Was unsure what to expect from this hotel as my sole reason for booking was the proximity to the AECC. Expected a decentish place to sleep and not much else. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is genuinely a very nice hotel, with very helpful staff, comfortable beds, an EXCELLENT breakfast buffet, good Wifi and fast, inexpensive connections to both the airport and city centre (although this last fact is not very well advertised). The room was clean and functional, better than I would have expected from a hotel in this price range.
The breakfast deserves a special mention, I was pleased to find a combination of the typical "hotel breakfast" items with some local scottish fare, including Aberdeen rolls (butteries) and haggis. They also offer a number of hot dishes made to order, however I was left completely satisfied by the items in the buffet and didn't order any of them.
In conclusion, I was delighted with this hotel and will probably stay here again the next time I am attending an event at the AECC.
One word of warning: The ATM in the lobby charges a rather high fee for cash withdrawals, while there's a free one just inside the centrally located Poundland in Aberdeen city. Don't waste your money.
