ALOHA AND WELCOME TO HALE KAI # 102




Beautiful one bedroom condo with king bed and sleeper sofa that can accommodate up to four people. Children and long term rentals are welcome. Located in Honokawai, which is between Kaanapali and Kapalua in West Maui. The condo is located literally 50' from the beach and adjacent to a park. Unit #102 is located on the ground floor and enjoys direct ocean views.
You can not get much closer to the beautiful Maui Pacific Ocean paradise!


Honokawai has some of the best weather in Maui with afternoon breezes that keep it much cooler than the much hotter Lahaina and Kihei areas, or the rainy Kapalua area. The Hale Kai complex is across the street from a market/deli and several small restaurants.


The condo was fully remodeled in 2009 with all new ceramic flooring, extensive can lighting, a fully remodeled bathroom and kitchen featuring granite counters, stainless steel appliances and maple cabinetry. All furniture is new with a Maui beach cottage theme.


The complex features a pool, laundry facilities, parking and barbeques.


Hale Kai is located in Honokawai, which is halfway between Kaanapali and Kapalua. This small area is very laid back but has all the amenities you could need, with a small market and church accross the street, several delis and restaurants a short walk away and other services. Also the weather of Honokawai is cooler than Lahaina and much less rainy than Kapalua. The beach in front of Hale Kai offers nice snorkeling and one can often see green sea turtles in the morning and evening.

Rates for this unit are based on two occupants, (additional $10/night/person), and also vary depending on season, length of stay, and whether booked at the last moment. But , if you want the experience of a lifetime , a taste of true Hawaii THIS is the place for you! Laid back, no hurry , no worries. Views that postcards would die for, ocean literally steps away. Five star chef- ME! Very nice kitchen with all the utensils to create your hearts desires. Local markets with a plethora of local and world cuisine. Centrally located to explore all the hot spot tourists locations yet off the beaten path enough to give you that local vibe. This will be my Hawaiian home... even if for only a week or so ,feels like home! Aloha!

Beautiful location

Stayed 5 nights in April and spent the majority of our time on the lanai and occasionally having a dip in the ocean. Spotted a few whales and turtles during the day and cute little ghost crabs making their burrows at night. Did not actually use the kitchen or pool but both looked nice. Found a blender for some fun frozen drinks and laundry facilities onsite were handy. Was not prepared for the seemingly lack of privacy with all the open windows. However, the trade off of hearing the neighbors 24/7 was also being lulled to sleep by the waves and waking up to the beach. Mahalo

They manage to get a lot done even with constant interruptions of walk in guests and ringing phones! Good job ladies, Thank you! Most guests were friendly except for a few who were bothered by children in the pool at 9am having noisy fun Unit 102 is great, nice big kitchen, nice bathroom, but the King size bed is very high and was difficult to get into. Perhaps getting rid of the box spring and replacing the mattress with a new pillow top mattress would solve this problem So, unit 102 is very nice, staff is great , location is convenient , the HK is just like home and we're looking forward to our next stay there!

Condo was not totally cleaned; toilet seat very loose and I asked for it to be fixed; no follow through from the manager. I tightened it myself as best I could, but it was filthy. A small plastic step stool in the bedroom closet was fit only for the garbage.Otherwise, we enjoyed the condo and its location, the park right next to it, the market across the street, etc. We hope to return again!

Everything is nice in this unit but some things need a upgrade.... The unit didn't have wine glass, we bought 6 and leave it there and all the plate is plastic ,not nice for a nice romantic meal... The wifi didn't work at all and the hot water stay for 5 min max in the shower. It is a wonderful unit and we plan to go back , We just wish they fix the problem with the hot water and maybe update the kitchen appliance :(the refrigeraytor look rusty outside and not clean, the coffee maker need to be change also.... We enjoy our stay and we look forward to back at Hale Kai!

If you're looking to avoid any of the big resorts and huge crowds associated with places like that then this is the place for you. Other guests were very nice and the owners who live there full time are super helpful and friendly (Rita was hilarious and sweet as could be!).Unit 102 itself was nice and clean. The view and being next to the park were fantastic. My only recommendation to the owner would be to get a new bed as the current bed was a bit squishy.All in all a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back. In fact....wish I was there right now!

Great remodel on the site. One suggestion is to get a new mattress or a top foam pad. Very hard for me. But not enough to not come back again and again.
