Casa#219 is a DIRECT oceanfront 2 bedroom 2 bath property that sits right on the water. HUGE lanai!

This unit has everything you will need to feel like you are royalty: a great big king bed and two twin sized beds. It also has a fully stocked kitchen with a view of the ocean as well. Casa De Emdeko offers owners and guests the perfect blend of Hawaiian ambiance with tropical gardens and the songs of the many colorful birds enjoying the water features in the garden. Enjoy our garden pool located in the middle of a tropical setting. Casa also has one of the few oceanfront pools where you can swim and soak up the warm Hawaiian sun while watching the whales or dolphins play, depending on the season of your visit. Swaying palm trees on our private, sandy sunning area at the ocean's edge offers glorious sunsets with a special sense of serenity. Our cabana, barbecues and lanai tables are perfect for dinner gatherings with friends and making new friends from around the world.

*Casa will be replacing the chiller the week of 9/23/24 - 9/27/24.
Unfortunately, there will be no air conditioning at the residential or commercial buildings for five days because the chiller system will be turned off for repairs.*

Everything was perfect. The unit is exactly like the pictures. Location is great. Close to town but far enough away you don’t hear the hustle and bustle of town. Sitting on the lanai having breakfast looking out at the ocean was a dream. We took a video to watch mornings at home while having breakfast there.We only used the salt water pool right on the ocean edge. One could walk right into the water. WiFi was fantastic even while out on the beach area. We couldn’t have asked for more. The management company even called our first day to be sure everything was as expected. One day there was a slight issue with a toilet and they responded immediately. Can’t ask for more than that. Kitchen and entire condo was very well supplied. Planning to return hopefully next year!

The unit is ideally situated at the end of a building giving you three sides of ocean views. The large lanai is amazing, and the nicely updated interior is very comfortable. My family enjoyed the close proximity to the large salt water pool.It is good to know if you are someone with mobility issues, or forgetting luggage up to your room, while there is an elevator, there is a series of 2 to 3 step level changes to navigate. Less than 20 minutes from the Tacoma airport and close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

Perfect Location & Beautiful Lanai

Condo location is right on the water with incredible ocean views. Very peaceful! Condo is clean, roomy, and comfortable. Updated kitchen and bathrooms are nice. Biggest attraction is the wrap around lanai. You’ll spend every minute there! Knutson management is exceptional. They check in often and quickly address questions or concerns. Very accessible. My family has stayed in this community before and I highly recommend it.

The unit is lovely and well located. We had an issue with a dripping shower that continually splashed water all over the floor. When we asked for service management sent us a bucket and a mop so we could clean it up ourselves. It took a week to get it “fixed” so that it no longer dripped, but then only dispensed cold water. Bed has too much plastic covering. Like sleeping in a plastic bag.

Best Location n Kona!

Lanai has views on both the west and north side for those amazing sunsets - complete with residents who blow the conch shells to mark the moment. Property has both a chlorine and salt-water pool, with the salt-water one located right at water’s edge. So much fun when those waves come crashing into the pool. Great communication with Knutson & Asso Prop Mgmt before and during our stay. Casa de Emdeko is our favorite Kona location ... and 219 is our favorite unit!

So disappointing vacation was not to be camping trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was a great location but the fact the ac didn’t work and we were given the run around was upsetting. After 24 hours of no ac and being told they are working on it to use fans was not acceptable. As a manager stood there and watch it jump up in temperatures she could see this was an issue. The first night was so bad as air was not moving I slept on balcony on an air mattress. After most of the next day spent on phone/text with management keeping me from enjoying my day and still no ac I called Airbnb and they said go to a hotel, we will credit you and they agreed this was not right so after a wasted day on this we packed up and went to Royal Kona down the road and was in a room nice and cool.

Casa De Emdeko located at near center of Kailua Kona. Building was old but well maintained. The ocean front room was quiet and cozy for us. View was excellent, the wide open ocean. Sound of wave is wild. It was full moon while we stayed, so waves were higher than ever. Salt water pool just next to the ocean was fun. The owner that we saw him often in KTA or Safeway casher respond me soon on WiFi trouble asking. The only disappoint thing was low water pressure in the shower.

Kona Paradise - Perfect for families

This place is exactly as pictured and met all of our needs and expectations. We’re a young couple with 3 kids (ages 6 and under). The place was a perfect size, had a washer/dryer in it, all kitchen appliances and needs, beach toys, snorkel gear, beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels which are all huge benefits when traveling from afar - less to be packed! Initial needs were supplied and then we restocked as we used things up. Everything worked and anything we needed we simply text the number provided and within the same day our questions were answered or need was met. We were there for 10 days towards the middle into end of June and barely saw anyone…as in it is so peaceful and quiet and at any given time our family was normally the only ones, or accompanied by one other family at most at either pool. Not crowded AT ALL, but still close enough to everything - the main drive, shops etc. Other guests were kind and respectful and shared tons of good information as a lot of them were condo owners. Communication was great with the rental company and they were very proactive in reaching out and keeping up with us to ensure all our needs were met. I highly recommend this property and rental company! All I mentioned were just added features as I’d pay this and stay here a million times just for the view we had. We added this to our list of places we’d stay again for sure!

Location Location

Pros: Location is great. View from porch is awesome. House was clean. Furnishings were fine. Cons: while mgmt was good with answering calls with problems, there were still problems and none resolved during my stay. Dirty pots and pans. There isnt enough silverware for 6 people. Overall kitchen is lacking what I would consider essential items. Door fell off utility room and stayed that way. Broken dining chair and bar stool. This unit is best for 2 adults and 2 small children. We had to rent another condo after arriving to accomodate our family as the 2nd bdrm twin beds are made for younger children and the hide away bed was dirty and had a 1 inch thick mattress. The biggest con with this rental unit is that I reserved it 1 year prior but then in Jan 2024, i received a price increase. To say i was astounded will put it mildly. When I asked how Knutson {mgr} said i should find it in the contract. I couldnt. It was then pointed out buried in a long paragraph as one sentence. They can raise your rate whenever they want and however many times they want. I have rented a lot of places in my life but this was a first. Knutson's employee gave me a take it or leave it. BUYER BEWARE. THIS COULD BE A BAIT AND SWITCH.

Perfect stay in Kona

Everything about our stay was perfect. The condo was exactly as described, the hosts were communicative from beginning to end and the location great. We will stay here again when we come back to Kona!

It’s also in a great location, has two pool options, and a great outdoor BBQ area. It’s does need some touch up paint and lacks amenities (so make sure you pack your own) but we truly enjoyed the condo and property and would absolutely stay here again.

We loved the lanai and the views of the ocean was breathtaking. We loved sitting out and watching the waves and the whales. The property is showing its age a little, but the unit and the property was very clean. The kitchen has been remodeled and very up to date. We couldn’t leave our front door open at night because of the hemp smoke smell coming from the people on the property next to this property. Other than that we loved it.

Short Notice Rate Increase: 219 Casa De Emdeko corner condo

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I booked this property over 6 months in advance through VRBO and a contract from Knutson as the property manager. I got an email from VRBO confirming the full price and thought that was that. About a month and a half before the trip I was notified by Knutson that despite the contract the rate would go up by $300 dollars due to a tiny clause in Knutson's contract allowing the owner to raise the price. I was given the option to either pay the extra or they would let me out of the contract. At that time it would have been very difficult to find another comparable unit since it is a popular area and units get rented well in advance. Knutson rep was not very apologetic about it, pretty much take it or leave it. So be sure to pay in full through Knutson asap to avoid increases, and even then, beware of a price increase. Other than that, the unit was in a gorgeous location. The unit is older but decently well maintained. A musty smell upon entry, but to be fair it was very humid in Kona. Kitchen well appointed; some signs of wear on the furniture; twin beds VERY firm/hard; sheets for king bed wouldn't stay on the bed. The bedrooms are next to the entry door. Beautiful lanai. The older louvered glass floor-to-ceiling window in the small twin bedroom allows a lot of wind and sound in to that bedroom; not a deal breaker but when we had a bit of a storm one night the adults staying in that room ended up sleeping on the couches, which were actually quite comfortable. Management while there was very prompt and responsive. It is a hike to get to parking from this unit but worth it for the direct oceanside views. The complex is very well maintained and quiet. There was no one there when we arrived to check in. Called mgmt and were told to just fill out a form there regarding our rental car info. Overall I would recommend this unit for the great location and stunning views.

Excellent Property

This location is just plain Stunning! Having the sea at your feet and the sun set in full view is excellent. The condo was very well kept up and all the appliances worked perfectly. Thank you for having a coffee grinder and a standard drip coffee maker. This made enjoying the local coffees easy. The salt water swimming pool is really nice! It does take a bit of a walk to get to and from the condo, but it is worth it. The only downside was the lack of parking inside the gate of the complex. But it worked out for the most part.

The property as a whole is a bit dated, but this specific unit is in good shape. Great selection of appliances and cookware.As some others have said, it is a little bit of a walk to get to the unit, and there is no convenient way up/down the stairs. But this would only be a concern for some that have mobility problems. Otherwise, it is no big deal at all.
