Great place to stay to visit St. Augustine and the beach. The beach is just over the dune, can hear the ocean even with the door/window closed. Beautiful sunrise on the porch with coffee. Nice grassy area for kids to run. Inside we just needed to pick up some of the more fragile decorative items to keep the 2 yo from messing with them. We enjoyed our short winter stay, hopefully to be back in the summer.

Our host Dan was great! He was welcoming and addressed questions promptly. The location was great. Close to downtown and walking distance to Publix and several restaurants. Of course the beach access and pool were definitely a plus!

Great place! The dunes are beautiful, and you can hear the ocean all the time. We loved having the option of sitting on the screened-in porch with comfy furniture or outdoors on the patio. First floor but very private and very easy access to the pool and boardwalk. We really appreciated the ample supply of towels including beach towels. Vilano Beach is lovely--still sleepy for now and easy access to St. Augustine.

Perfect condo right on the beach

Great place to stay. Location is perfect. Condo has new bathrooms, many towels, as well as beach towels. Very warming place to be. The host was responsive to a few issues that I had with website.

Very nice

Very nice condo directly ocean front in a great location. The sunrises were incredible. Both bathrooms have recently been renovated beautifully and the sleepnumber beds were great.

Family Christmas

We own the condo next door but needed additional space for our whole family for Christmas. It was a perfect arrangement for us. Dan is easy to work with as a host. A wonderful Christmas together!

Week at Vilano

The stay was in a ground floor condo. The building had covered parking, swimming pool, and tennis courts. The oceanside of the condo opened onto a manicured yard that ran up to the main dune. Wonderful sunrises were witnessed through the picture windows. My wife even spotted an armadillo rambling through the yard. The inside had a huge leather sofa. Very comfortable! It also had a Peleton cycle that we did not try. Highlights was the deluge shower in the master bath and a message chair in the secondary bedroom. Kitchen utensils had some limitations. I suggest bringing a frying pan and a tea pitcher if you plan to have breakfasts and ice tea. The owner had good communication and everything was as advertised. We had a good week.

location good, condo not so good

Am aware owner has contacted VRBO w/ "his side". Contacted him next day after arrival regarding TV usage, took him 2 days to get back to us. He in Chicago, wife teaches, & we did have both their #'s, but he said he would get back to us "after his return home" @ end of week we stayed, which we never heard anything from him until we had been home a week. The issues were 1 toilet running continually, had to turn water off to sleep. 1 faucet in MBA ran hot water so slowly took 20 minutes to run bath water, & shower could not be adjusted to comfort level. Faucet in K sink corroded, only sprayed, no stream(since replaced, he says)Both BR carpets had stains in many places (how he can deny that I do not know, as we took pictures), wall cracks, patches of walls near all front windows needed repair. His excuse is "settling". There are 6 closets in condo, w/ much paraphanelia, so we missed the supply of toilet paper (why not have a spare under each BA sink)? & bath mats in closets, not in tub/showers, no hand grabs for safety (we are 75 & 80), MBR bed has 6"platform sticking out near floor, around entire bed, bumped feet on getting out, so had to put pillow down, 2 nt. stands are so low that impossible to read in bed, had to move another table in from other BR, pantry door & other doors were dirty, need painting. The DR chairs/stools need slides, as very noisy when moving. Most of these issues could not be "fixed" while we were there, but the owner continued to receive emails & did not acknowledge our complaints as above & was very defensive when we notified him. EX: he cannot help the water company water pressure. When we vacation, it is our home, as we cook & try to enjoy our surroundings, & the weather was cold in St. Augustine, so we were inside a lot & do no appreciate what we were seeing/experiencing. A broken K. sink that only sprays is very annoying. The owner says he "never discounts", so we are stuck w/ paying for a condo in less than pristine condition. We waited until our damage deposit was returned to our visa before replying. We noticed the condo appears to be rented for Feb/March, & am sure a long term tenant will certainly notice the above issues. We even stated to him that we knew we could not resolve most of the issues but to be ignored is disturbing. We have used VRBO since 2006, sometimes rent 2 mos & always owners have been happy to correct problems. This owner denies existence of problems. We have pictures of all above.

Appearance of condo

Condo needs to be freshened up. Needs repainted inside, all the doors need a good cleaning and painting including new door knobs. You could see the wear and tear and embedded grime. The window shades were old and not all of them pulled up and there was tape at the bottoms of the windows and doors. I would have expected a more fresh up-to-date interior with the amount of money we paid to stay in this unit. We did like that there were 2 bikes to use (however the chains were very rusty) and beach amenities to use, ie. chairs and beach towels. We didn’t expect to have to wash the provided towels and take out the garbage prior to checking out. Overall it was decent with the best part being right on the beach. .

Great Stay at Vilano

I enjoyed this unit very much. The owner was very nice and helpful. The unit had a beautiful kitchen and was fully stocked. I would definitely stay here again

Quick weekend get away

This is a wonderful property! It is a great location, nice and quiet. We came for a wedding in Jacksonville and it was a short 45 minute drive away. We were able to relax at the beach outside the back door and spent every night on the screened in patio. Definitely will be back!

Highly recommend!

This condo has everything you need! The property owner makes sure you have plenty of supplies in the kitchen and for the beach. Very relaxing by the pool or beach. Always a quite area with a perfect view. Will definitely come back and stay again. It really felt like home!

Loved this place!

My husband and I absolutely loved staying here! The grounds are immaculate, easy access to the beach, plenty of privacy/space on the beach. The condo was comfortable, quiet, clean and everything we needed with exception to having only one beach chair. We'll definitely be back!!

Sea watch 7a

We just departed at 9am. We stripped the beds, took out the garbage and started the dishes and towels. Ideal for my sister and I but not so much for my mother. We didn’t realize she could not smoke anywhere on the property so we took her off campus multiple times a day. She is 84 with limited mobility. Interestingly, we saw many people smoking in the parking lot.

Would come back to this perfect location!

Thank You first for a great visit to your island. Your condo is in a perfect location with great amenities. All the kitchen appliances were great; however, you should know, the wine cooler was not working. That did not affect our stay at all. The condo was nicely decorated but if we could offer a few suggestions that might make you next guest more comfortable and maybe bring in additional money for you. The exterior was perfect. But a professional interior paint job would make the condo appear cleaner. And or a good deep cleaning would help especially moldings and baseboards. There was a very heavy odor of cat or dog, we had a guest with a dander allergy – please inform guests that’s pets have been allowed. Fresh and neat linens including bath rugs and towels. We did find burnt towels, stained sheets and comforters. Additional beach chairs would have been appreciated. We did have plenty of beach towels. The second bedroom had a few issues, the mattress/box spring was very noisy in the night. The bath needed some attention, mold in the shower and could use some new grout. The toilet ran almost constantly. We would stay with you again and would suggest your property.

Perfect for a family

This was the perfect spot for my family to spend the weekend! My husband and I took our 10 month old daughter and my parents and the space was perfect for all of us. It’s quiet, comfortable, and right on the water. Dan was great about getting back to me via messages as I began having questions when it was close to our rental. He was very kind and accommodating! We can’t wait to go back again!

Location, Location, Location

The condo was in a great spot with easy access to S.t Augustine and Ponte Vedra. Wonderful restaurants very close by, Caps has an exceptional view and atmosphere. The condo was clean, quiet, and peaceful leading to a relaxing enjoyable stay. We took advantage of the pool early in the morning as well as lounging around it in the evening. Great place to stay for golfers, fishermen, and families looking for a place to unwind.

Perfect vacation

Property was right on the beach with beautiful views. The decorations were so perfect for the beach area and he provided almost everything you could need form beach toys to hair spray! Will definitely be back again :)

Great Time

We had a great time. Our grandkids enjoyed the ocean and pool. The condo easily slept six of us and truly made the beach relaxing and fun. The restaurants (Caps, Aunt Kate's and Beaches) were within three miles and the seafood was outstanding. Publix was was less two miles. We did visit the Whetstone Chocolates Factory in St. Augustine and enjoyed the tour and samples. The unit was clean with all the conveniences. We enjoyed the two five seat couches that were electrically controlled permitting us to fold the couchs into beds.. Vilano Beach is less crowded and there were several families at the Sea Watch. We met Keith the handy man and he was very helpful with info about the area. We plan to return and are grateful to the owner for being available and promptly answering our questions. Everything you need to enjoy an amazing city.

We spent a few days at this property and it was perfect for our family. It is located right on the beach and in a very nice area. The property is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need to enjoy a stay in the area. Fall asleep and wake up to the sound of crashing waves. Have your morning coffee on the screen porch and watch the sun rise over the ocean. Enjoy the semi private beach or the pool. Whatever you do, you will feel right at home. This place is perfect for smaller families or two couples. Thank you for the beautiful, convenient property!

We purchased our piece of paradise in Vilano Beach a decade ago and have been enjoying the relaxed, quiet beach town as well as historic St. Augustine ever since. We love sharing with our guests from all over the world, why we think Vilano Beach is the best kept secret in Florida.

We presently live in Alexandria, VA where I am employed by Amazon and my wife is a Kindergarten teacher. This property has been off the rental market for a long term rental for a year and our enjoyment of the property this summer. We are excited to share our piece of paradise again with others.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We discovered this area over a decade ago while we were living in Gainesville, FL and spent many long weekends visiting and staying at a local hotel. We loved that the beach area was quiet and pristine with gorgeous views from Porpoise Point that remind us of our trips to the Caribbean. It has an island feel to it and the beach character changes with the seasons. This area is mostly residential homes, with only a couple of condo complexes available in this immediate area. There is a wide beach available for your enjoyment and you might even see baby sea turtles hatching or be the first to see a turtle nest. There is a Publix grocery store within walking distance or a short drive away, a gas station/convenience store and a variety of restaurants from waterfront/beachfront, casual/formal.

You are still only a 10 minute drive to downtown Saint Augustine and all the landmarks, shops and restaurants. During "in-season" (May - September), there are water taxi's and trolleys that run from the Vilano beach pier area that can take you to downtown Saint Augustine, thus avoiding any worries about parking in the downtown area.
