Bonita Beach Bay Bungalow

Beautiful view out back of the bay. A short walk to the beach. Close to good restaurants. Will be returning next year.

Location, location, location

Chose the bungalow for its terrific location and it totally delivered on that point. There was a vacant lot directly across the street from the driveway leading to direct beach access, away from the crowd. This gave us plenty of our own beach space but only steps away from Doc's beach bar and all its amenities. We knew when we selected this home that there would be some trade offs with the overall amenities of the home. We grill a lot and the supplied grill has seen better days, and unlike most people on vacation we cook in more than most. The home although pretty well supplied, there were some things we wished were updated. The updated bathroom in the lower level was very nice, as well as very comfortable beds and bedding.Overall we were both very happy with our stay and would highly recommend the bungalow to any who wants the ideal beach home at a reasonable price. Lastly the owners were very responsive any time we reached out.

Great little home across from the beach

We loved this little place across from the beach. We came down to escape the cold Chicago winter. My husband set up a little "office" on the ground floor. He had a great view out the sliding glass doors of the back bay. It worked out great. The property was very clean and the property owner was extremely responsive. We loved that they had Tommy Bahama beach chairs. The beach was just a short walk across the street. Docs was just a few door down. Someone in the past complained about the bed in the master bedroom, but we found it very comfortable. The bathroom in the master bedroom is very small, however, there are two other nice size bathrooms in the home. The ground floor bathroom looks brand new. Our only issue was with the windows. To us, it seemed like the energy efficient film was installed on the wrong side of the windows. It was very dark in the unit during the day if the windows were closed and at night, you could not see out of the windows, but others could see right in. It was a little unsettling to us.

Steps from the sunset

Our stay was very relaxing. Everything we needed for a beach retreat ( did run out of toilet paper though & there was no extra). Great location,you just need to time coming and going with the beach traffic. So much to do if you don’t even want to get in your car. Most amazing sunsets we have seen! Wish I could add a picture.

Very Good

My husband and I enjoyed almost 3 weeks at this sweet cottage. The location was excellent. It was just a short couple minute walk to the beach and a short drive to the grocery story and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the back deck overlooking the canal, observing birds, dolphins and fish jumping. We were even able to view the beautiful sunsets from the end of the deck! The house was very clean and well stocked. We particularly were appreciative of the beach supplies that were provided for our use. The only negative for us was the king size bed mattress was very uncomfortable. We had to move into the queen bedroom for a better mattress. Also the couch in the living room was not comfortable. We spent more time sitting in the kitchen which wasn’t all bad with that great view of the canal! All in all, would definitely recommend this cottage.

Great Location

Excellent location with restaurants and bars in walking distance. Private dock on canal and beach across the street. Plenty of parking space. Centrally located between Fort Myers and Naples. Very enjoyable two weeks.

Bonita Beach

We've stayed in the Bonita Beach--Little Hickory area for several years. Hurricane Ian interrupted our tradition but we are thankful to find this house across from the beach that we love. The house was perfect for us for our holiday getaway. The house was clean and the updates since the hurricane are wonderful. Highly recommend.

Comfy 2 bedroom home with all amenities you will need!

The location is perfect directly across from the beach it’s a 2 minute walk. You can use beach access 1 with lots of people and things to see and do by Doc’s Restaurant, or access 2 is a little less crowded. The home has a beach buggy lots of chairs, 2 umbrellas, floats, skim boards beach towels, and several coolers and lots of other beach items. The beds are so comfortable with really nice linens. The bathrooms have lots of plush towels and some toiletries which was a plus. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you will need to cook with lots of spices. I did see that several people mentioned the lower level smelled musty, but people have to realize the owner can’t run a air conditioner 24/7 when they don’t have renters, so when you get to the home just run the lower level air conditioner and the smell will be gone in a day or 2. The lower level couch is comfy and the third bathroom down there is really nice. My family of 4 would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the owners for making sure our stay was perfect.

Memorial Weekend Beach Trip

Great two bedroom house walking distance (short) to beach. Great accessories and nicely updated home. No dishwasher so kept us on top of keeping dishes clean. Great tv’s and A/C. Several places to sit on back porch and balcony for small group. Very busy street in front of home but always easy to get out, just busy., so need to watch and pay attention. Hosts were amazing.

Everything was as presented in the property description. Close to beach and also located on a quiet canal. Owners were generous with the use of their personal property as well. We had a great time during our stay.

Wonderful home

The house was fabulous. Had everything we needed and more. We saw dolphins 2 mornings up close to our dock. Good location - close to restaurants. Uber and Lyft were easy to catch.

Excellent Location

Older property but location is excellent. Owners were great. To be truthful, the first floor was extremely musty. We could not use the pullout. Also, no fault of the owners but construction noise was constant. Overall, we had a nice stay

Christmas on the Beach!

Stephen and Rachel are wonderful hosts. Easy access to their home. Everything was very clean, comfortable beds, most fabulous is the well stocked kitchen, utensils, dishes, all cooking and baking pans, if you’re cooking in, you have everything you need, especially a well stocked spice cabinet, very much appreciate not wasting buying sugar, oils, condiments for a short stay. Beach going was 100% easy, rolling cart, chairs, umbrellas, toys for kids- they provide it all. The basement is pretty musty, it would be difficult asking someone to sleep on the pullout couch down there. It was fantastic having washer/dryer. We paddled out on the canal into the bay on the kayaks, and fished off the dock. You’re going to love the sunrise and shady evenings looking over the canal.

Beautiful views.

This is a delightful property and centrally located. The owners were responsive and helpful. It's a great place to rest and relax and to have fun. There are lots of beach toys and things for kids. Good for any age. We highly recommend.

Quaint beach home

This bungalow beach home was everything they advertised. Nicely decorated, and clean. Had amenities that made it even more awesome. Loved the use of kayaks, life jackets, fishing gear, all beach needs minus your own suit of course. Grateful to owners for leaving sunscreen, bug spray, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and coffee pods for the next guests. We comfortably slept all 5 of us here. Plenty of space for everyone. Hope you keep the home just as it is, and don't become a monstrosity like the neighbor home. We look forward to coming back to the quaint blue beach home again in the future.

Overall Good but for AC Temps

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house is fully stocked with everything we needed for our day to day and even a lot of beach items which made our stay stress-free. Conveniently located across the street from the beach and centrally located with plenty to do nearby. I would say the only issue we had with our stay was the controlled AC temperatures of 75 degrees fahrenheit (to sleep) being the lowest the AC would go. My family was very uncomfortable because of this.

Perfect Beach Getaway

We only had a few short days on the coast but this property was perfect for our family. We loved the proximity to the beach and the amenities of the house. Communication with our host, Stephen, was easy and he responded quickly. We rode out Tropical Storm Elsa and felt completely safe knowing Stephen had swung by to tie everything down. We hope to come back more day for another stay.

Close to the beach

Everything was clean and close to the beach. There are some newer/possibly nicer places to stay nearby, but we found this property to be a great combination of price and proximity to the beach and restaurants. There were TVs in basically every room. We had some difficulty watching the local stations/news, but there were plenty of apps to watch any movie, series, etc., you wanted. The only thing I would change is I think the doors that open to the outside should have deadbolts. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location

Great location and loved that kayaks were provided. All the beach necessities you would need including towels, umbrellas, coolers, fishing poles, floats, & toys. Walk to the beach! Nice upper deck to sit on in the evening - we saw a dolphin. The house is a little hot but there are ceiling fans in each room. Very clean. Would stay here again.

Great little place across from the beach

We had a great time. Went kayaking on the bay and walked on the beach almost every day. The beach access is a 5 minute walk. The house is amply supplied with vacation gear - fishing poles, beach chairs, kayaks, life jackets. Having the washer and dryer was great too.
