into the main part of town for breakfast and or dinner. Our only complaint is the beds could be more comfortable in the guest bedroom. We absolutely loved Akumal.

Great place to stay

We loved this place, we would def stay here again if we ever go back. Only thing is thereā€™s no elevators & if you are staying on other floor than the first floor you will have to carry your suitcase.

Akumal and Luna Azulejo - a perfect getaway

I really had no idea or the time to do all the research needed for foreign travel before this trip. A friend told me this place was great I booked it it was beautiful in the pictures it met all of my expectations. If you want to go someplace where you can listen to the waves at night and wake up to the most beautiful view and just relax this is definitely the place for you. Although if youā€™re an avid snorkeler the best snorkeling is right outside your door. A little tricky to get in and out of the water for me. But five minutes away there is a beautiful little lagoon with stairs in and out where you can snorkel to your hearts content. We took a day trip to the underwater caves. And it was absolutely a perfect way to spend a week in Mexico. I wouldā€™ve loved to of stayed more. The staff especially Alex were so kind and helpful. So were the assistance and housecleaning. It really was one of the best vacations Iā€™ve ever had. Thank you

Perfect Spot!!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Before deciding on Unit#5, I did a lot of research. I had preferred a condo with a pool, but this unit and price was perfect. The unit is beautiful and the view and sound of the ocean is unmatched. We were able to walk to a little store, to La Buena Vida and La Lunita. It's located walking distance to the most amazing snorkeling of Yal-Ku Lagoon. We also went to Xel-Ha, Xpu-Ha and the monkey sanctuary. All VERY close. Went to Lol-Ha and listened to a band. Swam with the turtles and went to Puerto Aventuras and Playa Del Carmen. Everything close and easy. The office staff and cleaning staff were wonderful. We rented a car and that was our only initial difficulty(nothing to do with this rental unit) Do NOT use or any other at the airport. After America Rental Cars failed to pick us up at the airport, we called Yes Rental Cars. They provided amazing service for a total of 7 days with insurance and taxes for $315. The night before our trip to Xel-Ha, the car was acting up. I called at 10:00pm and they dropped off an upgraded car by 8:00am the next morning. You definitely need water shoes for most swimming. Miss being there already.
