Beachfront Penthouse at Sanibel Harbor

This condo is the penthouse in the Bay View Tower on the grounds of Sanibel Harbor. There are two master bedrooms, two additional bedrooms, can sleep up to 10 people. The condo has access to the ocean, a pool, hot tub, tennis courts, spa, and 3 restaurants/bars without having to leave the grounds! The location is also a short drive to Sanibel and Captiva Island as well as Fort Myers Beach. The Bay View Tower that the condo is located in is right next to Sanibel resort, which you can rent boats, jet skis, paddle boards, and kayaks through. This location is perfect for people who are interested in a nice vacation with adults or families looking to have everything in one place. The condo also has a full kitchen, media room, ocean views, and two decks to relax on! There are three excellent restaurants on the grounds, but the location is also only a short drive from award winning restaurants. The location is only minutes away from Sanibel and Captiva Island, and a short trip to Fort Myers Beach.

Although there were a few issues, the hosts were incredibly responsive and attentive. The location is perfect, views spectacular, and condo so accommodating!

Perfect overall!

This house has absolutely everything! We came for the week with the entire family and thoroughly enjoyed the apartment! It is well stocked, the rooms are spacious and well distributed. We loved it! If you have a big family and want to enjoy a little fun in the sun, look no further. It was fabulous!

Amazing penthouse

We are 4 couples and this was the perfect accommodation. The view was amazing in every direction and so peaceful. The kitchen was large and well stocked. Each of the four couples had their own comfortable private bedroom and bath and the common area was large and well appointed. Our hosts were super responsive and accommodating. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the area!

Family Christmas Vacation

Condo was very nice. Had a few hiccups but owner was very fast in reaching out. Elevator did not work on check in so had to walk up 12 flight of stairs but maintenance got it working very soon. Very nice size for a family. We had nine with us had plenty of room. Would stay here again.

Total Disaster

Upon entering the condominium, we immediately noticed severe cracks in one of the large panoramic windows in the main area. Further observations revealed that the power shades covering the panoramic windows did not function properly preventing certain power curtains from opening or closing. Not all the under-counter kitchen lights worked. The refrigerator ice maker did not make ice. The dishwasher leaked. The Keurig coffee maker was full of mold and had to be thoroughly washed. The clothes dryer was not functioning properly. Technician reported that the vent had collapsed inside the wall and was not venting to the outside. Issues with all 4 bedrooms, one had a slow leak in the faucet, another bedroom had a broken drawstring in the window shades, the third bedroom pillows covered in mold. All bathrooms: the bath towels and bathroom throw mats were old and needed to be replaced. The two vacuum cleaners that were left in the closet did not work. Even though we were told that the condominium pool and jacuzzi would be completed by the time we arrived, construction was not expected to be completed for at least another month. One of the two elevators in the building, one was shut down for our entire stay. The elevator service was extremely slow. The private roof top deck was destroyed during the storm and not available. If not for adjacent Marriott property allowing us to use their pool, (which came at an additional price), we would not have made do with the situation.

Beautiful Oceanfront

The property looks as beautiful as the photos. There are 3 en-suite bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor ( 2 Kings one Queen) and one more king en-suite upstairs. There is also a covered patio overlooking the water. It has a bonus TV room on the first floor. The owner was great and very attentive and responsive. Regina and his cleaning crew were great as well as the property manager Louis! Would highly recommend this property!

Spacious waterfront condo

My family stayed here over Christmas and we enjoyed the condo and surrounding area. The property is setup nicely for family stays and entertaining. We appreciated the smooth self check in and the interior of the property was immaculately clean.

Wow what a view! Great Penthouse.

The Penthouse was a great setup for our family. Plenty of room for everyone and the view was just awesome. We spent lot's of time at the Marriott pool next door and the amenities and service at the Marriott were excellent. We may book this Penthouse again and what a great location for a family event.

A concerning, disappointing stay

Although we enjoyed our stay and the amenities of the Marriott property, we had many concerns with the condo and were very disappointed with the inability to use the entire premises. Of the four bedrooms, one had a note on it that said not to use the room. We were not aware of this until we got there. Fortunately there were only two couples and a teenager. There was a fan on in that bedroom going the entire weekend and what looked to be a large water stain on the carpet. There was also some kind of fan on in the media room that vented out to the front patio area. Again, we were not made aware of these issues and that made two more rooms not able to be used. I don't think anyone wants to sit on patio furniture with a fan venting from another room that blows on them. When renting a property, it is understandable for some things to be broken. For instance, the sink in the master bedroom downstairs was broken and you were not able to fill the sink. The ice maker in the kitchen had a note on it that said it didn't work. Three rooms that aren't available and windows that were not able to be opened,....those things are concerning. I believe when you are on vacation, you should be able to relax. Your stay should be exceptional. You should not be calling people to get rooms working. It was not relaxing or exceptional. No one checked in to see how things were going. No one followed up afterward. Fortunately, the weather was beautiful, the food in the area was delicious, and the Marriott property was wonderful. But our stay at this property was not a happy one.

Beautiful spacious condo- needs some maintenance

The property was beautiful and the condo was spacious with beautiful views. The pictures on line are very accurate. We stayed with another family and the 8 of us (all adults) had more than enough room. We enjoyed the views and the front and back patios. The condo was well stacked with sheets, towels, pillows, and pretty much anything you need for the week. However, the condo is in need of some maintenance/repairs. The biggest issue was that the air conditioning in the main part of the condo (kitchen/family room) was not working. We could never get the temp in that are below 76 degrees, even when closing all the blinds to keep the sun out. This unfortunately also made the bedroom closest to the kitchen uncomfortably warm for sleeping. We did tell the owner and he suggested we use the portable a/c that was kept in the closet. The space is way too large for a portable air conditioner and the unit needed to be vented outside - meaning a door had to be kept open to use it! This was a very big issue for us. There were a few other things as well- such as the refrigerator door makes a loud noise whenever it was opened (like a spring in the door was busted), the ice machine in the wet bar was not working and there were a few other minor things. (We did no report them during our stay). Overall we enjoyed our stay but with the air conditioning not working we were uncomfortably warm most days.

Endless Views

The views from the unit are breath taking and the location could not be better. Easy access to grocery store and shops while still being able to get on and off the island is perfect. We visited 4 beaches while on our stay and the one at the condo was best. Highly recommend this unit

Fantastic experience

This property was exactly as advertised and more. We could not have been more pleased with the unit, the location , the fabulous pool, the sandy beach etc. We had 6 adults and 4 children and there was room to spare. It is the first place we have stayed where you weren’t worried about a crowded beach , pool ,not enough chairs etc. The huge fabulous kitchen allowed us to eat breakfast lunch in the condo ( so much easier with littles) and we took advantage of the restaurants at night. The owner was amazing , we had zero issues with anything in the condo but I knew I could call Ron at any time and he would answer immediately. Our granddaughters loved the pull out couch in the media room , they chose it over a bedroom , but the mattress wouldn’t be comfortable for an adult. It wasn’t an issue for us but that would be my only suggestion for change. It was a spectacular week , everything we hoped for.

Spacious Retreat

My sisters and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely penthouse to the point that even our favorite Florida activity — walking on the beach — took a back seat. Whether working together in the kitchen, relaxing on one of the two inviting outdoor decks, watching the boat traffic and wildlife from the floor-to-ceiling windows, gathering in the open living/dining area, or pursuing solitary interests, we found all that we needed and all the space we could use. Anything we could think we might need, the owners had already provided. We would be delighted to return to this condominium and highly recommend it to all travelers who wish to explore the Fort Myers area from a comfortable, spacious home base. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the entire apartment; I'm hard to please on that score! Anyone able to tear himself away from Bayview Tower 1231 and looking for an excellent breakfast should consider First Watch, a chain with several restaurants in the area.

Holiday Stay

Some issues with checking in related to locks and fire alarms but overall stay was great. Property is beautiful and everything we needed to enjoy our stay was available. Comfortable space and plenty of room for everyone to enjoy! Beautiful views.

A Family Celebration

Our family loved the stay at the beachfront penthouse. Luckily we also had beautiful weather, which added to our enjoyment of the pool, beach, ocean and surrounding grounds. The penthouse is quite large and we enjoyed every inch, especially the outdoor deck area with the beautiful view of the water. We were able to take advantage of the restaurants at the adjoining resort as well as some local spots, too. We would be happy to bring our family back another time.

Family getaway

Really enjoyed this property, very spacious, lovely rooftop patio. Enjoyed the pool and whirlpool in common area. Walking distance to several restaurants. Beautiful, unforgettable views of the water out the back but also from the front patio/entrance area.
