Lovely Stay

Our Stay at the Villa was great, the host was extremely helpful, and we enjoyed everything the house and ocatiom had to offer.

Great location

The house and property were beautiful, exactly as portrayed on the listing. The beach was less than a mile away with great restaurants and bars, right there.

Excellent, quiet paradise both near and far from everything

Great property, owner, and on island POC. We loved the porch with views of the deep blue sea, short drive to awesome beaches and restaurants, and the clean, spacious property that worked well for our family of five.

Great house! Less than ideal host experience.The house and property exceeded our expectations! The property was very well upkept and the house was well furnished and clean. We loved having fresh starfruit! The location was excellent. I would love to give this property 5 stars but we had less than ideal experiences picking up and dropping off the keys to the property. We notified the host our arrival time to coordinate meeting them at the airport to pickup the keys. After getting our car and luggage we were told that the host wasnt able to bring the keys and we would need to meet them at Kmart. Our check out instructions were to leave the keys in a lockbox at the gate. The lock box didnt work so we were informed by our host that we would need to meet them back at Kmart to give them the keys.

Great cottage on the hill!

House was great size for a family or a few friends. Walkable (steep hill) to Rowdy Joe's but otherwise a car is needed to get to restaurants, shopping and attractions. Very close to beautiful Cane Bay Beach and not far from the main towns. Everything was in good working order

Just as described!

Cut, clean home and perfect for our family vacation! The owner and on island property managers were all super responsive and kept in touch with us to make sure everything was going well. Beautiful front porch with views of the ocean…would definitely stay here again!

Clean and comfortable with a great porch

This is a well-stocked house (linens, toiletries, kitchen) with a very nice porch for sitting and looking out at the lovely grounds. Small view of the ocean, and nice and quiet. The rooms were comfortable. Note that you will be met by the caretaker at the airport (or at nearby location— we know St Croix so we met elsewhere), who will give you the house keys and gate opener. If you have 2 cars doing separate things, then ask for another gate opener. Caretaker Nicolas was very responsive and friendly.

Our Favorite Stay on St. Croix

We've stayed near Cane Bay 3 times now and this was our favorite property and best experience so far. The house is private, gated, and just 2 minutes from Cane Bay and the local bars and restaurants. We had coffee and breakfast every morning on the front porch with a clear view of St. Thomas and St. John in the background. The house is equipped with a full kitchen, laundry room, games, plenty of towels and beach equipment. Communication with Nicholas and his son Te-Khai was excellent. Nicholas went out of his way to fetch us fresh coconuts and provide coconut water for my pregnant wife. Needless to say, they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. We will gladly stay here again on our next visit to St. Croix.

Nice but needs a few updates

We stayed at this location over Spring Break and were looking forward to the space the house has. I'll start with the positives. Great amazing view from the porch, nice breeze in the morning and evenings, the privacy this house provides also keeps it very quite (except for the dogs and rooster across the valley). It's a short drive/walk to Cane Bay beach, Rowdy Joe's, Eat, and Off the Wall. The beds were extremely comfortable and the AC worked great! The house had some basic household items (ie: ziploc and trash bags, soap, shampoo, detergent to name a few) which is nice to not have to go out and purchase for a one week stay. The gated yard made it feel very safe and secure. Washer and dryer worked great which is unusual for a beach house however much appreciated. Now for the negatives...there were 7 wasp nests on the porch when we arrived with some cans of wasp spray. Not sure why the local care taker would not attend to that before we arrive? The kitchen is very small and hard to cook in with zero counter space, the kitchen cookware could use some updating as all the pans are very old and the stove had only one out of the five burners working. My son found someone's old vape in the couch which just says they don't clean very well. This is a three bedroom (master king, #2 queen #3 twin), however you have to walk through bedroom #3 to get to the master. Not the end of the world just hard for privacy. The biggest and most concerning issue was WE RAN OUT OF WATER! The cistern ran dry and the owner tried to say it was because we showered too long. I have family on this island and if someone had checked the cistern prior to our arrival they would have seen the water was low and had some delivered. When we did call, they did nothing to assist getting any water until the following day. We couldn't flush the toilets for 24hrs. We did have some bottled water previously on hand so we had that for drinking and we were able to go to my family's house to shower. The onsite care taker should have brought us water at a minimum. I realize this is a home on an island and things happen, however running out of water is NOT something that anyone would expect when renting a home. I look forward to hearing from someone regarding these issues and the resolution. I would still recommend this house as these are all issues the owners can easily address for future renters to enjoy!

Matt, we're glad you enjoyed the beautiful views from this home! This time of year wasps are heavily present in the area. The homeowner has instructed the maintenance and cleaning crew to spray and remove them, but unfortunately, they rebuild quickly. We're sorry they were unable to eradicate them before your arrival. This home is a quintessential vintage 1969 St. Croix home and the kitchen also reflects this historic charm. However, we're sorry you didn't find it adequate for your needs. Although all the burners on the stove do work, the owners are aware that there is a mechanism that stops working intermittently. They will provide information for a solution for future guests if they encounter the same scenario. The owners had checked the cisterns shortly before your arrival and thought there was enough water supply. Since St. Croix has been in a recent drought, they apologize that they were mistaken. They are taking the necessary steps to ensure that this situation does not recur for future guests. However, they went to very generous measures to make things right due to the inconvenience. The owners use a trusted housekeeping staff and are sorry to hear you felt the cleanliness was subpar. They are continuously working with the cleaning staff to ensure guest satisfaction. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your review and giving us the means to improve. We hope to host you again soon for a five-star experience this home strives to provide! The home was beautiful, and only 3 minute drive to a lovely beach. However, if you dont want to cook at the house, or simply go anywhere, you will need to be comfy with driving on the opposite side of the road. The taxis will not.come to the area, the one said he was coming, I waited for nearly an hour, and nothing. When I called back, he cursed me out and hung up. Nick was the highlight of the trip, he looked out for us since customer services there is very bad. Yhe house is lovely, and secluded which what we wanted. The only restaurant in walking distance, is only open during the weekends. If you can get to the beach, there are a few good places with food. The weather was perfect, but be ready for the misquotes! The owners had sun tan loction, chairs, and everything else you may need. You will need to make arrangements to meet Nick to check in/out. A lockbox would be nice, just a suggestion. It was the perfect amount of space for our group.

Beautiful Property

House was perfect for us, 3 bedrooms, beautiful views, fresh mango smoothies every morning made from mango tree in front of the house. The host Nicholas made our stay. He was very helpful with information on where to eat and go, very responsive met us at the airport to drop and pick up keys. AC went out he arranged to have it replaced. He is a true asset to this property.

Just what we needed

My mother and I went to begin work on the house that she wants to sell. It was emotional and difficult, so they secluded home on the hilltop with a beautiful view of the North Shore, was just lovely. Thanks for everything. Althea was excellent.

Hot water

We had daily issues with hot water for showers in the small bathroom. There were 3 of us using it and only one had hot water. The other 2 had cool showers
