We stayed in this condo for one week in early August 2026. Let’s start with the positive aspects for the VRBO – The condo is in a great location, right on the beach. The balcony has a great view of the beach which we enjoyed. Kure beach is very nice and the town is quiet, but has some fairly good “beachy” restaurants. Carolina Beach, which has more restaurants and activities, is a short drive. The condo is also very close to the NC Aquarium (which is currently closed for expansion) and Fort Fisher State Park and Recreation Area, and also not far from Wilmington, which is a really nice mid-size and historic city. Finally, the property management person, Tammie, was very helpful and responsive. We had a few issues with the condo (e.g. window covering in the bedroom) and she came to fix it the day we called her. Now let’s discuss the negatives – This condo is in serious need of updating. Almost everything in the condo is old and very used. This includes the kitchen appliances, the kitchen equipment (e.g. toaster, flatware, knives, etc., etc), the furniture, the bedding , the linens, the bathrooms, etc. The condo was not “dirty”, but its condition almost made it feel that way. We understand that condos at the beach can get worn out fairly quickly, but the owners need to invest in updating this condo. It certainly has potential, but we would NOT stay in the condo again.
