We thoroughly enjoyed our lovely stay in the beautiful, rustic cabin on the River. It had everything you could possibly need with a wonderful shower, fully stocked kitchen with utensils and spices and a fireplace that we spent every night in front of. Only suggestion would be to bring your own drinking water. While the water is safe to drink it does have a little different taste to it. Well worth a visit and we hope to go back again.

We had another fabulous Fall getaway at Jason & Nicole’s lovely property! The peace and serenity keep us coming back year after year. Whether you are out and about exploring local wineries and restaurants or just relaxing at the house, this is the perfect getaway to recharge and just step away from everyday life.My dogs absolutely love visiting and being about to run off-leash on the property and of course, jump in the river. The firepit and hot-tub are perfect ways to end the chilly Fall evenings.Already looking forward to our stay next year!

Third stay here and each time gets a little longer. Jason and Nicole have created the perfect cabin in a perfect setting. Never have I seen my husband and our dog happier. Clean, well stocked, great hot tub. Perfection! Thank you guys!

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend away at the cabin. Full of relaxing fun, horseshoes, basketball, cooking over the fire, floating the river and hiking! A great time with family. Thank you!

If you are looking for acreage, privacy, or riverfront property, this is your place. I took my sons (12,10) and our dog for 3 nights, and we all had a great time. From fires to playing in the river to sports in the main yard and across the street to board games in the rain. This place is easy to get to, and the hosts are over-accommodating. Don't hesitate if this is on your list.

When we envisioned the perfect elegantly rustic cabin in a beautiful wooded location, we didn’t realize it actually existed, but we just spent a perfect week in it.Everything about this was done to perfection. The grounds were immaculate, the cabin decor was elegant and interesting, the preparation for guests was thorough and thoughtful, and the hosts were very helpful, friendly, and responsive. We can’t say enough good things about this property.

What a special place this is- truly a retreat! Our family of four (including two little ones) had a great time playing in the river, finding pinecones and frogs, and enjoying the beautiful setting. The cabin was immaculate and well appointed for a young family.Nicole and Jason are exceptional hosts. It is obvious that they love this place and take pride and joy in sharing with others. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Boardman river. Jason and Nicole were very helpful with check-in! Campfires and fishing and enjoying the outdoors was enjoyed by all. See you next year!

My wife and I stayed at Shadowland River Lodge for a babymoon and it was the perfect getaway. Jason and Nicole are wonderful hosts. They greet you at the beginning of your stay to show you around the property and the lodge, which is fantastic. The property is in the perfect spot, far enough from town you can disconnect but close enough to enjoy all Traverse City has to offer. We will be back in the future!

We had an amazing time at Shadowland!! Check in with Jason and Nicole was a great start to our stay!! We loved chatting and learning the history of the beautiful home! The home was very well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed!! The weather was a bit to be desired, but we took the opportunity to play games and enjoy the fireplace!! We would love to stay at Shadowland again some day!!

We are repeat visitors and each experience we have is excellent! The hosts are wonderful and top notch in their communication and responsiveness. This was our first time staying at Shadowland and it did not disappoint. It’s a very special place and I hope we get a chance to go back. Jason and Nicole met us there and walked us through the property which was a nice touch. Wonderful people! The property was better than expected. Everything was very clean and they really had everything you would need and more. The only challenging part was the one bathroom. With a family of five it was little challenging at times having only one toilet. Overall it was a great time at shadowland. We definitely will be back.

We are truly grateful to Jason and Nicole for their incredible hospitality. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us warmly, gave us a tour, and made us instantly comfortable. The cabin was perfectly stocked with everything we could need, and its secluded location by the beautiful river created the ideal setting for our anniversary. Their thoughtful gesture of providing a bottle of wine with chilled glasses went above and beyond. Evenings by the fire pit with s’mores were magical, and relaxing in the hot tub under the cool night air added the perfect finishing touch. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable. Debra & Rick

Host were great. We appreciated meeting the host him showing us everything. All the amenities were great. We loved the privacy and peacefulness of the place. The property was awesome our dog loved every bit of it. Love to come back in the early fall.
