Shorepine Retreat

Shorepine Retreat is the perfect space for a quiet, romantic retreat. With its wood-lined walls, beamed ceiling, rustic exterior, and oceanfront views, Shorepine Retreat has all the charm of a classic Oregon beach cabin, but all the modern amenities to make your studio stay downright luxurious. You’ll have the comfort of a leather sofa, woodstove, and flat-screen TV for cozy lounging, a small but updated and surprisingly well-equipped kitchen, dining space looking out to the sea, and a queen bed. A beautifully updated bath includes a slate-lined walk-in shower. But the best amenity is a deck across the ocean-facing side that will become an extension of the interior—you’ll want to spend all your time enjoying the sounds of the surf and sweep of the ocean sky. An easy walk will take you to miles of sandy, level beach and views of the Yaquina Lighthouse; hop in the car and arrive in minutes at the restaurants and shops of Nye Beach, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and the marina and quaint storefronts of the historic Newport Bayfront. After a day of coastal adventure, you’ll be happy to retreat to your home sweet home at Shorepine Retreat to watch the sunset over the ocean.

I was unable to use my booking, but the frien that took my place said it was great. A nice private deck with a view and peace and quiet. I'll try again.

First the cons, The driveway is very tight and over grown with vegetation. There is no beach access from the property.Pros. Omg the views!! Amazing. The bed was comfortable very nice relaxing little place. We were here for our 20th anniversary and this place exceeded our expectations. There is a wood burning stove but bring your own presto logs.

My wife and I celebrated our 45 anniversary. The place was perfect for us, close to everything. The view of the ocean was awesome. We ate out, so didn't cook in unit. The dirt driveway to the house is narrow with blackberry bushes on both sides. It is narrow and hard to turn around. That is my only complaint.

The property delivers on its promise of spectacular views and privacy. This property could have been an easy 5 star experience however a few glaring issues really dragged down the property for us. The bed was absolutely horrible, completely wornout and in dire need of replacement, they went to the trouble of putting a cheap foam mattress topper on it, so they knew it was an issue. If you can't afford to replace the mattress multiple times per year you are in the wrong business. I slept on the couch the second night. The pillows were completely flat and of a similar vintage as the mattress. The views of the light house from The deck were stunning however the all the deck furniture was garbage, cheap faded plastic and a rusting table who whose umbrella had blown away long ago. The deck itself had at least one board that I almost fell through and was in dire need of repainting. If the owners had kept up on the maintenance this would have been 5 stars easy.

This is a tiny beach house that has a fabulous view from the deck.outside and the floor-to-ceiling windows inside. Surrounding vegetation makes it seem very private. Inside, the space is spare, but elegantly furnished, perfect for two people. Nice original artwork on the walls. No direct beach access, but that is OK since the thick vegetation discourages unwanted visitors. Agate Beach is within easy walking distance. There is a wood burning stove, but we did not use it. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come again

The location of this property is amazing. The views of the beach and lighthouse from the large deck and the privacy make it a very special place to stay. It had everything we needed for a very pleasurable and relaxing few days at the coast. We would definitely stay here again when we're next in Newport. Finding the location was a little tricky because the address doesn't show up correctly on maps, but the property management company was very helpful when we called to get accurate directions.

Spectacular View

Enjoyed our time in Newport. Great location for seeing Depoe Bay and Newport. Enjoyed 3 days of seafood and a fabulous view!

Beautiful retreat

This place has an amazing view of the beach and nearby lighthouse. It's a nice quiet retreat for a couple. Well managed and maintained.

Tucked away with sweeping views and the only sound you'll hear is the crashing waves!

This property is even better in person. It has all the ammentities to be comfortable, the bed was comfortable, and the privacy and views were amazing. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for a great stay!

A Gem

Perfect spot for 2. Quiet, secluded yet close enough to services and Old Town. We walked to the beach. It's a bit of a hike, but definitely doable. Everthing we needed was provided for us. Clean, good shower, good bed... A good spot for sure !

Beautiful

The property was exactly as listed; while small, we were perfectly comfortable. The big windows across the whole back of the house gave us a beautiful view of the Yaquina Lighthouse and the rolling of the waves on the shore was almost hypnotizing. It was an easy drive to Nye Beach and downtown Newport and all the grocery stores were close by. Don’t miss the aquarium, it’s amazing. If you have the chance have dinner at Zurita Tapas Restaurant. Delicious and worth every penny.

Cabin getaway with a few

Great little cabin with a fantastic view. Beach access is easier from Agate Beach, but Nye Beach is also walking distance. Internet is not sufficient for video conferences but fine for checking emails

Amazing soot

Great place. Besides all the BS fees, its pretty amazing. Super cozy. If they could cut away from the fees it would be a better experience. You literally pay just as much in fees.

Did not disappoint!

Great! Will stay again. Cold weather guests FYI only use presto type logs in the fireplace and bring your own. For the host: would have been cool to have a couple logs provided :) we left one behind.

Relaxing

We showed up and the garbage outside was overflowing from the previous visitors. I called the # and also took a picture right away and was told that someone would show up to take care of it. This was Thursday. No one came and we had to add to the pile of overflowing garbage when we left. Otherwide, we loved how secluded it was. Great for just 2 people.

Your place is great! View, privacy, proximity to stores, etc was excellent. Biggest downside is the heater. It is loud with a clanking noise that suggests it’s breaking, it actually can wake you from sleep! Fix that and you are a 5/5z

This place was our little secret beach bungalow Heaven. It definitely was not what we were expecting but we ended up loving it. It can be hard to find but this was something we learned to love. Note you should have a 4wheel or off the beaten path ready vehicle! The views were breath-taking! There is no beach access but it is close to access to Agate Beach. No AC but you don’t need it. However I wish the neighborhood/surrounding areas felt safe to leave the windows and doors open at night. With a wrap around deck we chose not to leave it open. The windows did not lock well either.

Peaceful

What a cute little slice of peacefulness. You truly feel all alone with all the trees and bushes however none of them blocked the amazing views of the ocean. We saw several Whales while gazing at the ocean. The walk to the beach access is a short walk however it is on a fairly busy road, there is no trail or pathway so be careful as you have to walk on the road in several places. The only suggestion would be to have a screen on a window or sliding glass door so you can hear the ocean and not worry about the bugs or resident (and very persistent) squirrel getting in the house.
