We had a fantastic stay at Dunne Cottage!! Marti, Ed, and Julia truly have their own little slice of Block Island heaven here. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights; it was a perfect week and retreat away from our day-to-day. The cottage itself is cozy yet spacious, which goes a long way when you have a 6’4” husband! We loved lounging in the main living and dining area in the mornings, evenings, and on rainy days. We generally have a difficult time getting good rest away from home, but slept beautifully at the cottage. The couch, bed, pillows, nightstands, shelving- we unpacked and made ourselves right at home! The outdoor shower was the quintessential New England experience, and the water pressure and temperature were excellent! For coffee and cooking, we had every appliance and piece of kitchenware we needed (even the knives were sharp!), and it made each day seamless. We work remotely and could easily set up at the high top table to work, with a great WiFi connection. For breaks during the day and at night, it was wonderful to be just a mile from town (and grocery store) and also the marinas, where we would with walk or ride our bikes on the idyllic rolling island roads. On a clear evening, we even grabbed the beach chairs and sat up on their hilltop to look at the stars; the views on this property are simply unreal!! It was an absolute delight to meet Julia on our first day, and Marti and Ed before we departed, they are exceptional hosts and we cannot wait to come back!
