This 2nd row home is just steps away from the white sands of Holden Beach. Boasting a brand new look for 2022 you will find that the entire home has a fresh coat of paint, new luxury vinyl plank throughout and an updated kitchen. This lovely 4 bedroom / 2 bath home has an open living room, dining and well equipped kitchen. Sliding glass doors lead to a nice ocean facing rocking front porch. Take in the ocean breeze, sunrise and sunsets while relaxing with your favorite beverage. Vaulted ceiling in the comfortable living room area. 2 Queen bedrooms are located downstairs with a shared full bath. 1 Queen bedroom, and 1 bedroom with 2 twins beds and a shared bath are on the upper level. Washer and Dryer is located on the first level. Wifi, cable, and smart flat screen tv's. Outside offers under house and driveway paved parking, outdoor hot/cold enclosed shower, basketball goal, fish cleaning station, park style charcoal grill and a nice level yard. This home is very comfortable, clean, affordable, and is just steps away from the beach. Enjoy watching the boats and various coastal wildlife from your rear deck overlooking the marshlands and the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway. "Buck Stops Here" acquired its name from the abundance of deer witnessed from this home, grazing during low tide. Excellent location

The place was clean just needing some maintenance issues resolved. The maintenance man Mike was very nice and fixed or addressed everything quickly. I will definitely come back again.

Great location

My son, DIL, and I stayed at the Buck for 10 days with their dog. The location was perfect and the weather the last week of September was great. There is definitely some wear-n-tear of the furniture that could be improved but since we stayed with a pet it was OK. The setup of the house is good and the kitchen is well stocked. However one of the burners on the stove wasn't usable but we worked around that easily. The AC in the upstairs bedrooms wasn't working and maintenance fixed that very quickly. It's nice that there are separate thermostats for the upstairs and downstairs so people can determine their own comfort level.

The location of this property was average. It wasn't on the beach as the description suggests (second row) and it's a LOOONG ways down the strip away from the connectors/restaurants. However, it was close to public beach access and public parking. The cleaning was so/so, especially considering the expectation to preemptively clean before the cleaning crew comes. I wasn't impressed with the home itself - old, needed renovations, furniture looked like it came from the good will. Like I said in the title, average. It does the job but it's nothing to call home about....

Hazards

I have several suggestions for this property. The online listing needs updated photos. The house was not the cleanest upon arrival and everything seemed dingy! Dirty cabinets, floors etc. A major issue with the house is soft spots in the living, dining and kitchen floors. They were scary to walk on. The balcony out from the master has several broken posts in the railing and exposed nails throughout. This property needs some major TLC to be considered a kid friendly rental

Wonderful views but needs new living room furniture

The location is close to the beach access. The views were incredible. The living furniture needs to be replaced as it was stained and dirty. We covered the couches with extra sheets we had brought with us. The living room chair was nasty and no one would use it.

House was great. Could update a few things but overall it was fine. Location super and lots of great restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend.

Where to start?

Let's see, pulled up to find it doesn't look like the photos. Second there were nails and a used razor laying on the carport and walk up area. The house was dirty. The showers were horrible. The cooking stuff was laughable, all tore up and rusty. The dish washer didn't work. And we were not informed we'd have to put sheets on our own beds lol. We will not be using this property management company in the future.

Lovely house.

We had a great time. It was wonderful that we could bring our dog with us. Although a dog friendly house, the couches could've been litte cleaner. The couches looked dirty and lots of dog hair. Other than that, the house was clean. We enjoyed our stay very much

Great Potential

The property has the potential to be fantastic. You have views of the ocean and the salt marsh. But, the property needs a lot of work. The flooring between the living room and hall was very soft and squishy. We tried our best to avoid the area while we were there. We notified management and they sent someone to check right away. The furniture had a lot of dog hair from the last occupant and the kitchen floor was not moped. Hopefully over the winter upgrades will be made. I would totally stay again.

Location, Location, Location

First I want to say that we had a fabulous week at Holden Beach. The location of this house was fantastic! No, it isn't ocean front, but with beach access across the street, it is pretty close. The fact that it sits on the marsh, gives you a lot of privacy on the back deck and it was the perfect place to sit and drink coffee while the rest of the family was still sleeping. Also, because of where the house is situated, with fewer houses near-by, the beach itself was never crowded. That being said my husband is still complaining about the distance from the bridge (it may be a 7 minute drive, not a huge deal). I loved being able to have our pups with us, they loved going on walks and it was nice to not have to worry about them while we were on vacation. There is some give and take with staying in a dog friendly house. Previous guests had obviously let their pups soil the carpet and the house itself was not very clean. Dog hair was everywhere and there was a faint ammonia smell to the house when you walk in the door. The carpet in the house was disgusting. The kitchen was not stocked very well. I believe there was a total of 7 forks, which makes feeding a family of 4 pretty difficult, but we managed. There was a coffee maker, a toaster and enough dishes as long as you run the dishwasher every day. On the plus side, the microwave in the house was amazing! The furniture in the living room was filthy, even the covers on top of the furniture were pretty bad. However, I had seen a previous review and came prepared with plenty of sheets to cover the couches. The couches and beds were all very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and being able to run back to the house from the beach without it being a huge ordeal was worth every penny. My only suggestion is to get rid of the carpet and buy a set of utensils. Thank you for offering the house at an affordable price.

This was a worry free stay! Perfect location across the street from the beach, the bedrooms are all plenty large, everything was in fine working condition to make for a great week at the beach! The house was spotless upon arrival!

Great location

We liked this property. Great location, great views & loved that we could bring our pets. Great yard, garage and view of marsh. House needs a lot of tlc. Furniture in den needs replacing. I used bed sheets to cover furniture because it was so dirty. Painting in all rooms needs to be done. Cleanliness was a 3 out of 5. Would stay here again.

Perfect location, dirty and aged property

The location here was great between the beach access being practically across the street and the marsh leading to waterway outback. The house was very aged, beat up, and unclean. The rental property person arrived at 3:00 to inspect the property, we paid for early check-in for 2:00pm so it was odd to have the place inspected afterwards. Also during COVID the company was extremely unforgiving in allowing refunds or credit toward future rentals. My ten month old was crawling on floor for about two minutes and her hands, feet and lefts were completely black. The floor was unclear under furniture, blinds damaged in multiple rooms and ceiling fans with quarter inch of dust. We also encountered ants in kitchen and a few giant cockroaches.

Very suprised

For the amount of rental per day this house really needs work done to it. Not to mention ALL the supplies you needed to bring or buy. House we rented on Holden Beach earlier in the month more homey feeling and owner had excellent communication with us. Also supplied all your basic essentials as Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap in bathroom. The price per day on that home was well worth it. This house..... NOPE. Will not rent this one again and probably not use this rental company again either. They are clearly just out to make money and don't care too much about the house.

Exactly what I needed

Super cold AC, all appliances you need. Very easy to access the beach. Most certainly the best part was the view of the inlet marsh. Don't hesitate to rent!

Made the Best of It

This house is adequate but completely misses the mark when it comes to welcoming details.The white kitchen cabinets look dirty b/c glue used to repair the laminate counter was not cleaned off (this is the 1st thing you see walking into the kitchen) Cannot see out of the kitchen window- it is completely ruined with mildew & moisture b/t the panes.The ceiling in the kitchen is very unattractive with what looks like multiple repairs/ patching. Several walls have multiple holes & marks where things used to hang despite boasting a new paint job.The ONLY towel bar in the master bath was falling out of the wall-looked like a few botched repairs had already been attempted. The all white furniture is badly stained. We saw cockroaches on two separate occasions, that made the ants in the kitchen seem not so bad. The vinyl siding and porches are FILTHY and in serious need of a good wash-especially not pleasant since these are the areas where we sit to enjoy vacation-In fact the door leading to back deck is green with mildew. The bottom step of deck stairs is a tripping hazard b/c it not the right height. Multiple people tripped-I actually fell ! Of the outdoor plastic furniture, several chairs were not usable as they were broken and our bare legs were pinched in the broken seats!. Upon arrival, we encountered a house in need of housekeeping touch ups. The mini blinds & lampshades were laden with dust. The white walls showed a ton of dirty handprints on handrail & walls around the stairs.Outside there was a filthy plastic table & chairs upside down on the concrete covered in dust/dirt & spider webs & a picnic table covered in sand-all of it obvious to not having been cleaned in a long time. On the main porch was an ashtray filled with butts. We've rented multiple homes in different areas and this house, with its presentation upon arrival, was a huge disappointment . We made the best of all of this because after the 13 hour car ride to this "affordable,comfortable,and clean " non-smoking beach house, it was after all,our vacation. The house is in a great location and has very easy beach access.

Great location However in need of some TLC

Great location, however this property is in need of some repairs and maintenance. The rental price is more than it should be, based upon the following needs. One of the bedrooms in the downstairs area needs a new mattress, current one is rock hard and has a large swale in the middle. ANTs in the kitchen every morning. Possible roach seen in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The microwave over the stove has melted plastic on its bottom side. Kitchen counter trim has become detached. Lock in the side door still not working correctly after having a maintenance man out to replace the lock. There's an area approximately two feet inside the sliding glass door from the front porch that has a large dip in the floor. Need a second frying pan.
