Monte Pigoli é uma villa italiana restaurada com simpatia, beneficiando das vistas mais surpreendentes sobre as montanhas Apuane. Há uma varanda varrendo a vila, contemplando a vista, e a cozinha, a área de jantar e dois dos quartos levam diretamente para a varanda, dando uma sensação realmente romântica à casa, com o quarto quarto levando diretamente para o jardim para obter esses pontos de vista também!

Entre na propriedade onde há uma sala de estar / cozinha / jantar em plano aberto, linda e bem equipada, que leva a uma varanda que varre todos os lados da casa, levando a um pátio para refeições ao ar livre com vista para a vista e para a área da piscina.

Lovely villa in a quiet location. Would stay there again. Our only comment (and no negative on the villa) would be check the opening times of the local restaurants / shops. Some restaurants were closed Monday/ Tuesday/ Wed and the shop in the village was closed midweek. It was not an issue as we had a car but worth mentioning. It’s really worth booking the local restaurants to ensure you get in as they are busy.

The property was clean and well equipped and the views are simply amazing, we were heartbroken to leave. We walked into the village several times, had dinner in Il Castello and Lino, loved the grocery shop with its bar, and the Osteria was welcoming and always open. The food in both Il Castello and Lino was fairly indifferent, we were really disappointed with Lino but think we may have hit a bad night. Monica & Silvano looks like the best option, unfortunately we didn't try it! We were at the villa for a big family birthday celebration and booked a chef through Tuscan Retreats for the birthday girl. It was absolutely excellent and really good value. We visited Barga and Lucca during our week and part of the group also did Pisa for the day, it's great to have the station at Casternuovo so close by. In terms of the house, our week started with poor weather and we found it a little cold. This was resolved by Giovanna. Guests can control hot water themselves, we did have some issues with this early in the week. The pool was freezing but some of us braved it! We had an absolutely wonderful week in this beautiful property and fell in love with Garfagnana.

A perfect location for our family

The location of this property is absolutely amazing. From opening the windows to the views over to the Apuan Alps first thing in the morning to watching the sun go down below the mountains in the evening, we enjoyed every day we spent here. It wasn't only the view. We loved getting our top-up provisions from the greengrocer and the general shop/bar in the village. We enjoyed having a drink or gelatos at the bar. We walked around the village and the hills exploring the historic bridge on the river. We almost felt a part of this little community by the end of the week. We also took day trips to Lucca, into the mountains and to the coast. The house is clean and well equipped and the pool was a good size for our family.

Wonderful villa with stunning views

As we pulled up to the villa in our car, we gasped at the view over the hilltop village and mountains. It really is magical. The villa itself is clean, well-equipped and in good condition. The beds were comfortable. We made good use of the pool and loungers. The village is 5 minutes' walk away (downhill...quite steep uphill on the way home, but good for burning off all the pizza!!). In the village there are a couple of restaurants, two cafes selling essentials, and a bar with a rooftop terrace overlooking a nearby town. We spent many a happy hour up on that terrace, drinking espresso martinis and limoncello. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. We would definitely come back to this villa and town. It was great.

Great villa, pool, and views

We were a group of 6 friends and the villa was perfect for us. The pool area is lovely, as is the kitchen & dining area, which is just as well because the only restaurant in walking distance is pretty bad. The villa also has a table outside and a BBQ big enough to cook for 6 people. The town is very pretty with a couple of friendly bars, one of which also has a small shop where you can get essentials (inc. wine and fresh bread). The views from the villa of the town and the surrounding hills & mountains is incredible. The villa also faces South/West-ish, so you get plenty of sun and great sunset views. If you're into very hilly cycling the villa is ideally placed, and there are plenty of hikes, mountain bike routes, and local-ish lakes and beauty spots for picnics. A couple of things did break during our stay: we didn't have hot water for a couple of days, but in fairness there had been a huge storm the night before, so that can happen and it was fixed within 36 hours. One of the beds wasn't particularly stable, although we didn't mention it and just propped it up with the jack out of our car, so the owners didn't get chance to address this during our stay. A curtain rail also fell out which only had one screw in it, but the owner was apologetic and it happened on our last night, so again there was no chance to fix this. Overall, we had a lovely time and the villa was perfect for our group. The couple of maintenance issues were nothing really and certainly not anything that would deter us from staying again.

We are sorry you were so unlucky with the storm affecting the water system and that it took a while to sort out - we do usually try for a 24 hour turnaround with any problems so 36 was alot of us...The other maintenance issues you mention have been sorted out, and thank you for letting us know about them when you were there so they could be rectified for subsequent guests. Glad you loved the house and the area and those stunning views! We hope you got to do some sightseeing too in this wonderful location . Trust also that the other really good restaurants in the area made up for the local one which does tend to get mixed reviews. It is a real shame since it is rare to find somewhere here where the food is not excellent. It is good to hear you would look to stay again, and we would be happy to welcome you . Wir hatten eine wirklich tolle Zeit in dem Haus. Es bietet einfach Alles, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht und man findet zu jeder Tageszeit ein schönes Plätzchen rund ums Haus, im Schatten oder in der Sonne. Der private Pool ist toll, man kann grillen, hat Mikrowelle, Spülmaschine und Toaster und einen großen Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach.Giovanna hat jederzeit schnell auf unsere Fragen reagiert und uns geholfen und mit Tipps versorgt. Besonders hat uns die Osteria Monica e Silvano unten im Ort begeistert, aber auch den Ausblick von der Dachterrasse bei Lino bei einer guten Pizza darf man nicht versäumen. Alles in allem waren wir rundum zufrieden und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you had a great stay! Re the pool, it was actually cleaned every 3 days, but this was done early in the mornings while guests were sleeping. We do have a problem with the top border of the pool (above the water) since we had to remove the 'border stickers' and it left a type of staining we cannot get rid of,, which looks dirty, but is in fact clean. We are looking at a solution for 2025. We hope to hear from you another time, best wishes, the team at tuscan-retreats

Sehr schön

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub. Das Ferienhaus war sauber und die Lage ist sehr schön. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Der Blick von den Terrassen war traumhaft. Der kleine Ort ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und man kann dort bei sehr freundlichen Menschen alles für den täglichen Bedarf bekommen. Für uns war die Ausstattung der Küche allerdings einschränkend, wenn man wirklich kochen möchte kommt man schnell an Grenzen. Außerdem ist der Gartentisch sehr wackelig, genauso wie die Gartenliegen.

Mooi uitzicht

De woning is mooi gelegen met een schitterend uitzicht. Het dorpje is erg klein met maar 2 restaurants. Je hebt dus wel een auto nodig. Ik vond de prijs voor de locatie in combinatie met het feit dat je slechts een deel van het huis huurt niet in verhouding staan. Wij waren met 2 personen dus hadden ruimte genoeg. Maar als je hier met 7 personen zit is dit echt heel erg krap qua woonruimte. Wij waren hier 2 weken. Iedere dag was er wel iemand de tuin aan het maaien met een bosmaaier de hele dag door. En echt iedere dag ik overdrijf niet! Erg veel herrie dus gedurende de hele dag. Erg rustig is de locatie niet. Wij zijn eigenlijk heel makkelijk en klaag eigenlijk nooit maar dit was echt wel heel extreem. Er is erg weinig bestek. En van alle borden, kopjes en glazen mist wel een stukje. Misschien eens nalopen door de eigenaar.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you were unhappy with the pricing policy but I am afraid with a villa rental one pays for the entire villa whether there are 2 or 7 of you. We do have plenty of places for 2 guests only that would have been priced differently. The price was of course clear upon booking. We regularly let to groups of 6 or 7 without space issue. We are sorry there was alot of country strimming going on - the area is very rural in the mountains (NB for future guests there are plenty of restaurants reachable by car) and with the drought all land owners were asked to clean their land/cut vegetation as a matter of urgency to prevent risk of fire so there will have been lots of land care all going on at the same time. If you had mentioned that you were missing any items the property manager would have brought them immediately - that is what she is there for . We have just done a double check and see there is loads of cutlery (drawer under oven - maybe you missed it ) but that it looks like we need more cereal bowls (the ones there are too large) and more tumblers (13 wine glasses unfortunately don't make up for this!) and possibly some more side plates - we will update immediately. Fin bolig med fantastisk utsikt.

Fint feriehus med det meste av fasiliteter. Enkelte ting svarte ikke til forventningene. Kjøkkenet var sparsommelig utstyrt og nødvendige ting manglet. Dette burde eier enkelt ha ordnet. Måtte kjøpe både stekepanne og vinglass. Videre kunne det vært et større bord ute til bespisning. Et bad med kun badekar er litt tungvint. Burde også vært en dusj. Måtte be om bytting av sengetøy samt klipping av plenene eller det man kan kalle plen. Bassenget var rent PG pent. Vi hadde flotte 14 dager i boligen. Vi ble ikke møtt av noen når vi kom og traff kun hun som vasket bassenget i løpet av vårt opphold. Castiglione er veldig liten og begrenset spisemuligheter. Trend Cafe med takterrasse falt i smak. Det gjorde ikke IL Castello. Elendig service. Ellers er det flere spennende steder å se innen 1 time kjøring. Ellers stille og rolig.

Thank you for your 4 star review, and we are glad you had a great fortnight! We hope you explored the area too with the benefit of our information pack. I dont really understand the comment re the shower, since there are 2 shower rooms with proper showers and there is also a handheld shower on the bath. Thank you also for your feedback re items missing - do please e mail separately if there was anything else missing so we can ensure that they are provided for future guests. Giovanna, the property manager is available 24 hours per day and would have brought along anything needed at the time, since we would not expect you to have to shop for anything! Giovanna no longer greets guests on arrival, or make a specific time to visit, since we have found over the years that most guests prefer to let themselves in and start to relax immediately, knowing help is a phone call away if required ..... This is why your pre information pack suggests you register with her via Whatsapp or via text to make initial contact and so she can assist with anything at all . We understand Giovanna met you when she came up to clean the pool. Thank you for your comments re the dining table - this has been passed on and will be addressed. Finally, sincere apologies that you had to remind us re the mid stay change of linen and grass cutting etc. This is usually done every week as a matter of course, but for some reason Giovanna ommitted this from her list for that week and sends her apologies . I understand you called about this oversight on Saturday evening and that the situation was rectified the following day. Thank you again for your feedback. Lorraine at tuscan-retreats

Beautiful villa with stunning views

Very beautiful villa in a peaceful area. You can walk to the little village below and enjoy cocktails in a little bar with stunning views. We love this area of Tuscany, more quiet and more affordable than the others parts of Tuscany (e.g. near Sienna and Florence for example). We found the most amazing restaurants nearby (but you need to drive) and a gorgeous lake for swimming. The villa itself if very comfortable and well furnished. The pool is beautiful and the views are to do for! We will definitely return to the area. Thank you!

Godt hus til 6-8 pers,el. 4 par. Dejlig fred og ro, Skøn udsigt.

Super sted, dejlig fred og ro. Dejlig temperatur, til at holde ud om natten. Huset er fint, men køkkenet burde have ligget med udgang til poolområdet. Superfin til 6-8 personer. Rigtig fin udsigt over byer og til bjerge. Skøn solnedgang. Skønne små byer i området, der er værd at besøge. Rigtig godt cykelområde.
