Great place to stay

The location is outstanding. Was able to walk to a few places for drinks, meals, etc. Parking is close by and not too expensive. The room had a great view and was really quiet and comfortable.

At first I was a bit skeptical to stay at Sonder because of mixed reviews, but I decided to stay at the hotel and I was not disappointed! The rooms were beautiful and spacious, the location was very close to everything I needed as a first time solo traveller, and you have a great view of the city. The staff on site was also very accommodating with a last minute extension to my booking which I really appreciated. Overall, would highly recommend staying at Sonder

I booked this place not knowing that they require you to send them your details and a picture of your license/passport and credit card details. Nobody in their right mind would do this. So I had to book another hotel and lost the money I spent on this booking. No cancellations allowed. This is a digrace

The Sonder is like living in your own condo with a generous sized layout with bedroom, living and kitchenette. Great location, city views and washer/dryer in units. The hallway/stairway smelled of pot but that is the general smell of downtown Detroit. And the couch in the living room area has hair on it and could have been cleaner..

It was very clean and had everything we needed. But we were not happy about the parking, the check in instructions, or if there were check out instructions or not. The property was dirty and we kind of felt unsafe. There were people extremely loud with music throughout the hallways and fighting and screaming at each other all night. No security was around to stop them. The TV was also very slow so we couldn’t really use it. Other than that, the apartment had everything we needed and the bed was comfy. I wish we had more towels.

If you like sleeping on a hard surface this place is great. The beds are stiff and create a lot of pressure points. Barely slept at all. Also the platform of the bed was not properly secured so the mattress would shift and collapse every time we moved. The only sitting options were the bed of doom or metal prison chairs.

Love the ambiance of the place! Great location for dining and things to do are within walking distance. The layout of the rooms are amazing and spacious. We had a city view which was beautiful. But the cold draft coming through the windows was no fun lol. I would recommend them resealing the windows and putting u some heavy curtains. But overall, communication was phenomenal and any questions or concerns i had were addressed and answered asap!

At first I was a bit skeptical about staying here given the fact that I have never stayed in a Sonder before. However, much to my surprise I was very amazed by the cleanliness of this place also the location of the building it was right in the heart of downtown Detroit with easy access to restaurants, bars and stores as well as all the necessary amenities downtown has to offer. The checking process was easy and everything is done mainly through the app. You use the app to get the pass code to enter the building then it’s keyless entry to your apartment from the app. Love it. The train or people mover as they call it is located right on the street behind the building so that makes it a breeze to get to where you wanna go. The room was very clean and the ceilings were high with huge windows that let in a lot of light. Bathroom and kitchen area was also very clean and well stocked with everything you will need for your stay. The only complain I have is that it was cold when I visited like -2 degrees cold so the room did get a bit chilly especially at nights because the windows are huge so the cold air draft tend to come in from the windows which has few draft cracks being that it is an older building. Over all I would say I enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay there again.
