We would like to welcome you to our #104 Ocean Front ā€œhome by the seaā€ in West Maui.
Step back in time and visit romantic old Hawaii during your stay at this unique condo. When you enter, our tropical and colorful dƩcor will welcome you. This unit has reflecting mirrors which offer views of the ocean from the kitchen, living room, and dinette table.
To our guests delight, the beach and waterā€™s edge is 50 ft. from the lanai. You will experience sunsets, rainbows, low reef tide pools, and spectacular views of Molokai and Lanai, Mauiā€™s outer islands. Instead of a flat horizon, every day the cloud patterns change over these 3 islands. You will be able to look across to the park and watch people carry their outrigger canoes, spear fishing gear and kite boards to the sea. The green sea turtles (Honu) feed off the reef and, in the winter, the Humpback whales arrive from Alaska and can be seen from the pool deck.
For your additional comfort, we supply beach towels, hair dryers, a CD music library and DVD player (bring your own movie discs), free WI-FI, a large flat screen TV, free parking, gas BBQā€™s close to pool deck, custom king bed and sofa bed in the living room and fully equipped kitchen. Sleep with the Hawaiian trade winds blowing through this heavenly condo; the north to south breezes go through the tropical louver windows and the front door through to the lanai. Ceiling fans and extra portable fans offer additional breezes. Hale Kai has a private laundry room next to the office for our guests.
Relax on the lanai with your morning latteā€™ (available at nearby Farmerā€™s Market). Sunset cocktails and pupus are enjoyable on your lanai or pool side, which is right on the ocean and just a few steps from your front door. While there are so many activities to do when visiting Maui, you may just want to lounge by the pool or under a palm tree with a good book. (books to borrow in the laundry room). Come join us!
Rates for this unit are based on two(2) occupants (additional $10/night/person), and also vary depending on season, length of stay, and whether your reservation is booked within 30 days of arrival. Please specify your desired dates and number of occupants on the ā€œRates and Availabilityā€ tab to obtain a quote for your specific circumstances. Great Location

I love going to Maui, specifically Honokawai. This condo is in a great location. You can swim in the pool or the ocean. The views sitting on the the lanai are lovely. I am not a big fan of fighting for space outside, like you do at the big resorts, so this place is perfect in my opinion. This was my 3rd stay at the Kale Kai and it wonā€™t be my last.

Beach towels and chairs are available for use in the unit. Out your patio door is the beach and park and out your front door is the pool and beach. This particular unit is ground floor with ocean view off the patio and front door is right on the pathway to the pool and bbqs. The property is all well maintained. Customer service is great. There is a new owner; a new chair & sofa bed were delivered recently so perhaps they are in the middle of fixing up. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably. Or 3 adults & 2 little ones.

The unit is just feet away from a public park with park visitors sitting uncomfortably close to our door. In the evening, it is dark which does not allow for us to see out, but park visitors can easily look into our unit. The front door of this unit had a very flimsy locking mechanism.

It was the best location, walkable to several restaurants and listening to the ocean at night. Condo was relatively quiet too except the occasional kid up at 4 am- poor parents. Condo itself is clean, simple but has everything for basic cooking. Our kids slept on the fold out couch- not comfy, but they didnā€™t seem to care. Bed was decent. Not squishy so that was good. Would stay again!

I expected the cockroaches but I didn't expect,,,,,,,,,

If it was only the roaches or only the mice on the kitchen counter or only the dirty dishes in the cupboards or only the dirty floors or the worst bed in the world,,, this pace would be amazing. Owner refused to respond to emails. Location is amazing and you cannot beat the price, but it was painfully obvious that the owner does not care at all about this property. Great location with a great price but what a piece of crap condo.

Reviewer Comments: I hesitate to leave a good review because Hale Kai is already booked up in advance :) We are repeat visitors and always feel welcome, spoiled, and well looked-after by the the whole team. Thank you for another moment of paradise! To note is that everything was very clean and all the bedclothes were freshly washed, including the mattress protector. We enjoy the Farmer's Market and the Fish Market for over-priced, delicious snacks and meals. Rent snorkelling gear across the street and try Honolua Bay (vehicle needed) and Airport Beach for gorgeous coral reefs (30 minute walk south)!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Many of the comments are recognizing the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, however, they will be part of an overall experience. We have noticed a lack of upkeep in the property. Decking around pool in need of repair. Staff in office unavailable most of the time. We were in 104 and overall it was clean when we arrived, but sliding doors of shower difficult as well as door leading to patio. Difficult to open fridge without turning on the range. Need to be very careful because it happens unexpectedly. The location is spectacular and we have always enjoyed it thoroughly. Just some details need to be considered.
