We found the house to be clean overall, and the neighborhood was quiet and pleasant. However, there were several things about the property that made our stay less enjoyable than we had hoped. There were quite a few personal items left in the dresser drawers and closets, which made it difficult to use the available storage. One of the bedrooms was not shown in the listing photos; it contains the queen bed and has older, green-colored carpet that made the room feel quite dated. The yard also appeared to be overdue for mowing when we arrived, and unfortunately, it was not mowed during our week-long stay. In the front bedroom with the twin beds, there was an ant infestation around the window that I had to take care of myself. The bathroom was another concern. The shower floor appeared to be sinking, and there were numerous signs of previous water damage on the walls, along with what appeared to be possible mold. These issues made us somewhat uncomfortable using the bathroom.Overall, the home was considerably more dated than we expected based on the listing. While it was clean and the location itself was quiet and pleasant, several maintenance and upkeep issues took away from the experience. One other thing to be aware of: if you plan to use the fire pit, the firewood has to be carried through the house because there is no other access to the backyard. It would be helpful for future guests to know this in advance. Plus there is a distinct damp smell throughout.
