We am sorry about the Sargassum Grass, that one is out of our control and it happens when the tides are just right and carries it to the shores of the Virgin Islands and it's very unpredictable, it just shows up. Robin and her family were true jewels to host. If there were more than 5 stars that could be given to a particular guest, she would get all of them. She left our island home clean, well cared for and went above and beyond and we can't thank her enough. We hope they hurry back to St. Croix, Turtles Rest is waiting for them. Susan and Bob Rowland

This guest left us a bad review which we fully expected as he threaten to contact the attorneys at University of California Berkeley if we did not give him a refund. We have also learned he threatened other owners in our complex for the same issues demanding refunds. We have contacted UC Berkeley and sent pictures regarding the following issues to let them know the damage that their representative and students caused to our home. Yes there were water issues island wide caused by WAPA our utility company on STX and also a pump failure at the condo complex for a few separate days while these guests were there. The pump was ordered as soon as it was discovered to be a problem, but it's an island and not easy to replace parts immediately. Power and water outages are not unheard of in St. Croix, it's an island and it just happens. Every guest is advised to NOT drink tap water, we even have signs in the condo telling them not to. We left a total of 5 three and five gallon full water bottles for them. These water bottles are refillable all over the island at several places which this guest was aware of as he has been to the island before (including staying in our unit last year with no issues regarding pricing or our unit being less than expected). We NEVER told them to bath in the pool as stated in this review, on the contrary, he told us that they had. The water running down the walls was not a leak, apparently they ran the AC units at very low temperatures (as evidenced by the high electric bill we just received) and they froze up causing water to run down the walls, ruin our wicker desk and cause damage in the lower bedroom. We also just received a huge water bill for fresh water used during their stay, even with the water issues they experienced for just a few days during their stay. The leaking issues were a problem they caused not one due to our negligence as owners. If there were additional leaks we are unaware of the problem as he refused access to our repair people to inspect the unit and we never caused any occupants to leave our unit. Again we spent 5 weeks immediately before theses guests and there were no leaks or any other repair issues with our condo. They broke the shelf in the door of the refrigerator, as well as other things in the kitchen, ruined 2 sets of pots and pans, ruined all the bathroom and kitchen rugs, left the place filthy costing us triple the cleaning fees in order to get our unit to the same condition it was when they rented it. They even broke the towel bar in the bathroom, put bottle caps in the upstairs shower drain causing it to clog, plugged up the toilets even though they were never not functioning as they use salt water and it's on a separate water system. The additional $500 we received for damages does not begin to cover the damages incurred. This was all fully documented to VRBO as well as copies of emails/texts we received before the guest checked out or wrote the bad review. We told VRBO this guest was going to be a problem and documented our concerns with pictures prior to his checking out all of which are available to anyone who inquires. As far as the price goes we have not increase our price from his last visit in 2022. This is a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo, over 1500+ SF, fully air conditioned, no additional charge for WIFI, top of the line bedding and furnishings. Look at the other 5 star reviews on our unit and you will see it's a wonderful place to vacation but this group will never be allowed back again as they are very irresponsible and caused far to many problems to be allowed back in our island home. VRBO is aware of the issues cause by this guest.

it was such a joy to host this family and we could not have asked for better guests and we were thrilled they enjoyed our condo and felt it was like home. We have tried to put ever creature comfort we could think of in our condo, from top of the line sheets and linens, snorkeling equipment for all to use, a kitchen that has everything from an Instant Pot, waffle iron, an indoor smokless grill and a popcorn maker. We so hope they hurry back to our wonderfuld condo we loving call Turtles Rest and make more family memories on the wonderful island of St. Croix. Susan and Bob Rowland

Laurie andher family were a joy to have and we can't thank them enough for choosing our condo for their family vacation. We would host her and her guests again and again. Matt and his guests were wonderful and a joy to host. His communication with us was amazing and he left our island home in perfect condition, going above and beyond to make sure it was well cared for. He even filled the 2 3 gallon water cooler bottles before leaving. We would give him a 10 star review if we could. We so hope they come back to visit Turtles Rest very soon.
