This home has 2 levels and is located at 401 9th Street in Key Colony Beach. Private Boat dock that is 37 and half feet long. Only one trailer can be parked on property. Lower ground level has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a family room. Family room on ground level opens to pool deck and has sleeper sofa. Both bedrooms have a king . Upper level has Living Room,Dining Area ,Kitchen,2 bedrooms one is a King bed, the other is twin beds and 2 baths. We own the other unit next door and can be booked separately on VRBO # 704885. The two units have a door that can open between them. Each side has it's own pool and sleeps 10 including the pull out sleeper sofa. Pool will be heated in Winter for additional charge of $100 per week. Don't add pool charge in the summer.
Amenities Include: 6 TV's,gas grill,4 bicycles,garage, dock,fish cleaning table, electric and water, bait freezer,hair dryers in all baths,beach towels, bath towels, all dishware and pans,coffee maker, extra pillows and blankets for sofa sleeper.

Key Colony Beach is a very safe quiet community. There are 4 restaurants,3 bars,executive golf course, tennis courts,basketball courts and extra trailer parking on island for $100/week storage. The dock on each side is 37 1/2 ft. There is a propane grill and 4 bikes.
ONLY purchase pool heat in winter months. It is listed as "pool" in fees section. Pool is free but heat is additional charge.

Refunds for Hurricane or Covid: Unless there is a mandatory evacuation for weather we don't refund. And we only refund for Covid if we are mandated not to rent by City/State.
If you are traveling during hurricane season would recommend getting travel insurance.

Great location in Marathon for boating and close to restaurants. The house has plenty of room, updates are evident and everything worked great. 2 story layout was fine for us. It’s nice having the swimming pool to relax in after boating and fishing. Host responded to questions. Can’t wait to visit again.

Beautiful home on the water

Beautiful, clean home with a pool on the water. I was worried with it being a duplex, but privacy was not a problem. Even outside, there was a privacy wall. We had everything we needed. If I had any suggestions, it would be that maybe the mattress could be upgraded. I would definitely rent this home again. It was great for my family of eight - mostly adults.

Clean, well furnished, paper products and toiletries furnished, kitchen had everything necessary for meal preparation. Overall a wonderful place to stay in the Keys!

Family & Friends for a 50th birthday week!

We had a wonderful week together in the Keys at this fabulous house! Loved the pool, location, dock etc. plenty of space, bathrooms and it worked out perfectly.

Love this house

Great place to rent. Owner is a super nice guy, had a little issue from the previous renters owner came over almost immediately and took care of it. Look forward to staying at this beautiful property again.

Nice place to stay

The house is a nice place and George, the maintenance person, is kind and responsive. The key wasn't in the lockbox, but George answered and told me how to get in. The linens in the master bedroom leave a lot to be desired; they seem to be from the 80s. The yellow bedspread shown in the pics wasn't on the bed, but it was in the closet to use, and it was badly stained. The kitchen was missing quite a bit, but George took care of us and got the things we needed. Location is great and we would stay there again.

Fourth time renting this property

Perfect location. Minor requests handled immediately. Quiet neighborhood. Nice pool and dock. Well stocked kitchen, but owner may want to refresh cookware and silverware, and toss redundant tools in the spatula drawer.

Family vacation 2023

We have stayed several times at this property over the years, cleanliness has never been very good. The property is now in need of some routine maintenance. We love the location, size of the property and the private pool. We will be back again.

Best location ever!

This property is perfect for large families and/or friend groups. Home is spacious and there's plenty of privacy with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths. The pool, decks, and canal are bonuses! Amazing manatees swam up to our dock to be petted 3 days in a row! We saw shark and beautiful sting rays daily. Location is perfect! Neighborhood is friendly and safe. We enjoyed nightly sunsets at Sunset Beach, with the locals. If you truly want to experience the culture of the Keys, this is your place!

Love the place

This is our third time renting this duplex...We love the layout and it has so much space for our group. The past 2 times have been great and clean, this time the place wasn't as clean as in the past. Some things were also broke but George was present everyday and took care of all the issues right away. George was amazing! I just would hope some more attention is given to cleaning the unit better. The space is perfect for large groups though!

Great location, size and condition

Location rocked. Not too far of a drive to Key West. Cabana was fun. Kids loved the pool. Worker great for our two families- one up and one down. Loved all the patios and bathrooms. However there was no TP, no paper towels, no garbage bags....first time at a rental that don’t have. Things were broken, emailed owner on these items New bed pillows strongly suggested. Did not get good response time for owner, at one point had to go through VRBO customer service to get answers.

7/15-22/2023 stay

This property was nice. I saw a couple things that could have been cleaner or in better working order. It was great to have a pool and pool towels provided as well as dock space. The location is very convenient for boating and getting around Marathon. We had plenty of space to spread out and relax when we were home. It was also nice to have an additional refrigerator in the garage and a bait freezer. We had difficulty with the wifi. The property manager came and spent quite a while trying to make it work.

Great Experience

We had a great experience and loved our stay. The local property manager, George, did a great job communicating with us. We had a large group of 8 on our side and another 6 on the other side of the duplex. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans, we had towels and pool towels. The swimming pool was great, and the location along the canal was beautiful. Within an hr of arriving, we had a manatee and her baby swim up to greet us. We were disappointed that we couldn't use the Cabana Club especially since we had paid for it. It seems the property itself does not have a membership there. When we communicated that with the property manager, he was quick to refund that portion of our bill. Thankfully we had our own pool otherwise we really would have been upset. Overall the property was really clean. It would use some fresh paint as you can see where it has been touched up and painted half way up the wall and then stopped. Obviously, that doesn't affect the stay but more as a note to the owner. Also, one of the bottom steps had a loose tile. Would definitely stay again. Great for large and small groups, with or without kids.

Needs some TLC

This was the perfect location and the fact that the house didn’t meet all standards didn’t change how amazing our trip was. With that said, we took our family for a day at the cabana/beach which was part of the house “amenities” and were turned away and told the membership was not renewed. The beds were not at all comfortable and the linens were very cheep with a table cloth for a comforter. The dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes so we had to hand wash all the dishes all week, the dishwasher also had mold. The chair fell over and a ton of old food fell out on the floor, I assume all the chairs have dried up food in them. We didn’t have a broom only a vacuum which was completely clogged, we cleaned it but it still didn’t work great. The floors were not clean when we got there and there were no rugs on the floor. On a good note, we had clean towels and the bathrooms were nice. The house could be very nice with a little TLC. All in all, it was not horrible and we had a great time but we were disappointed with the upkeep of this rental.

Needs TLC

Our friends, fishing, boating, and the fact that we were in the FL Keys made this a great vacation. I would choose a different place to stay. The first clue that we would have issues was the property manager wasn’t expecting us. We got in, and the AC in the upstairs part of the condo was not working. When we called, he said we needed to go next door, but there was a family who had just arrived there as well. Thankfully, the manager had someone come and fill the AC unit the next day, but it ran out and we had to call again and again. Near the end of our stay the workers came and seemingly fixed the problem. We had to purchase a box fan and smaller fans because the overhead fan in the bedroom also wasn’t working. I’m hoping this unit gets some work done after we’re gone. Some tiles were loose or broken on the stairs, the walls and doors needed cleaned and touched up with paint, the dishwasher was moldy, so we hand washed dishes all week, the light above the kitchen table was burnt out, we had to go searching for towels. There were no linens for the extra pillows in the closet. There were instructions in the kitchen for a beautiful new grill, but ours was rusted through and not clean. My girls and I scrubbed the liner of the pool because there was a black ring that smudged every time you touched it. Outside a boat post was loose, and the first time we swung a rope around it to dock the boat… it broke in half. Wait a while before booking this location.

Excellent location, great house and pool, pet friendly, very responsive hosts

This house was just what we needed this year. It had plenty of room, a large living area that was nicely decorated and comfortable, great location, Cabana Club membership, garage, bait freezer and extra refrigerator, bikes, and the pool in the backyard was a well-enjoyed added bonus. The host was very responsive to any questions that we had.
