Rancho Majagual is ideal for families, retreats and groups who are looking to enjoy a large communal space while enjoying privacy as we well.

Nestled amongst the private holdings of over 120 acres of lush tropical gardens and the entire beachfront you will find a spacious 5 bedroom villa and an additional two, one bedroom Ranchitos. Rancho Majagual offers the comforts of A/C, wifi, onsite concierge, security, cleaning, chef and butler services and large, sunny beach front infinity pool.

With over 120 acres of beachfront and lush jungle combined guests who stay at Rancho Majagal can choose to spend their day doing what makes them happy. This may mean relaxing on the beach or by the pool for the afternoon. Or perhaps wandering on our pathways that wind their way through the tropical gardens; you might spot some of the unique animals of Nicaragua that share our retreat: howler monkeys, sloths and flocks of wild parakeets. Rancho Managual is truly set in a magical place.

The main house, El Rancho is set amongst the properties tropical gardens, just steps away from the beach. Influenced by classic Latin American architecture, the home is bright, breezy and blends seamlessly into it’s natural surroundings of palms, flowers and native trees. A nature lovers dream come true. In keeping with Latin American design, the homes bedrooms are located on the perimeter of a central great room, offering our guests maximum privacy and quiet when resting. Each of the main home’s five bedrooms have their own A/C unit allowing our guest to be able to choose the ideal temperature to guarantee a comfortable nights rest. In addition, a private ensuite bathroom with hot water is attached to each of the beautiful, well appointed bedrooms.

The Great Room, befitting its name, rises above you; a vaulted palm roof supported by local felled timbers. The space is outfitted with multiple sitting areas as well as a dining table. This allows for several conversations to take place without the room ever feeling noisy or crowded. An additional 1/2 bath is located here for your convenience. Our unique hand painted floor and bath tiles were handmade by local artisans and reflect the colours and vibrancy of Nicaragua.

Three private, stand alone, one bedroom Ranchitos- named Palmera, Madera & Jicaro are situated on the beach front. Walk out your front doors directly onto the the soft white sand of Playa Majagual. Each of these air conditioned Ranchitos consist of bedroom with a comfortable king sized bed, soft, high end linens, a private, ensuite bathroom with hot water, a spacious living room (with a queen size futon couch), and front porch area with lounge chairs comprise the space.

Rancho Majagual’s Club House is a large, airy, social hub with a vaulted palm roof is the perfect place for families and groups to gather for meals, cocktails and fun. The Club House includes a large sitting area, dining area, bar, kitchen and 1/2 bathroom for your convenience. Located right near the beach and only a few steps away from the Club House is the properties large, infinity edge pool. Offering spectacular views and multiple loungers, we dare to suggest this might be the best spot to relax in all of Central America!

Located directly on Playa Majagual, our guests enjoy unparalleled beach access. The warm, tranquil waters of this protected bay are ideal for swimming, fishing and walking at any time of the day. Located only a short walk from Playa Majagual are the two nearby beaches of Playones (Playa Matildas) and the famed surf spot of Playa Maderas. Staying here at Rancho Majagual gives you direct and easy access to all three of the of the San Juan del Sur areas best beaches.

Our full time staff include an on-site Property Manager, Gardeners, Housekeepers and 24 hour security. Our team connects with our guests prior to their visit to ensure they have everything they may need in order to have an effortless and relaxing experience. Our onsite manager (fluent in Spanish & English) is available to assist travellers with any needs that may arise. Enjoy the complimentary breakfast cooked for you by our onsite private chef. If you like, our Chef is available to prepare all 3 meals for you while you simply relax or explore the surrounding area. (additional fees do apply). Daily housekeeping is provided as well as 24hr onsite security.

The main home El Rancho and the beach front Ranchitos may be rented as whole, sleeping up to 16 guests, or separately with the main home sleeping 10, and each individual Ranchito, a maximum of 2 guests + 1 infant/child

Practical Information:
We have access not only by land, but by sea and air as well. Access to the property from the town of San Juan del Sur can be done via a water taxi (20minutes) or car (25 minutes). We can also assist with arranging a helicopter from the airport in Managua or Costa Esmerelda with your landing pad located directly on the property. Roads leading out of San Juan del Sur and the Costa Esmerelda airport are unpaved and can be rough. The home is located 12km (about 20mins drive) from the town of SJDS on country roads- meaning cows, horses! You truly get to see how and where the people of Nicaragua live. We want to make sure you are aware of this journey to and from town If you are looking to do some exploring and would prefer your own vehicle, we recommend renting one with high clearance and 4WD capabilities- and we will happily assist you with making that happen.

Guests will not find local shops to purchase supplies within easy distance. We recommend purchasing supplies in the nearby town of San Juan del Sur or we can also arrange for our private chef to prepare 2 or 3 meals a day for you (additional fees apply). Other amenities: generator (very important as electricity in Nicaragua can be unstable), wifi, boogie boards, surf boards, ocean kayaks, life vests (adult and child). Private gated property with 24 hour security & daily cleaning service.
