HERE IT IS! That cozy cabin in the woods you’ve always dreamed about, come and enjoy the seclusion but only a short drive from town. Nestled at 3700’ elevation you can enjoy a great view of the mountains while you listen to the peaceful sounds of a nearby creek or sit on the covered front porch and watch the “smoke” roll in.
The 2 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin offers you all the comforts of home with lots of amenities. This two-story home gives you privacy with a bedroom and bath on each level with easy gravel access and plenty of parking for the family. 50" TV in Living Room, 32" TV in each bedroom. Sleeps 4
The FENCED-IN YARD AND GATED PORCH gives Fido the chance to roam and play. If you want to get away from it all, yet have it all, let us help make your vacation one you will not forget.
We’re located about seven minutes from the Blue Ridge parkway, 2 miles from Ghost Town and a short drive over to Cherokee. Come and enjoy the area!

Great home with a gorgeous view. Access was easy as it was paved until the last road, which was only a short remaining drive. Everything inside the home was clean and well kept. The kitchen was stocked adequately having everything we needed for prepping basic meals.Of course my favorite part was the front porch. I can sit out there all day and just admire the view while enjoying the sound of the creek.I would definitely stay here again.

The cabin needs updating. The decorations are so old and give the place sad vibes. Also, the upstairs is freezing even with the door open. Heat does not come thru the vent. Taking a shower up there is quite the experience. I'm a small person and I could barely turn around in it and then to get out of it to cold air? Not good

We had a great experience. the cabin was beautiful with the most amazing views. our host was terrific and very much on top of our desire to bring our cats along. she made sure that we could enjoy our stay and not have to worry about our cats, having to leave them somewhere. it was such an amazing trip. we even got married while we were there. went to the court house in Haywood county and then on to Miss Caroline's in Maggie Valley for our wedding.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed the cabin. We sat on the porch a lot and enjoyed the beautiful view, just never got tired of it. Although there were other cabins/houses in the vicinity we could not see them because of all the beautiful trees around. It was very private. The fenced-in area was really great too for our dog to her business. She could roam around the porch of the gate on the porch opposite the fenced in area. We meant to leave a great review in the guess book, but we forgot....we left early on our day of departure.

Reviewer Comments: Beautiful setting in the mountains with a lovely porch and awesome view. Log cabin living at its finest. Rough steep road to get to but ample parking. The cabin could use a good deep cleaning but otherwise very comfortable and outfitted with plenty of supplies. Unfortunately it hadn’t been cleaned upon our arrival but the cleaning service came immediately and did a super job to get us in asap.

A Hidden Gem nestled in the Serenity of the Smoky Mtns!

This property couldn't have been any more perfect for our stay! There was plenty of room for us three adults and accompanying pups and the fenced in side yard along with the gated porch made sending the four-leggers out an easy task. Speaking of the front porch it's the perfect place to watch the sun rise over the mountains and listen to Jonathan Creek running down the street below. Being very familiar with the Maggie Valley area I was excited that I could see the backside of the Soco Tower located off Soco Rd. One day when we were leaving out we came upon a small herd of Elk to which we drove by and videoed- you never know what you'll come across here! This was a fabulous cabin that, upon entering, is everything you expect a cabin to feel like. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms large as well. Plenty of working space in the kitchen too. If you're looking for a cabin that offers the convenience of a short distance to Maggie Valley but feels like it's deep in the foothills of Appalachia, then this is the cabin for you! Thank you for a great stay and a wonderful experience for our Thanksgiving trip!

Just let your hair down and stay awhile.

This is a very relaxing cabin. We stayed 5 days and saw elk 3 of those days on the property. The fenced in yard is quite small, but our dogs made due with it. The gravel road to the cabin is narrow and steep in places.

It is a wonderful place

I have been visiting Maggie valley since I was a child. This is the first time I have stayed in Maggie valley even though we visited almost every year when I was a kid. The experience was one that I and my family will remember forever!

Cozy + convenient mountain getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Smokey Hideaway. As other reviews mention, the kitchen is very well stocked (coffee maker, crockpot, variety of pots and pans). The living room is very comfortable, with a nice 50" smart TV anchoring the space. We enjoyed movie nights after busy days of hiking. Solid internet and wi-fi as well. The front porch offers spectacular views and 4 great rocking chairs, and the fenced in fire pit area is great. Overall, we found this to be a very comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. It's in a great location, within an easy drive of Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Waynesville, the parkway, Cherokee and more. As others have noted, it's got a great remote feel, but is easy to access. The road up to the house is a bit steep, but manageable by any kind of car in the Summer - would recommend AWD in winter just in case. This is a cozy, quiet and peaceful cabin that is perfect for a mountain getaway.
