Its right off highway 101, room for two cars in the driveway and street parking next to home. Wide open out back, the top and bottom are separate living areas with the bottom only having a half bath in it. We spent most the time upstairs, small kitchen, good for a small family get togther.

I wasn’t gonna post anything because the people were very kind at this house, but we did get there with no hot water and it took a full day to get that taken care of so we had no showers which meant we couldn’t use the hot tub. The downstairs area smelled badly of water and it worried me that there might’ve been mold there before. The most difficult part was having to go up or down the stairs required you to go outside to do it. Other than that, the view is spectacular the people who own the home are nice and I’m sure that they took the situation seriously after I talk to them.

No access to up stairs from lower level except to go outside. Driveway is super steep! I mean SUPER steep!! Lower level smells bad. View was awesome and location and price were great

I'm sorry the separate access between levels was inconvenient — we do describe this on the listing but will do better to clarify that for future guests. We will also add a note about the driveway's grade. I’m also very sorry about the odor on the lower level; housekeeping has since deep cleaned the space and will continue to monitor it closely. The house was clean, but desperately needs some cosmetic touch ups. The bottom level smelled like mildew. The couch cushions kept sliding off when we sat on it. The TV downstairs didn’t work because the Direct TV bill hadn’t been paid and the Samsung TV plus remote wouldn’t work. There was a DVD player, but that wasn’t plugged in either. The Roku TV remote upstairs is falling apart (the battery cover won’t stay on), and the coffee machine basket kept falling out, too. The worst part, though was that there was no hot water. Not sure if that was a fluke and the water heater had just gone out while we were there or if this is a recurring problem they have. It was frustrating to come back from a cold day on the beach and not be able to take a hot shower. The hot tub and views are nice.

It was great to view whales from our front window. However, there was visible water damage and mold in the main floor bathrooms. The downstairs had such an odor that we felt it was unsafe for our asthmatic grandchildren to stay there. Fortunately, they were happy to stay with their cousins nearby. Apparently, someone checked it and said there was no odor, but we felt otherwise. It was conveniently located, but the one bedroom had the constant roar of traffic.

I'm very sorry about the strong odor you noticed downstairs; we take air-quality and guest health concerns seriously. Our team will arrange a professional inspection and any necessary remediation. They did inspect for mold already and did not locate any. All the same, they plan to deep clean the bathrooms anyway in case any spore was missed. We stayed here a couple years ago and loved it. It has since gone significantly down hill. Despite heavy use no furniture has been replaced the couch is sad dirty and warm. Minor inconveniences considering we were without hot water for most of our stay. On the morning of our first day we noticed no hot water someone came out and restarted it (something we could have easily downe ourselves it it wasn't locked) then someone from the gas company came by and replaced the gas meter from what I understood it was an elevated heater so this shouldn't have happened but omeone had to come out again that night and restart the water heater we had hot water for approximately 10 hours over night and when the next we went to use it it was out again. The people managing the property communicated well but refused to discuss any sort of compensation for being with out water for almost the entire stay. Until my stay was over. We did not get. Shower before we left because once again no hot water. The hot tub was nice but also showing wear. They boast a big bathtub with no plug or hot water. Avoid if your looking for basic necessities and a stress free vacation.

Hot tub was filthy, cable never worked on upstairs tv. Downstairs smells musty and gross, mold in the upstairs shower ceiling. Broken furniture and ran down. Lots of noise from traffic.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry your stay did not meet expectations. We will review the photos from the hot tub clean before your arrival and correct anything we found lacking in the technician's report. To be safe, we have also completed a deep clean on the tub since your stay to ensure it's in great shape. Our maintenance team was able to resolve all of the TV/cable issues and they are now working as they should. The housekeeping team will inspect the upstairs shower. If it is mold staining, instead of active mold, we'll have the maintenance team schedule a painting of that area with Kilz. Should they find active mold, they will first kill it before applying Kilz. They did inspect for a smell in the downstairs area several times after your stay and have not yet detected one. They will continue to keep a close eye on this. We will have our maintenance team do a full inspection for any furniture with damaged pieces and plan to repair or replace them as necessary. Thank you so much for your helpful feedback, we will use it to improve.

The listing photos were far more attractive than the actual home. Road noise was extremely loud and woke us up very early every morning. Another undisclosed issue was that the downstairs room could only be accessed from outside (no interior access), which was particularly inconvenient while traveling with kids. That said, the view itself was beautiful.

The house had most the things we needed. The hot tub was nice. The location was great, being able to walk downtown is awesome. The house could use some basic maintenance such as paint and door knobs that don’t fall off when you turn them.

This Depoe Bay gem is where it's at! Views, location, comfort, hot tub. It has it all! Do not look elsewhere if you're looking to stay in Depoe Bay. Right across the street from one of the best coastal restaurants and walking distance to the main strip for shopping and sight seeing. Could not have asked for more. Great spot, highly recommend!!
