Lazy Mountain Hideaway

Lazy Mountain Hideaway är ett stort privat bostadsområde på den lägre nivån i vårt hem. 1904 kvadratmeter, med separat ingång och parkering. De två sovrummen har full size-sängar med nya tuft & Needle minne skum madrasser. Det finns också en ny bäddsoffa i vardagsrummet med en queen airbed. Det finns också en plattskärms-tv med lokala kanaler och Roku med flera strömmande appar. Jack & Jill-badrummet har dusch och badkar för blötläggning. hårtork, schampo, balsam och lokalgjord tvål tillhandahålls. WiFi är tillgänglig. Gästköket innehåller kylskåp, gasspis och ugn, mikrovågsugn, kaffebryggare, fransk kaffepresse, köksartiklar, tallrikar, bestick och köksredskap. Vi erbjuder kaffe och te, och lokala ekologiska gårdar färska ägg när det är tillgängligt. Tvätten har frontmatad tvättmaskin och torktumlare med tvättmedel, sköljmedel, strykbräda och järn.

Det finns en ny propangrill på gästgården, där gästerna kan kolla grönsaksgården och den fantastiska utsikten över bergen och solnedgångar.

Hemmet ligger på 21 tunnland på axeln av Lazy Mountain, bara 7 miles nordost om Palmer. Du kan gå på promenader, längdåkning, snöskor på stigar utan att någonsin behöva lämna fastigheten. Moose bor i området, och kan ses som helst på året, under våren kommer de att ha kalvar med dem. Grannar höja bison och älg, och även ombord hästar. Bergsutsikt finns i överflöd. Gästerna älskar vår närhet till Palmer, Alaska State Fair, Hatcher Pass, Matanuska Glacier, Musk Ox och Ren gårdar, Lazy Mountain vandringar och mycket mer.

En av de bästa sakerna med Lazy Mountain Hideaway är lugn och ro. Ugglor kan höras och ringer till varandra på natten! Och om du är här på rätt årstid, kommer Northern Lights vara en speciell behandling.

För gäster som stannar tre nätter eller längre, kommer vi att erbjuda en stor flaska varm hemlagad fransk bröd på begäran (se bild).

Beautiful location close to everything!

We had an amazing stay with Gretchen and Al. They were very hospitable and friendly. We were greeted with a loaf of fresh bread (we ate it ALL!), butter, homemade jam and fresh eggs. The location is central to everything we wanted to do. We drove Hatcher pass, drove out to “see” Denali, played a round of golf and saw 2 glaciers. The home was very roomy and clean. Everywhere We can’t wait to return for another visit. Thanks Gretchen and Al!!

Wonderful stay

We absolutely loved this place. Th hosts were very gracious and hospitable and very friendly. They let us pick raspberries from their patch and even gave us fresh vegetables from their garden for supper. Gretchen even managed to find a spot for us to hunt fossil plant material. The place was very spacious with beautiful linens and nice local art decorating the walls. The view looked out to the mountains. They provided recommendations for activities and places to visit and eat. One was to visit Hatcher Pass and pick wild huckleberries. Hatcher Pass was one of our most favorite outings. The scenery was gorgeous! We had a wonderful stay and would return in a heartbeat.

Gretchen and Al afe the best. Can't wait to come back. Made us feel like family. Enjoyed fresh eggs from their chickens and the bonus was picking raspberries from their beautiful garden.

Perfect, peaceful location with gracious hosts!

I would definitely recommend Lazy Mountain rental and especially Gretchen as a host. The home was extremely clean and the beds were super comfortable. Gretchen provided us with a dozen fresh eggs and plenty of coffee and tea. The location is amazing and peaceful. We had hoped to see a moose which we didn't but Gretchen kept an eye out for us and even enlisted the neighbors. Unfortunately our stay was short (work related)but I will definitely be back with mu family for a longer visit.

Refreshing time in Palmer

We were VERY satisfied with our stay at the Lazy Mountain. Gretchen and Al were very accommodating. The lower level of their home is very clean and well thought out for guests. Gretchen went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, recommended the best things to see and do in the area, listed out restaurants and hikes, and just overall kind and hospitable. We enjoyed dinner on the patio one night with great views!!

Lazy Mountain Paradise

We loved it! The property is centrally located and we were able to go out and have adventures everyday and come back and rest at night. They are a nice couple. It's a beautiful property and our grandkids really enjoyed it too!

A beautiful place, wonderful people

I was up for a week in Palmer on business, accompanied by my sister. I have stayed in a number of places around the Mat-Su as I come up regularly. I have seen nothing more beautiful and peaceful as this place. Gretchen and Al were wonderful hosts, and took my sister under their wing as this was her first Alaska visit. I highly recommend this for a stay of any length- Lazy Mountain is, as my sister says, a little slice of heaven.The accommodation was very comfortable, and quite large. Again, highly recommended.

Gretchen Strawn är värd

Al has lived in Palmer for 42 years, and Gretchen for 29 years. They love to work in their garden and go for walks on their property. Al enjoys fishing, running, and hiking. Gretchen uses her favorite recipe to smoke salmon, and we both look forward to harvesting vegetables from our garden, as well as raspberries from our berry patch.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We fell in love with this home the minute we saw it! It is tucked away on the side of Lazy Mountain, at the end of a very long driveway. The peace, tranquility, view and garden called to us. We love hearing the owls calling to each other at night, and experiencing the wildlife that frequent the property. A good day for us is when we don't have to leave "the hill."

Summer guests can walk the various trails on the property, grill food on the patio, and visit Matanuska Glacier, Hatcher Pass, the Musk Ox Farm, Reindeer Farm, hike to the top of Lazy Mountain, shop, dine and walk around in Palmer. On Fridays they can visit Friday Fling in Palmer, which offers produce booths from local farmers, pottery, jewelry, soaps, jellies etc. from local artisans, and many food booths.
In addition, August guests will love picking raspberries from our patch for their breakfasts, and can also find blueberries in abundance within 20 minutes of here. And August guests can go to the Alaska State Fair every day! Guests have gone on road trips to Seward, Valdez, and Denali National Park from here, using Lazy Mountain Hideaway as their home base.
Winter guests love to see the Northern Lights! Many have loved snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and sledding from their door.
We can't forget the water! We have wonderful water right from the tap, no water bottles necessary!
