Great beach vacation!

We've stayed in lots of houses in the Outer Banks, but Duck Sundowner was definitely top five. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen space was perfect for lots of moving parts during meals. THe private pool and hot tub were great for our crowd and, since there was no community pool and lots of double red flag days, very necessary. It's in a great location and, as my father said, "The pool hall sharks really got into the pool table." The small downsides were that, when walking or biking into Duck, the neighborhood's entrance hill can be a killer (better and easier in the dark) and the house did have some roaches around, so we had to be careful about our food. Thanks Jeff!

Great house, great location, great stay!

This Duck house was perfect for our family of 10, with grandchildren from 4-16, there was something for everyone. The home is spacious, well-supplied and located a short walk to the beach access at the end of the street. The house was clean, beds all comfy and the pool was enjoyed by all. The beach cart was a great addition! Owner Jeff was great to work with . A five star stay all around!

Family of grandparents, kids & grandkids for family reunion/beach vacay - ALL had a great time. We stayed at this beach house before and everyone wanted to come back this year. It's so clean and beautiful. Something for everyone. Great access to beach & town, plus a pool when the ocean was too much. Thank you!!

Perfect for large families!

What a week! We had three generations stay at the house and had a blast. We had enough room to spread out and the common area was perfect for meals and games. The pool is great for young kids and the house is an easy walk to the beach and waterfront shops. All in all, I highly recommend the property.

Wonderful week

We stayed at this property the week of July 20-27. My husband and I, our two daughters and their families. The house was spotless. It is a beautiful, well appointed home. The online pictures do not do it justice. Very close to the beach and a short walk into Duck. The perfect location. I especially liked the breakdown of area. Our grandsons hung out on the bottom floor. Our granddaughters used the sitting area on the second floor, and we adults tended to stay on the top floor and expansive upper deck. Wonderful home. We would not hesitate to return here in the future.

Excellent Beach House

This beach house easily accommodates 12 people. Complete with everything you will need for a great vacation spot. Host is quick to respond to questions. The home is clean and well cared for. Teenagers loved pool, beach and hot tub. Three levels is ideal so teenagers can be on first floor level and adults on top level. Deck is great. Kitchen large with big island. Best part for me was walking to the beautiful beach.

June 8 - 15, 2023

Duck Sundowner was the perfect place to stay in Duck for our two families. The house and property are is as pictured. We all loved staying there. The walk to the beach only took a few minutes. Shops in town are a quick drive, but would be no problem if you chose to stroll down to the Duck Boardwalk on foot. I would've re-book this house again without hesitation if we did not have other plans for next year.

Family vacation

This is the first time that I was able to get the entire family together and we could not have rented a better house. It was so convenient to the beach with the kids and they loved the pool. Jeff was great to work with and when we had a concern with the ac he promptly got someone to fix the issue. We’re looking forward to making this a yearly vacation.

We loved Duck Sundowner!

Thank you for making your home available, Jeff! This was one of the nicest properties we've used for our family reunion/vacation at OBX. It is a beautifully decorated house, set up nicely for a large family gathering. The distance to the beach was just a few houses away, but still close enough to enjoy a beautiful sunrise. The pool was essential to our young ones. There was ample space to either play separately or to sit for a meal together. We plan to return one day soon!

Bang for your Buck

The location was perfect! Walking distance to shopping and the beach access. The flow of the house was great too! My only complaint were the palmetto bugs! This is the first time in 13 years I have ever seen these things in the house. We watched Joe's Apartment and we got over our fears lol.

Great getaway with great location

We came for a family vacation. The weather was perfect and location of the property was awesome. We could walk a little over 1/2 mile and be in the center of town. And the beach was so close! The house was really nice. Only downfall was the two bedrooms on the mid level over the car port were very warm, despite ceiling fans, air conditioning, and closing the blinds. But it was manageable. And Jeff was friendly and responded quickly to any questions. And we got to check in early! Thanks again Jeff and VRBO!

Great Location!

Fantastic stay! Everything about the house was as advertised. Great location near the village and an easy 3 minute walk to the beach. The house was beautifully kept, had everything we needed in terms of beach toys, bogie boards, kitchen supplies, etc. The pool was a perfect way to relax at the end of the day. We had one very minor issue during our staff, I called and left Jeff a voicemail and he responded within 5 minutes. Would definitely return!

Amazing Beach Home

Just returned from a week at this beautiful beach home. The house is filled with everything you need for a great vacation. Jeff, the owner is wonderful to work with and made this rental so easy and pleasant. If you’re looking for a fabulous place to stay, steps to the beach with a great backyard pool, this is the place!

Nice House

Easy to book. Easy to check in. When I originally booked the house the description said the house would sleep 16. At some point that changed to just 13 without communication. Other than that the house was as described. I would suggest the owner gets pest control there. I know it's at the beach and insects are expected but it seems like we were getting rid of spiders palmetto bugs and other insects on a regular basis.

Family Vacation

The house was great for our family of 10. We have four grandchildren all under the age of 9. It was perfect for them. There are two living rooms. The kids had one and adults another. Perfect! The location of the house to the beach was just a few minutes walk with little kids on a very quiet road. The best part you could walk back to the house for anything you forgot or to use the facilities which was great and not be gone long! In all our family was very pleased with the house. We would rent again.
