This is a rather a cool redo of one of the most modern homes of its time. Powell House, a 1913 American Prairie-style home, has been restored and updated by one of Little Rock's foremost designers, receiving the Quapaw Quarter Association's 2019 Award of Merit. The location between hip Hilllcrest and downtown is perfect for business and pleasure. Close to the State Capitol and medical centers, we have special rates for rentals over 1 week.
The house has enclosed off-street parking and outside security cameras and was designed for VRBO and Airbnb use. The public rooms are perfect for gathering. Historians will appreciate the original wood paneling, floors and beams. A gas fireplace warms the large living room. Most favored is the upscale eat-in kitchen with wine and coffee bar. The sunroom has a smart TV and game table with a view of the back patio and garden. Upstairs, there are two king bedrooms, one with a spacious ensuite with soaking tub and separate shower, and the other sharing a hall bath with walk-in shower. In addition, there is a queen room and a charming enclosed sleeping porch with a 2-twin trundle bed.
Enjoy our outdoor spaces in the back with gas grill and gas fire table with seating on the patio. Feel free to walk up the concrete staircase through the azalea garden to the gazebo with a large table and chairs. Or, perhaps you prefer to move to the front and lounge out on the huge front porch with seating that looks out over the Arkansas School for the Blind campus (this best place after a good snow for Winter fun, or to watch the Little Rock Marathon in the Spring).
This house easily accommodates six adults. Children are welcome in the kid-friendly areas of the house. Note, we do not allow more than 8 persons in the house, including VRBO overnight guests and any others visiting; an advance request for an exception to this rule is occasionally made depending on the circumstances. Please let us know any special requirements and ways we can help make your visit special.
