PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

Modern convenience and Cape Cod charm converge in this beautifully updated, family-friendly four bedroom, three bathroom circa 1930s double-gabled cottage in the "The Avenues" of West Hyannisport. Thoughtfully renovated between 2018 and 2021, the property features a 2018 gunite heated in-ground pool with an attached hot tub, a travertine patio, and a stunning stone-clad gas fire pit and outdoor living area. The beautifully manicured grounds also feature an outdoor shower, an enclosed, mainly level backyard, and a generous screen-in porch.

Inside, the open-plan living and dining area is anchored by a quartz-capped island (2020) and features double-height Cathedral ceilings and professional quality appliances, including a new Bertazzoni range. Hunker down at the oversized island (seats 4) or unwind at the built-in banquette in the dining area. The main level also includes two bedrooms (including an ensuite master with a queen bed and an additional bedroom with two twin beds) and two newly renovated modern baths with marble tile and elegant new fixtures. There is also an office on this level with a clever daybed that pulls out to sleep two additional people, making for the perfect work-from-home spot or nap spot. The upper level offers two more bedrooms, one with two twin beds and the other with a queen and one twin, and a newly renovated third full bath. A pocket door between the first and second floors pulls out so that families sharing the home can have additional quiet/privacy. Enjoy the comfort of central air, modern fixtures and finishes, and a dedicated laundry room off the kitchen. The pool is outfitted with a custom push-button safety cover, adding to the convenience and family-friendly vibe.

The neighborhood is in a wonderfully convenient Cape Cod location nestled between Hyannisport on one side and Centerville on the other, and the house has deeded rights to a small private community beach/park and kayak launching spot (Seaside Park) less than half a mile away. Craigville Beach, Covell's Beach and the Barnacle Clam Shack are also within walking distance or short driving distance (approximately 1.3 miles) and the house comes equipped with a transferable rental beach parking pass that can be used at any one of Barnstable County's gorgeous beaches. The shops and restaurants of Centerville and Hyannis are also close at hand.

With regard to tech and connectivity, there are flat screen TV's in both the living room and in the children's bedroom on the main level. Wireless Internet is included, as well as Netflix, Prime Video, and HBO via YouTubeTV.

Beautiful house, clean, and tastefully decorated. We had such fun in the pool and, when we wanted something different, there were multiple gorgeous beaches within a couple of miles. And the owner even provides a beach pass! Communication with the owner was clear and easy, too. In short, we canā€™t wait to stay again!

Perfect vacation week

Wonderful stay. One of the best weeks we have had in forever. Elisabeth is an amazing host. House was great for two families with little kiddos - we hardly left the pool. Proximity to beaches and town is excellent. We hope to return!!!

Great backyard, house, and location

This house was perfect for our family of 5 and another couple. Just a short drive to Craigville Beach, which was wonderful! The included beach pass was a plus! We absolutely loved the backyard! Used the pool, hot tub and fire pit every day! Perfect location to explore all that Cape Cod has to offer!! Highly recommend!

The pool was the highlight of the stay for the adults as well as the kids! It was lovely! The house

I, who never get sick, got sick on Monday and remained sick until Thursday, but I soldiered on b/c this trip had been planned for so long. The ocean was fantastic. We had rain Tuesday, Wednesday and most of Thursday but VRBO has nothing to do with that. We loved Hyannis, Marthaā€™s Vineyard, Sandwich and Chatham. My family had a great time.

Perfect Summer Getaway

Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is spacious and clean. Plenty of room for our family of 5 although we spent most of our time outside enjoying the pool and taking walks to the private beach. All of the restaurant recommendations were helpful when we didn't feel like cooking at home. The owner was extremely responsive to questions. All in all a wonderful escape!

This was our second year staying in this beautiful home. We had three generations ages 21-78. The house easily accommodated us. The outside yard , fire pit , hot tub and heated in ground pool are the true hallmarks of this property ! It is a genuine oasis . It is only a mile to the beach which is extremely convenient, and having the beach pass makes parking a breeze. There are also plenty of seating options outside and inside. Communication with the owner is always quick and easy! She responds almost immediately via text or email. The central AC keeps the house very comfortable . The only suggestion (and a minor one) is possible replacement of the outdoor grill. We look forward to returning next year !!

An Outdoor Getaway

While the house itself is comfortable and updated, the true gem of this property is the outdoor space. Whether relaxing and reading (during the kiddoā€™s nap time) by the gas fire pit or playing in the wonderful hit tub or heated pool, there was something for everyone in the outdoor space. The owner takes pool safety incredibly seriously and the house and pool are equipped with multiple layers of protection to allow enjoyment of a private pool without any stress. The biggest critique of the property and outdoor space is the dated grill that had not appeared to have been cleaned in quite some time. The food debris under the grates created a significant amount of smoke which made us uncomfortable with its use.

Family tradition

We just finished our fourth year renting this property. This property has everything needed for an enjoyable week. The inside of the home has areas for all to have their own space. The backyard is where most of the memories are made. The children enjoy the pool as the adults enjoy the jacuzzi. If there are any problems the owner is very quick to answer and take care of any problems. We always hope to be back the next year.

Beautifully Updated House in the "Avenues"

Beautifully updated (including bathrooms and kitchen) house in the "Avenues". The home is the perfect size for vacationing and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The outside entertainment area, which includes a pool, hot tub and gas fireplace is the perfect addition to the house when "you" are done with the beach/ocean. Property owner is very responsive and well organized with information for a stress free stay. Would highly recommend this property to others looking for a vacation in the cape.

Disappointing

It makes me very sad that we must write this review but want to be honest. We did not find this property suitable for our familyā€™s yearly vacation. Although it is clear that the owner put a lot of work into bathroom and kitchen renovations, we were not satisfied with the overall cleanliness of this home. We rented this house the last week of June (which is relatively early in the season), and it was clear that there was little preparation/maintenance for the summer rental season. There were food/dirt/crusty spots on every fabric surface in the dining and living room areas. There were dirty socks and covid masks scattered in places, not one empty cabinet for rentersā€™ food, uncleaned spills in refrigerator, freezer, and microwave, missing or burnt-out light bulbs and cobwebs everywhere. No shade or curtain in the bathroom facing the neighborā€™s house. The smoke alarms and CO detector were beeping and even after replacing batteries were not operational. Outdoor shower did not work, pollen/mold all over patio, firepit chairs unraveling (owner said new chairs are on order). They are in the process of updating the grill, but grill brushes and accessories were disgusting. The outside area is the star of this rental. The fire pit, pool and hot tub were great, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time outside after we removed debris from the patio and wiped down the outside furniture. The pool was unusable for the first 2 days as the heater was never turned on and the vaccum was not working. I will say the owner was very responsive and nice to deal with. She responded in a timely manner when we emailed her and provided her pictures of the issues. She told us she was going to look for a new cleaning service and offered us a refund of our cleaning fee. We very much appreciate the gesture, but we would much rather get what we paid from the start. We hope there is preparation in the future for the rental season, so guests donā€™t have to do the work after a long day of travelling and unpacking. Itā€™s just not a great way to start a vacation that you look forward to for so long. We hope she can find a cleaning service to manage her property in the manner it deserves.

Family vacation

Another great rental at this property. Our family gets together a week each summer. The pool is perfect as grandchildren have a love for the water. The upgrades to the residence makes this property more enjoyable to stay. The large kitchen island made it easy for us to spread out.

Nice location! Great outdoor space

This house was perfectly located near beaches and other attractions. We loved the outdoor space and the pool was amazing. The house nicely accommodated our two families with plenty of space. When we arrived it was evident the floors had not been cleaned and after communicating with Elisabeth, the cleaning person returned to take care of it. The overall cleanliness of the house needs some improvement and organization, but all in all a nice spot for a Cape getaway with friends.

Family vacation

By far the best Vrbo we have staid in. We used this house two years ago and couldnā€™t wait to return. The whole family from our 1 y.o. To the adults loved the pool. House very clean. Hot tub was great in the evening. Location is perfect. Can drive into Hyannis within minutes and walk to the beach. Will return

Elisabeth bought the home several years ago to enjoy with her own three young children and her extended family. She lives in the Boston area and uses the house all year round to have mini vacations and see friends in the area who are year-round residents. She rents it out for about half of the summer to offset expenses, and stays at the property herself regularly so as to stay on top of things and to ensure that everything is kept up to par for her renters, many of whom are longtime returning tenants who come back to enjoy the house every year.

The backyard is amazing with the new pool and patio! The Avenues are a special family friendly neighborhood. The community beach is a great kayak launch, a nice spot for a picnic and to examine the tide pools. They also have regular events including a weekly outdoor movie. You can drive to Craigville Beach and park free in a couple minutes, or take our beach cruiser bikes or even make a nice walk of it. Downtown Hyannis is five minutes away and has plenty of great restaurants and night life.

While our house was built in the 1930s, the entire living/dining/kitchen area had contemporary remodel including removing the attic and opening up the ceiling giving it a wonderfully open, bright and spacious feel atypical of many houses on the Cape. The kitchen and baths are beautifully updated and are a true pleasure to enjoy. The outdoor space is phenomenal and a true summer oasis with the pool, hot tub, fire pit, patio, yard and outdoor shower.
