A beautiful Craftsman Ocean View home in a seaport village with hardwood floors, three large decks, river rock fireplace , hot tub for six, outdoor furniture for dining or relaxing, near ocean access, fully equipped kitchen with convection oven, large refrigerator and freezer, bedrooms have European style comforters, near places to hike and bike; great places to eat and shop with outlet malls nearby yet away from the hustle and bustle. You can always see whales in the bay during the whale watching season, and often can see them right from our decks. From the kitchen and living room windows you can watch the amazing spouting horn that sometimes goes as high as 40-50 feet in the winter time.

We had such a fun stay and the home was a great location for the king tides. We were able to check in early and check out late. Home had everything and more, we will definitely rent this home again.

A month in "almost" paradise

Great location! Close to both Lincoln City and Newport. Close to the best beaches on the Oregon coast. Nice short walk to "the rocks" with a great trail along the top. We spotted both Grey Whales and we think an Orca pod. Pirates cove had newborn harbor seals with their mums sunning on the rocks! Nice walk to the city also and we really enjoyed The Horn brewery! Great seafood cooked right!

Lovely!

We spent Thanksgiving at this property and enjoyed it very much! All the other reviews will tell you pretty much everything you need to know. I will add: The ocean views are even better than I expected from the pictures; you can even glimpse the sunrise over the harbor through the kitchen window. The separation of public spaces is fantastic for families with older kids and the entire house is quite sound proof. The neighborhood has a few access points to the bluffs (including one right across the street), which made for very nice daily walks. Both the owner, Ray, and the manager/next door neighbor, Fred, were lovely to work with and very communicative/responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

High quality. Excellent value.

Beautiful home with new, high-quality Mission-style decor and furnishings. Warm and inviting. Comfortable beds with luxurious embroidered linens. The 4 adults loved relaxing in front of the gas fireplace on the plush sofas, listening to Ray's Beatles records. The 5 teenagers loved playing billiards and watching sports on the big screen TV on the lower level, as well as sitting in the hot tub or enjoying the outdoor firepit just out the back door on the lower level. This home is located in a quiet neighborhood across the street from the Inn at Arch Rock. The home is a 10 minute level walk from downtown Depoe Bay. The great room and kitchen have views of the rocky shore of Depoe Bay, especially from the kitchen window. We fought over who got to do the dishes. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen had an abundance of high-quality matching dishes, glasses and silverware. Despite being pet-friendly this home looked and smelled clean. It was a beautiful sunny weekend and we really enjoyed watching the ocean from the new Adirondack chairs on the upper-level south deck. This spacious home has good sound-proofing: the kids had noisy fun and the adults could still carry on a conversation! The home is designed with three levels: upper level with great room, well-equipped kitchen, master BR and bath; middle level with the front door, two Queen BR's, bunk bedroom, bathroom, additional bathroom/laundry room; then lower level with game/tv room, twin beds, and backdoor to hottub/firepit. Perhaps too many stairs for families with tiny children or frail elders. We appreciated the very reasonable rent and cleaning fees. Owner Ray and next door neighbors/caretakers Fred and Andy were exceptionally easy to work with. Highly recommended. We plan to return in the future and recommend to friends. Things to do: We were thrilled to see whales up close on a whale watching eco-excursion out of Depoe Bay. September is the best month for this activity. We enjoyed walking with our dog up Sunset Street, then continuing west along the path and out to the rocky shore where there are benches to enjoy a sunset. We brought kites with us and had a great day at Fogarty Beach, which is 1.7 miles north of Depoe Bay. Follow the sign for North Fogarty Creek Park, then walk under the highway from the parking lot to the beach.

Alison, I am so happy you had such a great time. It's really fun being there anytime of the year, sunny or stormy. Sometimes you can see the whales spouting from the front deck. I agree, even doing the dishes is fun with the view. Yes, stairs can be an issue for those who are frail. Wish we had some type of lift, but not enough room. Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful time staying in depot bay. The house was very clean and included everything we needed. The owner is very friendly and accommodating! We would love to vacation here again.

Best Family Adventures

Our family had a great stay! My main concern was for my disabled father with neuropathies in both feet and whether he could manage all the stairs in the home (leading up to the front door and home is tri-level). He was able to climb up and down the stairs with lots of rest in between. There is 1 walk-in shower that he used. The queen beds were a little high for him to climb up and onto, so he ended up on the twin bed downstairs on the 2nd night. Otherwise, we all enjoyed our trip! From playing pool with the kids... to jacuzzi time... the perfect whale watching view off the balcony... and the short walk to the cliff to check out the whales even closer. My young kids had a lot of fun climbing the rocks. Beautiful beaches were nearby. We frequented Gleneden beach. Didn't make it into town, as our main objective was BEACH TIME! The home was great! Ray was easy to communicate with and checked in with us mid-stay. Fred, the neighbor that takes care of the hot tub, was friendly as well and kept an eye out for us. We loved our stay.

A great place to meet

Our family from Washington and Oregon met here for a long weekend. The view allowed us to watch whales from the deck the whole time. We ventured to two nearby beaches during our stay, and the weather was beautiful. The stairs were a challenge for a couple of us since the kitchen, dining area and master bedroom are upstairs (on the 3rd floor) and the rest of the bedrooms are downstairs. The dogs appreciated all of the nearby viewpoints which meant lots of walks and adventures. We put together a puzzle, the kids played games, we ate lots of great food and celebrated my nephews birthday. A great end of summer get-away!

Depoe bay beach house

Ray, the owner was wonderful, welcoming and very responsive to communications. The property has a beautiful view of Depoe bay. We sat on the balcony every morning and evening listening to ocean sounds and enjoying the weather. The home easily accommodated our family of 4 (two adults and two older teens) and our two dogs. We felt very much at home and appreciated the cozy feel. The showers were great with excellent water pressure even if multiple people were using different showers simultaneously. The main sitting room is a lovely space for visiting. The hot tub was fun and the property is well maintained. Neighbor Fred, property manager, was super helpful and friendly. The location is fantastic with great walking paths and easy access to the rocky shore- fun to explore at low tide. Appreciated the new washer and dryer. The house was well equipped, in the kitchen, bathrooms, linens, etc. It was a great stay.

Great location for temporary remote work, very good get away.

With three working professionals on video calls the internet remained reliable. Hot tub was in working order and very nice on clear nights. The sliding glass doors up stairs had some leak problems during a major windstorm but property manager was quick to respond and put in good temporary fixes. This area is beautiful with several larger parks in driving distance like Boiler Bay and Foggerty creek. A rocky cliff look out up two blocks from the house also that has few winter travelers and was easy to keep distance while whale and seal watching (unlike the larger state parks like devils punchbowl where we would not dare get out of the car there were so many people). There are several local grocery and restaurants doing curbside pickup, perfect for a getaway or temporary housing if relocating to the area. Over all it was a good stay. If you are staying in the top floor bedroom, do bring a sleep mask if light bothers you, the skylight frames the full moon and that takes some getting used.

Perfect Beach House for a Weekend Away with Friends

Ray has a great house. It is the perfect getaway for a long weekend with friends; we went down for the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival. The house has everything you need - comfortable beds, games, pool table, kitchen with everything you need to cook, etc. One downfall is the hot tub did not work, and we were all looking forward to that. Other than that, we had a great time, and it is in walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Cozy home away from home!

This rental was for a planning retreat, so we were indoors for a couple days planning. This is our fifth year renting a place for our planning retreat, and this rental was by far the best. My favorite place was the second floor. It had an open floor concept connecting kitchen and living room. In the living room there is a grand fireplace. I could have stayed curled up on a chair by the fire for several more days.The beds were very comfy and you get to listen to the sounds of waves at night! There is a nice hot tub to ease your muscles before bed. We also were very pleased with the attentive manager who lives close by. He recommended we eat at Gracie's Sea Hag in Depoe Bay. Amazing food!

Beautiful Home Has It All

Lovely home with a perfect location in Depoe Bay. Nice views of the ocean. Plenty of room with lots of sleeping options for a large group. Lots to do with TVs, pool table, games, hot tub. Also, many grocery items/spices available--nicely stocked. Site manager was very helpful. We had a great time.

Wedding anniversary

All of us children and families celebrated my parent's 65th wedding anniversary last weekend in this beautiful home. My parents had lived in Depoe Bay many years ago, so it was a very meaningful place for memories. This house was the perfect gathering place for a family event, with great views of the ocean and Depoe Bay. Working with the owner, and caregiver was a good experience. Highly recommended.

Harbor-view home!

My daughter, son-in-law and I were so delighted with the house, the amenities and the view! A grand-son and his wife, joined us for the week-end and were as pleased as the rest of the family. The living-room, with the large stone fireplace, made a cozy area for fun and games. The kitchen was modern and convenient and there was a view of the harbor from there. Also a view of downtown Depoe Bay! We were within walking distance of an upscale restaurant and some even walked to the shops. We would return! Ruth Bosserman

great weekend!

Everything went smoothly. The house was perfect for our group. The house wouldn't work for anyone with mobility issues as there are lots of stairs. The place is fully stocked and well maintained. Despite being warned several times about the delicate plumbing and being super careful we did have s clog once. There should be a plunger at the house. We would totally stay there again.

Beautiful Oregon Coastal Home

Everything about our stay was wonderful!!! The property and beautiful home are conveniently located to ocean side strolls as well as the charming town of Depoe Bay. The views from the house are amazing where you can watch the waves crashing on rocks as well as sea gulls, sea otters and other wild life. Whales can be seen off the coast. There is a beach for sand castles, wading and sunning just a mere mile or two up the road as well as numerous hikes of varying difficulty. Truly an Oregon coast destination and experience. The home is beautifully and comfortably furnished. A gourmet kitchen, wonderful great room with fireplace and view decks make the family dining and relaxing experience memorable. The bedrooms, baths and hot tub complete it. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and restful property with us. We will return for sure!

Great location

We had a wonderful time at this rental. The property was very comfortable. We had everything we needed for our group of 9. Only problem was how hard the sliding doors were to open. It was hard to get out onto the decks.

Great times!

Our time spent at Ray's home in February was fabulous. Everything worked, there were plenty of towels and linens, games, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. Ray was wonderful to work with as were the managers. We were a little concerned to start with that since the managers were right next door that they may make us feel a bit uncomfortable but it didn't at all. They checked us in and checked us out and that is all we saw of them. The beds in the 4 main rooms are great. The 2 day beds in the basement are not comfortable at all but other than that, I can't think of anything else that would need to be changed.

It is a quiet and retreat like setting yet close to shopping, restaurants and many great outdoor activities. Devils Lake in Lincoln City nearby provides boating, water skiing, sailing and daytime picnic opportunities. Depoe Bay is the whale.
